Chapter 14- The Priest

As I Continued my search For Kana, I Stumbled Upon A Large Set Of Stairs Leading Up Towards A Shrine. "Hmm I Mean It's The Last Area I Could Try" I Thought To Myself, Hoping That She Was There. I Didn't Wanna Lose Someone Who Supported Me For Weeks Now And Someone I Loved For A Long Time Even If It Didn't Seem That Long.

I Approached The Shrine As A Large Crimson Torii Gate Stood In Front Of Me Symbolising The Sacredness Of This Place. As I Carried On Walking Along The Cobblestone Path I Could Hear The Small Chirps Of Grasshoppers In The Night. "Come On Kana" I Sighed Growing A Little Desperate Now As My Hope Started To Fade.

I Then Luckily Noticed Kana Kneeling Down In Front Of A Saisen (A Type Of Japanese Donation Box). She Seemed To Be Praying Currently, Which Was Surprising Since I Was Surprised That She Already Knew So Much About The Culture. I Gotta Give Her Some Points For That Definitely.

"Oh, Matthew I Am So, So, So Sorry!" She Clasped Her Hands Apologetically As She Spoke In A Worried Tone. "Oh Don't You Worry, I'm Just Glad I Found You" I Responded To Her In A Soft Tone Like I Always Say How Could I Ever Stay Mad At Someone Who Cares For Me This Much?

I Then Gently Glided My Hand Across Her Hair Stroking Gently As She Smiled Happily With Her Usual Bright Smile. "Thanks, Mati-kun~" She Murmured Adorably Like A Little Kitty. "No Problem My Devil Girlfriend" I Responded To Her With The Same Passion As She Did.

"Anyway Let's Go Home" I Nodded Before A Heard A Sudden Crack Of A Gun, Before I Realized I Saw Kana Collapse Onto The Ground With A Bullet Wound On Her Head. "KANA!!!" I Yelled Loudly As I Kneeled Down Holding Her Tightly.

"Well, Well Finally Found You Demon Scum" I Heard A Voice From Behind And As I Turned I Saw A Man With Spiky Black Hair And Dark Facial Hair, His Purple Coloured Eyes Lighting Up The Darkness Around Him. He Wore A Grey And Black Cassock And Black Trousers Looking Very Like A Priest.

He Had A Grin Painted On His Face As He Carried A Pistol In Hand. "Why... Who Are You?" I Spoke With Pure Rage And Resentment For The Man As He Looked Back At Me With a Disapproving Expression. "I'll Keep It Simple For Your Corrupted Mind" The Priest Retorted With Obvious Disdain For Me And Kana.

"I'm Von Thadrick, A Child Of God, A Messiah You Could Say And With That Title, My Job Is To Exterminate Demons And Any Monster In Sight" He Explained While Readjusting His Glove On His Right Hand. "The Church Has Been Keeping An Eye On Your Little Relationship For A Long Time So They Sent Me To Kill Your Girlfriend" He Added With A Smirk Seemingly Finding Our Relationship Unrealistic And Blasphemous. 

"And Before You Ask Her Regeneration Is Slower Due To Me Using A Special Bullet That Slows Down Regeneration On You Filthy Vermin" He Chuckled As My Rage And Hatred For Him Only Grew. "You... Bastard, I'll Kill You!" I Yelled Before Charging At Him, Sure It Was Foolish But I'd Do Anything To Protect The Girl I Love.

"Submit Yourselves Therefore To God, Resist The Devil, And He Will Flee From You!" He Yelled With a Maniacal Grin As My Fist Was About To Collide With His Stomach He Quickly Dodged So Fast That My Eyes Couldn't Track Him... Like He Teleported. Then Without Giving Me A Second To Turn Around, He Kicked Me In The Back Sending My Flying Into The Ground, As All I Could Taste Was Stones.

"Pathetic But Not Surprised Since You're A Pagan!" He Laughed Maniacally Before Picking Me Up By My Kimono His Hand Firm On The Top Of My Kimono. "You're Crazy" I Retorted As I Coughed Violently His Strength Was More Than That Of A Regular Human. 

"Now I'll Make You Taste Hell, Sinner" He Revealed A Bayonet From The Cuff Of His Outfit.

"Stop Right There And Unhand Matthew Right This Second" I Heard A Voice Seeing That It Was Kurumi An Aura Of Electricity Surrounded Her, From An Obvious Standpoint She Seemed Pissed.

"Ah, Succubus... Lustful Bastards From Hell" The Priest Scoffed Before Releasing Me As I Fell Face Fist Into The Cobblestone Floor. I Could Barely Walk Now And I Hoped Kurumi Could Stop This Crazed Guy.
