Cole found it strange. After hours of walking, he kept encountering the same mark on the same tree.

"Am I walking through a maze?" he wondered, glancing around at the tall trees and short grass.

Drawing his sword, he slashed an "X" into the trunk of the tree beside him.

"A shadow maze? Who the heck cast it? I'd guess a grade 10 or above ability user, but why? Or..."

A crooked laughter echoed through the forest. "Darn, am I inside a cast?" Cole muttered.
