Chapter 16

I only have a moment to prepare when a guy strolls into the kitchen like he lives here. I notice his green hair first. The color must be called something like wet grass because it's bright and really noticeable, which is probably what he's going for. The boy, who I assume is Sean, stands a little taller than me and sports a black shirt with matching wristbands. His dark jeans are ripped, like they've been put through hell, just like his once-black shoes, which are now grey from overuse. His face isn't terrible. I could see how he might be good looking if he smiled.

"What up." He nods at Alex and then glances at me. He gives me maybe two seconds of attention before returning focus to his friend. "You already eat?"

"Don't be a dick. This is my friend Autumn."
