Kidnap

Maxwell drove to Sherbrooke, where Ava lived. He parked his car opposite her home while he waited inside. It was getting dark, but Maxwell didn't care. He turned off his car headlights and waited patiently.

After ten minutes of wait, Ava approached home as she alighted from a cab that drove away.

Maxwell took out his phone and rang a number. He didn't wait for the person to pik as he ended the call and watched his front. A man came out of a car and took Ava away, closing her mouth with his large hand to avoid her from screaming. He took her into his car and immediately, the car drove off.

Maxwell drove off after the car left. Ava kept struggling and fighting for the man to let her go but she was held tight amidst two men at the back. They arrived at a house where no one lived there. Ava was kept in a room, her mouth was gagged with a black cloth. Her hands and legs were tied together as she sat on the floor.

The room looked empty but she didn't know where she was. Her eyes were closed when she was brought into this place. After a few minutes, a man came up to her and handed her water to take. He removed the cloth from her mouth and untied her hands.

"Who are you? What do you want from me? Please let me go…" Ava pleaded wirh the man as tears welled up in her eyes.

"I'm not the one in charge here. Please stop making so much noise." He said to her in a husky voice.

"I'm getting married tomorrow…please let me go…" Ava pleaded with him but he didn't say anything and left the room. Ava heard voices in the next room or rather, at the door. She struggled to get up from where she sat to escape but she couldn't. All plans to run away were thin for her especially because she was tied up with a strong rope.

She had a familiar male voice and wondered where she heard the voice from. She leaped up on her feet and eent to the door. Ava tried to turn the door handle but was scared that they might hear it. The voice fot so closer and she thought of an idea. She peeped through the keyhole but couldn't see anyone properly. She could only see the back of a man's body.

She kept on looking to try and see how the outside was when she saw the face of someone she had seen before and probably the person who owned the familiar voice. Maxwell! Her eye balls gree larger as she panicked in fear.

"Oh no! What is he doing here? Maybe he came to save me?" She thought for a moment but wondered why he spoke so cool to the kidnappers as she recognized one of the men who brought her there.

"Wait…what if he is one of them? Does he want to hurt me?" Ava thought as she remembered his words…if they meet again, he was going to punish her. She assumed him to be an bad person but didn't know he could be this evil.

"I have to get out of here." She thought to herself as she cracked her brain on the possible escape plans that she could come up with. She heard footsteps coming towards the door so she ran back and pretended to be tied. After waiting for a few seconds and no one came in, she got up, planning how to escape.

Ava went back to the door as she tried to peep outside. Everywhere was quiet. She sighed as she felt hopeless when her hand hit the door handle and the door creaked open. She was shocked abs surprised, all at the same time. The door was open all this while. She pushed it open carefully and surveyed outside but didn't see anyone. She walked out of the room, closing the door quietly as she tiptoed around.

She was in a house and don't know her way around there. She didn't know the exit door but tried her best to escape. Ava came out to the front stairs when she noticed a big brown door.

"That must be the exit door." She thought to herself as she looked around to see if there was anyone around. On her way to the stairs, she heard voices coming from another room. She went closer and heard them discussing but can't seem to grasp what they were talking about.

The door opened as she leaned back immediately to the wall. The person didn't come out immediately so she ran quickly down the stairs and hid under it. After some time, she didn't hear a noise so she ran to the door. It was opened and she got out of the building. She ran through the streets down to the road and managed to get a cab, where she went back home.

Ava's heart kept pounding as she reached home. She immediately locked the door as tough someone was chasing after her.

"Who is that?" Julie asked as she heard the noise from the door.

"It's me." Ava replied.

"Where have you been all these while? I made dinner, get yours in the kitchen." She replied to her. Ava didn't want to tell her sister what happened earlier. She didn't want to trouble her especially with something she wasn't sure of.

Ava couldn't stop thinking about what happened. She was scared and wondered why Maxwell kidnapped her and what he wanted to do with her. She felt lucky for escaping safely as she prayed in her heart never to cords paths with him again.
