Remains one chapter and the epilogue

Melissa's pov continue.

" You should have let me take him, never said I need your help," Mr Pattrick muttered menacingly. Gosh! It was Bobby that got hit. 

" But you can't predict what's likely to happen if I didn't do that instead of you,"  Daniel defended.

" Whatever. You still haven't given me your answer, are you planning something secretly?" His father asked again, while I peek around the dusty ground in search of Bobby. He was lying on the floor, some parts of his body are still moving, and  Blood is gushing out of his face; don't know whether it is from the mouth or nose since I can't get a close look at him.

" What does that supposed to mean? Are you doubting me now?" Daniel replied furiously, I looked away from Bobby's body to see what was going on. 

" I won't have doubted you if you did everything I told you to,"

" And what are you trying to get out?"

" Like you saved Draven and lied to me about it," I was shocked when I heard that, I looked at Daniel's face and I must say he is also confused like I am. That furious look was immediately replaced by a terrified one. He took a few steps backwards.

" What are you talking.......about..." He stuttered, still confused.

" I got the record of the section you had with Melissa from. Richard," he nodded at the guy beside him, I guess that must be the Richard guy.

" There is a recorder?"

" Yes. Because I know I can't put all my trust in you."

I can't just believe this is happening, The person I'm still thinking can be of help has landed in a death trap that was set by his so-called father. A part of me is cursing myself, I just feel like I put him in this situation.

" My father won't hesitate to kill me if I betray him," He had said back in the room. I still remember each word he said back there. If Draven is still in the country, he will also track him down after eliminating us.

" So, you also want to kill your son?" Bobby whispered from where he was lying on as he screamed in agony at the same time, but I didn't pay more attention to him. Daniel is about......

" Since you know, does that mean that you are also going to kill me?"

" That depends on how you corporate."

" What if I refused?" 

" Then you are good as dead,"

" Get hold of him......and," before he could complete his words, we started to hear gunshots from different directions, at first it was coming from the guys not until the two guys that were holding me fell to the ground.

What's going on? I can't say. The other guys are no longer there, and Bobby? He is no longer on the floor. Everything flashed through my eyes within a few minutes, but I still don't get what was going on.

I dropped to the ground and covered my ears with my palm. Seeing a dead body is more terrifying, not to talk of kneeling side by side with two dead bodies.

While I was still busy praying I heard someone calling my name.

" I'm sure you are Melissa,"

" Yes, please don't kill me," I pleaded as my body vibrated at the person's touch.

" You are safe, I'm a police officer,"

" I don't care," I paused when I realized what I just heard.

The gunbattle continues, and everywhere is covered with smoke.

" You are a policeman?" I stuttered before raising my head to look at the person.

Even in the dim light, I can see that the person is a lady, but not wearing a police uniform.

" You are safe," she assured. I wanted to hug her and cried at the news, but when I remember that Bobby and Daniel are still out there. I shrieked in fear.

" What of Bobby?" I cleared my throat, trying to swallow the sudden Lump. 

" I have no news about them, my mission is to save you. We can find that out later," she added while I just nodded.

Don't worry, Melissa, they will be fine. I inhaled.
