She’s awfully calm about this

Rain, Carolinia and I were at my drawing table figuring out what our plan should be. When my room door opened, we gasped. There was no time to hide. The door swung fully open and my mom was in the doorway. She was looking right at us.

"Well, that's different." She stated calmly. Then she closed the door again.

We stared at the door in shock.

"What just happened?" Carolinia asked.

"It looks like we were discovered." Rain said worriedly.

I was still staring at the door. "Ding ding." My phone went off and snapped everyone to attention. I flew over and pushed the home button with all of my strength. It's hard being 3 inches tall, I thought to myself. On the screen, there was a message from my mom:

'Hey Celeste. Are you aware that there are 3 fairies in your room? Did you bring home another science experiment or something?'

I couldn't help but laugh. I thought about texting her back, but figured it would be better to show her instead. I mean she's already seen us right?
