Chapter 13

The next morning the boys woke up and saddled up their horses.

"You ready," said Red Bear.

"Do you think they'll be in town today?" asked Billy.

"Yes, they have not left," said Henry.

"Well it's been fun you guys, if neither one of you come back, then I'll know," said Frankie.

"Frankie will you watch over Little Woman and the baby," said Lone Wolf.

"Yes I will, and I know Josh will take real good care of them both," said Frankie.

"Josh never came back home," said Billy.

"He must have spent the night with Little Woman," said Red Bear.

"Well let's go into town," said Henry.

So they jumped on their horses and rode into town. Josh got dressed and opened the hotel window and watched. Henry and the boys arrived at an old building, they tied their horses up to the posts. Josh looked up on the roof, across the street a man was standing on the roof with a gun. At the same time Josh and the man shot, the man shot Lone Wolf in the gut and Josh shot the man in the head and he fell off the roof.

"Good shot," shouted Billy running.

Everybody started running including Lone Wolf.

"Is Lone Wolf up here?" asked Henry running up the stairs.

"I'm here," said Lone Wolf.

Billy looks down at Lone Wolf who was covered in blood.

"You hit bad, aren't you?" asked Billy.

"Yeah, pretty bad," said Lone Wolf.

"He's hit bad!" yelled Billy in anger.

Henry walks over and looks, he knew it was bad, if they lived he knew that Lone Wolf would not make it this time.

"You are going to be alright son," said Henry.

Lone Wolf smiled.

So they all stood by a window upstairs and downstairs as well.

"We have the place surrounded, come out and nobody will get hurt," said the Sheriff.

"Don't believe him, he'll shoot the moment you step out!" yelled Billy.

Lone Wolf broke a window and saw the injun deputy climbing up a pole to reach the window. Lone Wolf stepped back from the window.

"Billy," said Bob from downstairs.

"I know, I see him," said Billy.

The Indian looked through the broke out glass and starred into Lone Wolf's eyes.

"Where is your heart?" asked Lone Wolf.

The Indian looked at Lone Wolf, he yelled and got on top of the roof and started shooting, the Sheriff had no choice but to shoot his friend. He shot the Indian and he came rolling down and landed on the ground.

"No more games now, men move towards the house," said the Sheriff.

Henry and Red Bear ran upstairs.

"They are coming closer to the house," said Bob.

They heard the door open.

"There inside, Red Bear don't," said Billy.

Red Bear ran back downstairs and started shooting. The deputies started shooting. Red Bear killed three of them and one of the deputy's shot Red Bear in the chest and he died instantly.

The Sheriff sent more men towards the house. Lone Wolf looked out the window and saw Little Woman and Josh run to Sheriff Jason's jailhouse.

"Sheriff," said Josh.

The sheriff turned around in his chair, he had a bottle of whisky that was halfway gone.

"I'm sorry kiddo, I can't do anything to stop them, I wish I could," said Jason.

They watched through the window, they watched a few of the deputies drag Red Bear out.

"Last chance boys?" asked the sheriff. "Alright go get them."

The deputies ran towards the house they slowly walkedupstairs, Bob started shooting, then they all started shooting and hiding. Bob got killed, Lone Wolf got hit again, Billy got hit in the arm Henry got hit in the shoulder and the leg.

"Alright no more," said Henry walking towards Lone Wolf helping him up.

"They're coming out," said the deputy.

As they were bringing them out, Little Woman started crying, she ran out before Josh could grab her.
