The Most Bachelor in Town

BELLADONNA: The Deadly Nightshade

12 – The Most Bachelor in Town

Belle rushed across the street that had been flooded from last night's rain. She jumped over the puddle and pulled up her jacket.

Finally, after paying her bills, last night she could sleep like a baby.

She could even enjoy a brunch in the nearest café. As she gulped down the hot soup with real meat and warm bread, she almost cry. Because it was the most luxurious meal she had been able to eat for the past two months and finally her stomach full.

She stopped as she was about to turn into the alley leading to the back door of the club. Her eyes were instantly alert when she recognized the figure standing at the end of the alley.

That person stood watching every girl who walked into the door beside the building.

Belle stepped back. Hiding behind a wall as her heart thumping into her chest. Shit. That guy came.

Belle stood under the canopy, she peeked observing the guy who seemed to be waiting for someone.

Waiting for her.

Belle sighed. Oh, shit.

She gripped the strap of her bag protectively. Inside, at the bottom of her messy bag, there was the guy's expensive leather wallet.

Last night, Belle had unpacked the contents and found the jackpot. A wad of cash that stacked in there has moved into her landlord. Enough money to pay for two months unpaid rent and three more months in advance.

She could breathe a sigh of relief for the next three months. The remaining twenty dollars she spent on delicious breakfast and expensive chocolate.

And now the wallet only had his cards left. No cash at all.

Belle had no intention of using the guy's credit card because she could be traced easily. She only needed the cash. Instead, she intended to send the wallet and cards to the address listed on the ID.

Finally, she knew who the guy was.

He is Gavin Kingston.

The most bachelor in town.

Holy shit.

Last night, she kissed the most wanted bachelor in town. No wonder the kiss was fantastic.

Belle bet on her reputation as Deadly Nightshade that the guy had an amazing track record when it come to women.

When they kissed, it felt like he turned off all of her sensed except for one. He numbed her brain, replacing it with an explosive feeling from within her body, as if someone had set off fireworks in her stomach.

Makes her dizzy and intoxicated.

If only Belle hadn't been so frustrated by the money problem, she would strip off her clothes and giving him the sweet time. It doesn't matter there were a bunch of her fellow dancer and his friend. She just wanted to feel the sensation when she touched him.

Belle glanced to the side, Gavin was still there. Standing between the sidewalk and the alley, watching one by one the girls pass by.

He wrinkled his eyes every time a girl walked by. His face showed both confusion and anger.

Belle gripped her bag tighter. Would it be better if she just ran away? Throw away that wallet and run for her life?

That seems like a good idea.

She can get rid the evidence far, far away.

Belle was thinking where to go to throw away Gavin's wallet when her cellphone rang loudly.

Frantically, Belle reached into her bag and rummaged through its contents before finally finding her cell phone that was playing a ringtone at high volume.

The screen flickered. Mark appears on caller ID.

Belle groaned silently and whispered, "Yes?"

"Where are you?" Mark answer matter-of-factly "training stats in ten minutes. Get your little ass here!"

Belle bit her lip to stop the curse that was about to escape from her mouth. She closed her eyes for a moment before replying, "I'm on my way, you ass!" and without warning, Belle hung up.

"Son of a—!"

"Excuse me."

Belle froze in her place. Too afraid to turn to the familiar voice. She gripped the phone tightly.

Oh, shit. Shit …. SHIT.

"You dropped this, Miss." Gavin's voice echoing through the alley.

Belle glanced and curse in her head when she realized Gavin was holding out her mask. She didn't notice that the mask had fallen out from the bag.

And now Gavin had picked it up. Return it to the owner.

The Deadly Nightshade.

Belle silently prayed that Gavin wouldn't notice the mask.

She slowly turned around and immediately put on her best smile, "Oh, yeah. Thank you."

With a swift movement, Belle snatched the mask from Gavin's hands and stuffed it in her bag carelessly.

Gavin smile at her, "Hi. Are you going to the club?" he asked, pointing to a dark door at the side of building.

"Eh, what…?" Belle pretending to be confused.

His expression changed, he scratched the nape of his neck, his cheeks turning red as he said, "Well, since you dropped that mask, I guess you work at that club."

"Oh, well …." Belle quickly racked her brains to get out of this awkward situation and run as far away from this guy as possible.

As much as she wanted to kiss Gavin Kingston again, she wanted to escape from the blinding and insane charm of a Kingston.

"I think I changed my mind. I'm not going in there."

Gavin frowned, "Why?"

Belle fidgeted where she stood, trying to make up a story, "I was just called in for an interview, but I don't think I can work at that club. You know, I don't have the guts to dance and shaking my ass at strangers. It's humiliating, right?"

For a few seconds Belle held her breath as Gavin looking at her intently.

"Well, I'm sorry…" whispered Gavin, "I thought you could help me since you're going in there."

"Yes?" asked Belle, raising her eyebrows. The voice in back of her head said that Gavin didn't realize who he was talking to.

"Uh, well …." Gavin looked awry, "look, I lost my wallet last night. I think I left it in the club."

Belle's heart pounded in her ribcage; she bit her lips as best as she could to hide her nervousness.

"I thought you could help me look for it, since I can't enter right now. I really need that wallet. everything in there, you know …."

Oh, she knows. Belle slowly nodded, "Well …."

"Can you check it out for me?"

A short breath caught in her throat when suddenly Gavin was standing too close to her. Staring at her intensely with his beautiful molten eyes.

"You would be a great help to me. If you could find my wallet there. I have no cash right now and all my cards are in that wallet, including my debit and credit cards, as well my ID and Driver License. I can't lose them."

His voice made Belle feeling uneasy. There was a feeling of guilt creeping up her spine, making her want to run all the way.

"O …. OK." Belle said hesitantly, "okay, I'll go inside and check it out for you."

Gavin's face turned into a smile. His eyes seemed to glow. For a moment Belle gaped at his good looks. Holy Heavens! It felt like she could hear her hormones screaming for the guy.

Belle forcing her feet to walk away from the handsome guy, she smiled back at Gavin and rushed towards the club door.

After all, Mark was waiting for her.

"Oh, hey!" Gavin called when Belle's hand was gripping the door handle.

"Y-yes?" Belle hesitantly turned her body to face Gavin.

"Thank you." Gavin flashed his deadly smile once more, making Belle's knees go limp for a moment.

Belle just waved and rushed inside.

HOLY SHIT. THAT WAS CLOSE!
