It is quite some time before Livia finds her voice again. "You are being ridiculous."
"How so?" he asks, infuriating her.
The absurdity of the situation is almost enough to make her forget that she is pregnant by this man again.
Almost.
But how can she fail to remember when confronted by the sight of a king-sized bed not unlike the one they used to share?
The memory makes her cheeks heat up so much she almost feels like 'I am pregnant' is scrawled across her forehead.
"Because, because…"
Raylen notices her discomfort, but misidentifies the underlying cause. "There is nothing to be embarrassed about," he begins. "It is not like we have never slept in the same bed before."
"It's just not the same. It's no longer the same."
He sighs. "Look, if you are still not comfortable, we can place pillows between us. Or I will sleep on the sofa after the children are asleep."
