District 64

"Why!? WHY! IS A STUDENT FROM THE GAMES HARMING ME! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING, SHIDO TATSUYA!"

The figure who fired the Kido spell removed his hood, revealing the freshly awakened Shido underneath. His eyes were dark and baggy, but despite his exhaustion, his emotions were very strong.

"What do you want from me?! A ransom? If it's money, then I have some people who can arrange it! Hurry up and take me back home, and then I can gloss over this incident!"

Shido simply nodded at the other cloaked figure, who quickly took off his hood before casting a simple Bakudo spell. It was Jinriyu. A purple barrier rose from the ground which encased all three of them.

"Jinriyu?? Aren't you a noble!? Why are you helping this trash?"

"Trash? I may be scum, but you people are just as terrible. I'm no judge but this isn't personal, not for me at least. My friend on the other hand..."

Shingetsu was just about to shout at him, but then Shido flash stepped in front of him, before kicking him in the gut. He shouted as he spat out blood yet no one could hear his cries.

"But why!? What have I done to deserve this-"

As Shingetsu made eye contact with Shido, he immediately froze in fear. His eyes were empty, almost like a corpses. There was no empathy or a hint of regret about what he was about to do. Only hatred was left.

"8 years ago, district 64."

That date and place was familiar to Shingetsu. Once he remembered he tried to argue back once again.

"What we did that day was for the good of the Soul Society! If you wanted to become a Soul Reaper, then you must understand what we did was for the best!"

The second he said that, a short burst of rage exploded from Shido as he quickly cut of Shingetsu's right hand with his Zanpakutō. Blood spurted from the wound as he screamed, yet Shido felt no remorse from it. Shingetsu gripped the wound, but blood only continued to flow.

"8 years ago when the Quincy's first invaded, they killed several hundred hollows in the world of the living. This caused an imbalance of Souls which would've delt tremendous damage to the world. To rectify this, an equal amount of souls on this side would need to disappear too."

Shingetsu's legs were broken, so instead of running he tried to drag himself away. Shido let him continue his pathetic attempt at escape while he continued to talk.

"For this purpose, for the sake of correcting the destroyed balance, the people of district 64 were sacrificed. I figured this was the choice made by those at the top of Soul Society which could've only been Central 46. I was then confirmed of this when Hisagi brought Hikone over there 6 years ago. However you made one fatal error. By some miracle, I survived. I don't know if it was a mistake, or perhaps god let me live but I survived just so I could kill all you people with my hands."

It wasn't that far away now. The edge of the barrier was so close, just a little bit more and Shingetsu would finally leave.

"What about your dreams of being a Soul Reaper? Is that why you came to this school? To chase revenge?"

"I was always planning on coming here. I needed to get stronger, but there was a limit as to how strong I could get in that village. I figured I could become a high ranking official after I graduated, but along the way, I started to lose sight of my vision."

As people began to move into the village, they naturally made Shido their leader. Was it because of pity for what had happened? Or was it genuine respect for what he had been through? To this day he still couldn't understand, but nonetheless he took the responsibility, and looked after them as best as he could. Eventually Kai came around, and that was when he began to forget. The hatred he held for so long began to disappear.

"Those people, they made me weak. I was a fool for letting myself get comfortable with them. I can't be allowed to forget what you people did to us that day! YOU PEOPLE SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED, TO TAKE SO MANY LIVES SO EASILY! WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO KILL MY FAMILY! I DON'T CARE WHAT SELFLESS CAUSE IT WAS FOR, I DON'T CARE IF I'M IN THE WRONG! JUST FOR KILLING MY FAMILY, JUST FOR KILLING EVERYONE I CARED FOR, I'LL BECOME THE DEMON THAT WILL BRING YOU ALL DOWN!"

Shingetsu finally reached the end of the barrier, but once he stretched his hand out towards it, he realized it was as hard as a rock. There was no way he was breaking this, and it was likely the thing was sound proof too. He looked back only to see a demon standing above him.

Whatever trace of humanity Shido had left, had long disappeared.

"The presence of a hollow??! What have you done to yourself?"

Shido's body began to warp into an unrecognizable form. It was something that shocked even Jinriyu as this was the first time he got to see it. Whatever he had transformed into, Shido slowly used it to devoured the central 46 member.

First his legs, then both his arms until only his torso and head was left. The pain had long since knocked Shingetsu out, so once he realized this, he left him with no opportunity for survival by devouring the whole body.

The sound of chewing and the crunching of bones was a sound that Jinriyu didn't find discomforting. But seeing it in person was another story, especially with what Shido had turned into.

"I only asked for a hollow with that specific ability. What the hell did he give me??"

Once Shido finished, he quickly morphed back to a human form. Despite the bloody mess, he was eerily clean. He looked at the palm of his hand before clenching his fist.

Ever since he woke up, he was brimming with a strange power. A power he felt that could rival captains, maybe even higher.

He looked back at Jinriyu, his companion and ally.

"Jinriyu, I haven't properly thanked you have I?"

"Thank me? For what?"

"You were right. I was wearing a mask that I so desperately wanted to take off. Those people I once called friends made me forget my hatred. But now you've not only given me the power I searched for, but the drive I almost lost has now returned to me. Central 46 and the Soul Reapers who serve them. I will destroy them all!"

Jinriyu became more intrigued. He wanted to poke some fun at Shido.

"So would you even kill Kai?"
