Sophia had a basket of clothes in her hands and was going to Angel's room to drop it off. She had just finished up with laundry. It had taken her all morning because Angel had literally dumped all her clothes on her. Sophia looked at the time. 3:45pm. Suddenly she slammed into something and the basket fell from her hands and the clothes spilled out littering the floor. She rubbed her head and looked up. It was Jason.

There was an uncomfortable silence as they looked at each other. Jason noticed that Sophia had gone really thin and her face was pale. She had dark circles under her eyes and her hair was piled up on her head. It looked like it hadn't been combed for days. Jason almost pitied her. Almost.

They both bent at the same time and grabbed the same cloth and when Sophia's hand touched his, she dragged the cloth from his grip.

"You don't have to help me. I can do it myself" Sophia sneered and started picking up the clothes. Jason watched her , amused.

Despite being treated like a slave, she still retained her proud attitude and her extraordinary beauty seemed to glow each passing day.

Jason just watched her without saying anything. When she made to pick the last cloth, he stepped on her hand.

"Hey. What do you think you're doing" She said looking up at him.

"You weren't giving me much attention. Thought I'd do something to get it".

"Jason this isn't funny now" She tried to pull her hand but Jason kept pressing down his leg on it, the sole of his shoe crushing her knuckles. "You're hurting me"

"That's the point of everything Sophia. To hurt you. But you don't seem to get it, do you" Jason looked at her enjoying the pain on her face. "That's why you're here Sophia. That's the only reason you're here. To feel pain. To suffer. Just like your father made my family suffer"

Sophia winced. She tried using her other hand to push him away but he bent down to her eye level and grabbed the hand. He looked into her eyes and all he could see was pure hate.

"I'm not my father" Sophia said tears welling up on her eyes with the pain she was feeling. Jason pressed his foot further. He badly wanted to see the tears flow down her cheeks but Sophia had promised herself never to cry in his presence. Or Angel's.

"What's wrong Sophia. Common tell me. Are you hurt" Jason said showing fake concern which made Sophia angry.

Suddenly Angel came out from the room and saw them. She got furious thinking that Jason was helping her pick up a cloth.

"Jason" She almost screamed. They were so close she thought they were about to kiss!!!
