Chapter 1: Start!

Somewhere in the distant future, the world has changed drastically. VR games are at an all-time high and feel too real for their own good, and with such functions, games are sure to be played in the highest setting.

But out of all the games, there is one that dominates all, "Blade Works" a game that revolutionized VR gaming as a whole. With its realism, and action-packed gameplay, players were sure to spend the majority of their lives on such games.

And I, Alex Graham was one of those players. Spending hours playing the game I sometimes missed dinner, family hangouts, and skipped school. But 13 years later, I met my defeat at the hands of a very corrupt guild, "Blood Works" It was a guild that was created almost immediately after Blade Works was launched, and even though nobody knows who is the true owner of the guild it's still the most powerful and influential one.

First, It started with being baited into signing a shitty contract, then it turned into literal threats, and once they killed and wiped my character they felt as if that wasn't enough and even killed me in real life.

And that's why I'm here.

Drifting alone in a dark void of water? I am yet to know where I am, but at this point, I can't even be bothered to care.

A bright light, so bright it's blinding. It hurts to look at...I'm gonna close my eyes.

I closed my eyes to avoid the light and 5 seconds later that watery feeling surrounding my body disappeared and the only thing that remained was the feeling of a hard wooden floor.

"Huh?..." I looked around frantically, very confused about how I'm alive. "Those bastards DOXXED me and then even went so far as to murder me"

I stood up from the floor and wiggled my toes and fingers, "Still feels real, but this makes no sense." I scratched my head confused about how I'm alive and well. "Is this heaven? am I seeing my old memories of some sort? I knew this room looked familiar."

It was the room of legends and memories, I met many people in this room but mostly online. And now here I am, standing in it once again.

"Hm...or is it like those novels where I regress? but that is impossible and just a stupid cliche trope. There's no way...." I look at my high-tech VR headset, "I remember now, today was the day I first started playing Blade Works....so that means, I-I really am back in the past."

I grab the headset and sit on my bed, I then sigh heavily "Do I really wish to engage in this game for a second time?....eh probably~" I put on the headset and instantly I stand in a blank white canvas of a room.

I click yes and what sat before me was a display screen with different varieties of appearance editing, even though the game already uses your real face you can edit if you wish.

I clicked through the options and just changed my hairstyle which went to my neck to blonde and eye color to a crimson red.

"Looking good."

"Yes."

The blank world of white instantly colorized into this very realistic and high-end graphics VR game. "Can these even be called a game at this point?...."

I look around the world which had lush trees and fields but inside resided monsters and beasts.

"Even though I've seen this game over a thousand times, it still amazes me."

Alex looked at the options and smirked a bit, "I was a swordsman last time, but just for fun...Archer. Even though I choose this class this won't mean I can't use swords or magic but It will be harder to use those later on. But that's fine because Archers aren't weak in this game."

As he stepped into the game for the "first" time he saw the bustling small town overran with other players looking to level up and get stronger.

"Same as always~"

Alex ran to the forest instantly, he ran so far it took nearly a full hour to get where he wanted to go.

"Finally! It's still here!" He grabbed a blue azure-like stone, "Crystal Ore." Crystal ore is an item in the game that gives +5 on all stats permanently. In the future, a gamer by the name of "Likeable" found it while struggling to level up and with it he instantly got a head start in the game.

But now, "I have it...." Alex smiled brightly he could get all the stuff he once dreamed of getting, and with his future knowledge he was going to use it to the fullest.

"Now, time to grind."

Alex walked deep into the forest, past the cliffs and mountains and into a place that nobody knew of. It had relatively easy monsters and the exp was insane. He was sure to get a headstart with his new stats and exp farm as he called it.
