Chapter 47: The Fight
Pauly’s POV.
“And if I refuse?” Warner was big angry as he looked over the table at me, his jaw clenched his teeth practically cracking under the pressure.
“You won’t leave alive.”
I only knew how to react to the situation like I would a fight in the ring. When given an opponent bigger than you. You take them at their weakness. Warner knew my weakness. She was sitting next to me. Clinging to my hand like I was going to disappear, I clung to her terrified that if I let go, I would lose her.
But Warner was a man who didn’t think he had any weaknesses.
Warner Lupine was a man who thought he was impenetrable. But Warner was Warner’s biggest weakness. The brand, the career he had made for himself. But bigger than that. Himself was his weakness. I had pinned him between himself and himself forcing him to make a choice. I just hoped he didn’t pick the second choice, calling me out on my bluff. The Enforcer who didn’t carry a gun.
