Chapter 15: Weaving Together a Plan
Pauly’s POV.
“Let’s go over the list again,” Mo says, easing himself into the cracked leather office chair.
Mo had a special talent for making every single space his. There wasn’t one place he ever walked into that he didn’t own. Confidence wasn’t lacking with the barely five-foot-three man. Mo stretched his short legs out onto Andrei’s desk, a wide easy smile settling on his face.
Andrei, on the other hand, was close to his boiling point. Mo knew exactly the right buttons to push to launch Andrei into another dimension. Watching them even now, I was reminded that not much had changed since high school.
Mo worked like it was his job to annoy Andrei. It was like his favorite pastime. Andrei used it as a resource to funnel all of his extra aggression into. But as soon as the two of them needed to have each other’s backs, they dropped their playful animosity for one another.
