Caroline Forbes was organizing and helping build houses in the Bayou.
Hayley wanted to make the Bayou better, she was trying to make a few restaurants and attractions in the Bayou so that they could expand the New Orleans tourism to the Bayou. She needed money for the bayou, for the wolves, they needed to make a better lifestyle for the wolves. And she couldn't think of a better organizer than Caroline.
Caroline had gladly accepted because it was like a party for her.
Klaus Mikaelson entered the house, he saw Freya sitting in the living room, she was reading something.
"Can I ask you something?" Freya stopped Klaus.
"Yes, sister?" Klaus stopped on the bottom of the stairs, he had just received the news that Caroline had come back to New Orleans.
"For the brief time, I have known you." She said, "I thought….Caroline would be much like you..crazy like you, impulsive like you...But she is quite the opposite!"
"What?" He was confused.
"I mean how are you interested in that neurotic control freak?" Freya asked.
"Freya, Caroline Forbes owns my heart." He told Freya, "She is the light in the darkness...all the seas of darkness there is. She is like a light, it hovers around me."
She stared at the person who behaved like an impulsive madman when she was around him, and was now a soft caring one.
"It has hovered over me, and only me…."
Freya Mikaelson could see the spark in his eyes, as she saw Klaus talk about Caroline.
"It's not in my control. And I was annoyed at it." Klaus told her, "But, now, I can't ignore it, nor do I want to!"
Freya smiled.
"If she's happy, I am happy." He looked at her, "If she's sad, I want to kill the person who makes her sad."
Freya looked at her brother, she nodded.
"And never call her things." He patted her hand, "I love her, Freya. I intend to marry her."
He had big plans for tonight. He was standing outside Caroline's room. He checked his pockets, the box was still there.
"I just hope you say yes." He whispered.
Kol Mikaelson who was standing in the doorway, listening to the whole conversation. He came up to her, and kept her arm around Freya.
"Just one tip, dear sister!" He told Freya. "Never say anything bad about Caroline."
"Oh…..I got that!" Freya smiled.
"But, she is a nice girl," Kol told her, "A very nice one. Just can't figure what she is doing with Nik!"
"His eyes…" Freya told him. "They say it all, he is in love with her."
"Big time," Kol raised his eyebrows. "In all the time I have spent with him, I saw him like this almost nine hundred years ago!"
Klaus Mikaelson knocked on Caroline's door,
"Hello, Love!"
She was standing on the terrace, looking outside.
"Hello.." She smiled widely.
"It's cold, Caroline." He told her,
"I am a vampire, Klaus." She told him. "I don't feel cold."
He took her hands,
"Caroline…" Klaus looked at her. "I have to ask you something."
She nodded,
"And this is something I wanted to ask you for a long long time." He told her.
"Okay…" She nodded. She was confused. She didn't know where he was going.
He flushed through his pocket, taking out the box. He opened it.
"Marry me, Caroline."
Her mouth opened in surprise. She looked at the ring. It was from the Victorian times, it was beautiful.
Klaus felt that moment to be the longest in his immortal life. Every moment he was with her, he felt it fleeting.
But this moment, it was as if it might never end.
"Say something, Caroline." He was getting impatient.
"Yes…." Caroline told him. It was a whisper, and Klaus felt as if he imagined it till she repeated it once again. "Yes…."
Klaus Mikaelson had a one sided smile on his face, he took her hand, placing the ring on her finger.
"I have always loved you, Caroline!" He told her. "Always and Forever."
"I love you, Klaus."
After three years of taking care of Stefan Salvatore's son, and then giving him back. Caroline was having a hard time easing into things, even though it had been a few months she couldn't feel good.
Caroline and Klaus didn't get married for four years, many things came up, Hope's life needed to be protected. They had bonded together to keep her safe.
After four years, Caroline hadn't seen Stefan or Zach. She had distanced herself so no one could hurt them. In all the problems she had gotten herself into since she had joined the Mikaelson family, she could even visit Mystic Falls. She was a targeted person, like everyone associated with the Mikaelsons were. She didn't want to bring trouble to her friends.
Still, she received forwarded pictures of her beloved nephew from Damon Salvatore. Each of them had the same note on the back.
"PS: Show them to Caroline."
Damon hadn't seen his brother in four years for the sake of his nephew's protection.
The day finally arrived, when the Salvatore brothers met again. Caroline saw her best friends again. She saw Elena and Bonnie again.
Caroline Forbes and Klaus Mikaelson were getting married, Caroline was standing in front of the mirror. She had gotten a Victorian wedding dress from Rebekah, since she wanted a Victorian themed wedding.
"Rebekah, I am loving the dress you gave me!"
Caroline turned around to see Rebekah in her room. Rebekah was standing at the door.
"You look absolutely amazing."
Caroline smiled,
"I just have one more thing for you." Rebekah came forward.
"Oh….You shouldn't have," Caroline told her,
She was grateful for the dress she had gotten.
"This has been in our family for centuries." She had a small necklace in her hand, and an ivory pendant with an 'M' in the middle.
"There were three." Rebekah told her, "And since I have been a Mikaelson for a long time, I thought I would pass it on to you. Hayley and the other one for Hope."
Caroline smiled. She took the box from Rebekah.
"To think we hated each other!" Rebekah shook her head.
"We grew." Caroline shrugged. "I mean I did….But you were like a thousand when we met!"
Rebekah laughed.
"We have something for you too." Caroline told Rebekah.
"We?" Rebekah was confused.
"Us…." Klaus Mikaelson came inside, "Me and Caroline."
Klaus came towards her, he opened the side table drawer, and took out a box.
