Chapter 14:

I had a vision, no....was it a dream? I stood in a world where nothing was there. Everything was pure white, I looked at the ground and....there was no ground. Precisely, I didn't know if I was standing or floating. I tried walking but I couldn't move. This was definitely a dream. How was I going to get up from my dream? Should I bite my tongue and die in the dream? No, chances are that I'll probably imitate the actions I took in the dream.

Something caught my eye, didn't know if it was far or near but something rose up. Black fumes started flowing from the white ground. Something came closer, it was like a gaseous figure. The figure started crushing itself and turned itself into a ball. Nothing happened for a second or so. Then what happened was astonishing. Hands, legs and a face came out of the ball. It took the shape of a human and was faceless, but it felt like it was looking at me. It moved towards me, at first it staggered and then in no time, it reached me.

I stood fearless in front of it. I couldn't open my mouth and they felt like they were sealed. It brought it's hand near it's chest and stabbed itself in the heart. What was this thing doing?!! Where am I? Why am I here? I didn't know any of the answers to these questions.

It pulled out it's hand from the chest and held something in it's hand. It was a..... heart.

The heart was black in color. Something like small black chains were wrapped around it. The heart wasn't fully covered but only a portion. The faceless man brought it near my face and finally it touched my forehead.

I opened my eyes without jerking up. I saw a dark figure looming over me. My hand was covered with black mist.

"What are you doing and how long have I been passed out for?"

"Fixing.....your bones.... You've been....out for....ten minutes."

"How're you fixing my arm?"

"Tying up your.... cracked bones....with invisible threads."

"Hmm....it still hurts but it's fine I guess?" I looked at the black mist that had been used as a plaster.

"Are you....a spirit... too?" The guardian spirit asked out of the blue.

"Eh?" I looked at the spirit with a confused face. Then I remembered the vision I had," Wait a minute!!! No no no this can't be happening!! I got killed by a tractor tire???"

I checked my heart and it was still beating. Then I calmed down and was thankful that I was alive.

"Oye don't scare me like that.... What makes you think I'm a spirit?"

"While fixing.....your arm. I felt....a sense of..... familiarity. Something....that is connected....to the netherworld...."

"What's a netherworld?"

"Hell....a place where.....the evilest of..... humans end up."

I stayed quiet and then remembered the biggest sin I had committed in the past.

"Let's get back to training." I got up.

Hachi's hospital room at 9 PM

"Another case related to the monster has surfaced up. But this time the victims seem to be three armed police officers. Surprisingly, there hasn't been a single bite mark on the officers." The reporter in the TV spoke.

"No bite marks? Now that I remember, he did say something about breaking it's jaw." Hachi smirked.

At Makino's house

"Now the real question that arises is, if the police isn't able to handle the situation, then who will bring this monster's reign to an end?"

"Tch....these reporters really do whatever they want when they get a chance." Makino's dad grunted.

Makino gripped her fist tightly and believed in Sugawara.

The next day at 11:30 PM,

The minister of military and affairs Kazuma Eiji was a plump and fat man. He had a prideful face and was a very corrupted person. He sends his personal force to hunt down the wolf man.

" Failure is absolutely not permitted! If you retreat after failing, I'll put a bullet in your head myself." The minister commanded his force which consisted of 2 snipers, 6 experienced hand to hand combat soldiers and 4 gunmen.

" Yes sir!" They all saluted.

When they all left, the minister banged his fist on the wall and grit his teeth.

" Curse you Asano Yume!!! I'll make you regret that you ever stood up to me!! Your death will not be painless!! No matter how strong your experimented being is, it will never be able to kill a group of experienced soldiers."

The soldiers assembled and positioned themselves at places where the wolf man had attacked people before. The snipers hid themselves on the top of the building while half of the hand to hand combat soldiers scattered themselves here and there and waited for the sniper's signal. While the other half and the 4 gunmen scouted the perimeter. They set up traps in the alleys where they'll be able to use a pincer attack.

" I wonder why Dr. Yume is doing this. Did he turn into a mad scientist or something?" Soldier #1 spoke through a radio to his comrades.

" Keep quiet! Don't speak about something stupid at a time like this." Soldier #2 scolded.

" Well he had a loose screw from before itself. The minister is taking responsibility for hiring him and wants us to take care of him." Soldier #3 replied.

" Didn't he have a family? Kinda feel bad for them." The sniper on the building said.

" You don't have to show pity for a criminal" Soldier #4 said.

" Oye you guys, shut the hell up and concentrate! Do you want to die?" One of the gunmen yelled through the mic."

The noise hurt their ears making them scream.

" Oye don't scream!" Soldier #1 yelled making their ears hurt more.

" You stop you fool!!" Soldier #2 did the same.

Then they heard a static noise and the sniper called them out.

" Hey there's something coming from 4 o'clock. Why didn't soldier #9 report about someone coming this direction. Oye soldier #9! Respond! I repeat, soldier #9 respond!"

" Shit he's been had!! There's static coming from his channel. Oye sniper #2! Where's the man that was coming from soldier #9's direction??"

" About that.... I've lost sight of him. I can't find him through night vision glasses too!"

" Shit it's here!! Everyone brace yourselves. Soldier #3! Go look for soldier #9's whereabouts! I'll back you up if I-- AAAAAGHHHHH!!" There were static noises coming from his channel.

" Soldier #2!!! What happened!! Respond!!! Sniper #1, aim at soldier #2"s direction and fire."

SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT....

" Did I get'im??"

There was a wounded man coming towards soldier #3's direction. His insides had been gouged out. When he took a closer look, it was soldier #9 who had been attacked first.

" Help...." He collapsed.

Soldier #3 rushes towards him and the sniper yells

" Get back!! It's a trap!!" But before he could take action, a large figured swooped him away and all of them heard soldier #3's cries for help.

" Shit!! Fire!!!" Both snipers shot at the same time.

" Where the hell are the combat soldiers and gunmen??!!!" Soldier #1 threw a flash grenade and the whole area lit up.

There was blood everywhere and the soldiers were terrified by what they saw. All the combat soldiers and gunmen were on the ground dead with green liquid on them.

Soldier #1 then heard cries from the building and he saw a large flying figure carrying both snipers.

" Shit shit shit!!! I'm the only one alive!! I need to contact the minister!!" He pulled out a phone and dialed the number. He ran towards a street where it had lots of lamp posts.

The minister picked up the call and the soldier burst out

" Sir everyone has been wiped out and I'm the only one left."

" What!!! For what reason did I hire you then!!!??? You stupid fools!!!" The minister yelled through the phone.

The soldier who was running, now tripped and fell on his back.

" Sir please let me live!! I don't want to die yet!!" He pleaded but then what he saw was.... despair.

The wolf man was grinning and showed his large and sharp teeth. The soldier was so scared that he couldn't move a muscle.

" Y-You couldn't handle u-us...." The wolf man grinned.

" U-Us?" The soldier's voice was tiny in front of his heavy voice.

" I was not alone like you people."

Beside the wolf man, a large eight-legged figure appeared. It was a large spider and had teeth bigger than the wolf man's. It spat out something green that burned a hole through the road. Another large figure dived down from the sky and sat at the soldier's feet. It screeched so loud that the soldier's ear drums burst.

" W-We have a message from master...." The wolf man picked up the phone and spoke to the minister.

" L-Let's have fun l-like the old days...." The wolf man crushed the phone and that ended the call.

The minister was now pale with fear. His hands were trembling and his face was sweating. He crouched down and cried for his life.
