"Ah, I see. I will keep that in mind." Truth to be told, Livia has completely forgotten about her former father-in-law. Out of sight, out of mind.
Glynis shoots her a look. "You need to do more than keeping this in mind. You need to start thinking about how you intend to deal with Henry and Raylen. The former will be an absolute nuisance because when is he not a pain in the ass? But you have to be careful with the latter too."
"Careful with Raylen?"
Glynis sighs. "Child, have you genuinely not noticed?"
"Noticed what?" Livia feels stupid for even having to ask this question, but she truly has no clue what Glynis is getting at.
Her former mother-in-law eyes her with mixed emotions that are difficult to identify. She thinks she sees some amusement, pity, and resignation.
"Raylen is still in love with you."
"That's impossible." Livia's instinct is to deny and reject that possibility.
