Lie

Lying is something that should be avoided for every human being. But in this day and age, lying has become a tradition to cover up a mistake. Lying for the sake of goodness is good. But if done continuously, will it not be exposed?

Since the incident that happened to Belvina yesterday, Anggi sat pensively next to Belvina's hospital bed. She thought hard about how to restore Belvina's memory. She was also confused, what to say to Belvina's parents later when they called. Should he lie? Yes, maybe Anggi should lie this time. He had to cover up that his best friend was in a disaster.

After all, lying for good doesn't hurt, right? She thought. The girl who was now lying on the sickbed had woken up earlier, and tried to understand that her name was Belvina after being told by her best friend, and Anggi also introduced herself as her best friend. But after waking up, Anggi asked her to go back to rest, because she didn't want anything worse to happen to her friend.

"Anggi? What's wrong with you? I see you're daydreaming about something," Anggi, who had been busy daydreaming, shook her head, turning her attention towards Belvina's bed. He was also surprised that his best friend suddenly woke up again from sleep.

"Ah, it's okay, Vin. I'm just thinking about something heavy, so my head's a bit dizzy," Anggi gave a fake smile at Belvina and then looked down. Not daring to look at the girl's face.

"Uh, how come you woke up again?" Anggi continued to change the subject.

"I can't sleep anymore, Anggi."

"Mmm, what if I tell you the story of how we became friends?"

"I don't know if that will make me fall asleep or not, but I'll try to listen. Hurry up and tell me, Anggi."

Anggi began to tell the story of the beginning of their friendship until Belvina began to sleep soundly. When Belvina fell asleep, Anggi bought two papers and also a brown envelope. She now began to write something on the nightstand next to Belvina's bed.

"I'm sorry, Vin. After fighting with my mind, I have to decide this for both of us. Tomorrow I'll go to the office and hand this over to Mr. Kevin." Tears fell from Anggi's eyes. Actually, he didn't want to decide such an important thing unilaterally. 

She just didn't want to meet the person who had hurt her and her best friend.  It was hard to let go of the work that had been obtained so far, but Anggi did not want anything bad to happen to the two of them, so he had to decide immediately.

In the morning, Belvina woke up from her sleep, she was a little surprised by Anggi's suspicious behavior. She tried to ask Anggi about it.

"What's wrong with you, Anggi?"

"Nothing, Vin. I have some business today, so I have to leave for a while, is that okay?"

"Yes, no problem Anggi. I'm getting better too, hehe. I'm also bored with the hospital atmosphere, I want to see the outside world,"

"Alright then, Vin. I'll go first,"

"Yes, Anggi."

Anggi had arrived at the 'Shinning Dolls' company, she decided to resign from the workplace. Not only Anggi, of course, but also Belvina. Anna also suggested that Belvina leave the doll company too. It was actually a shame to leave, but what else could we do? Belvina was also recovering, Anggi also didn't like the performance in the doll company because there seemed to be something that was always covered up and what made Anggi really want to resign was because the daughter of the company owner was the girl who had almost slapped her before Belvina prevented her. Anggi remembered very well, the face of that sly girl.

"Why did you and Belvina resign, Anggi?" Mr. Kevin asked Anggi who was sitting in front of him.

"Sorry, sir, in advance. Belvina and I resigned because of the incident yesterday. Belvina has lost her memory and her parents in the village are not aware of this problem. I'm just afraid that Belvina will not recognize her own parents and bring more problems to Belvina's relationship with her parents," Anggi tried to explain to Mr. Kevin, even though her reasoning did not make sense, but Anggi would not change what had become her decision.

"Well, if that's what you want, I can't force you.  I can only pray for Belvina's speedy recovery," Mr. Kevin could only agree because he could not force if it was like this.

"Yes, sir. Thank you. I take my leave. Thank you for everything, including the hospital fees that have been covered by the company."

"Yes, you're welcome. Be careful on the road."

Shortly after Belvina had been allowed to go home, both of them had now gotten jobs again, of course in a more decent place at WR Bank. Even though they were recovering their memories, they both worked very hard, from leaving at 6am to 4pm in the morning. They did it together and sincerely. Until finally Belvina has little by little remembered how she fell down the stairs and ended up covered in blood. Now Belvina and Anggi were having lunch at a D'cheese restaurant close to their workplace. While enjoying her meal, Belvina asked Anggi.

"Anggi, I have something to ask you,"

"What is it, Vin?"

"Do you know which stairs I fell down? You said I fell on the stairs of a company, is that our current workplace?" Belvina, who was eating, choked because his question shocked her to death.

"Uhuk! Uhuk! Uhuk!" Anggi took the drinking water she ordered and gulped it down slowly.

"Why are you suddenly asking that?" Instead of getting an answer, Anggi asked Belvina back.

"I always have dreams and memories about that incident, and I'm sure that at that time someone pushed me from behind. But I can't see who the person behind all the events that I experienced was. Anggi, let's investigate this. I just want to know why he was so willing to take someone's life. Come on, Anggi, come on, yes," Belvina coaxed Anggi into doing what she wanted.

"Huh..." Anggi let out a long sigh. Anggi's face turned cold.

"Never mind, don't ask about it anymore," Anggi replied briefly and continued her lunch.

"Why Anggi? What's going on? I just want to know, why don't you seem to want me to know?" Asked Belvina curiously.

"Never mind Vin, forget about that problem, now we only look at the future, don't ever reminisce about the past," Anggi smiled and stroked Belvina's shoulder. Belvina only looked at Anggi with a surprised look. She was also confused, why did Anggi always change the subject when she asked about this matter? What exactly was Anggi's intention by hiding the truth? Then Belvina could only remain silent, it would be better if Anggi told it herself, she thought.

When they left the restaurant, Belvina and Anggi intended to return to WR Bank's office. However, while on the way, from a distance Belvina saw a young man carrying his cane who was walking and was almost hit by a car. Not wanting anything unwanted to happen, Belvina ran as hard as she could to save the young man. Anggi, who knew that Belvina was running, was surprised and finally she ran after Belvina. Unfortunately, Anggi was far behind Belvina. With a quick movement Belvina pulled the young man's arm and hugged him, directing the young man to the side of the road so that he wouldn't be hit by a car.

Grep!

They did not fall to the asphalt, but stood on the side of the road. Belvina was also still hugging the man's thin body.

"Are you hurt? Are you okay?" with a panicked expression on her face, Belvina confirmed the condition of the man in her arms.

And just then, Anggi arrived at the place where Belvina and the man were, Anggi was surprised that the person Belvina saved was the owner of the very famous GF Corp.

It was getting late, Belvina and Anggi were watching television in their inn. The two of them sat together in the living room while occasionally eating fruit that had been cut into pieces. Belvina also ate a piece of apple while asking questions about the man she saved earlier this afternoon.

"Anggi, do you know anything about the skinny man I helped that afternoon? Why was your reaction so surprised when I saved him? Do you know him?" Asked Belvina, Anggi immediately turned his face towards the right, where Belvina was sitting.

"Vin, you're probably just tired, that's why you're slurring your words. Now you just go to bed," Anggi waved his hand, ordering Belvina to go to her room. Unexpectedly, Belvina held Anggi's hand.

"Why Anggi? Why do you always avoid my questions? I really want to know the real facts that happened to me. But why are you always evasive!" Belvina shouted in a raised tone, making Anggi turn her face in the other direction, not wanting to look at Belvina's face.

"Why Anggi? Answer me!"

"Because I'm afraid you'll get sick again, Belvina!!!" Anggi was no less loud with Belvina, with reddened eyes glaring at Belvina. Actually, she didn't want to tell her about this but Belvina kept pressing her. One teardrop fell from Anggi's eyes. Anggi let go of Belvina's hand.

"Yes, ever since you fell down the stairs of that doll company, every day I've been shrouded in fear. When your parents called, I had to be willing to lie about your true condition so that they wouldn't worry. And do you know Belvina, why did we have to leave the company? It's because our boss, Mr. Kevin, has handed over the responsibility to his daughter, Raya Vinancia. Do you know who Raya Vinancia is, Vin? She's the girl who almost slapped me when we first arrived here in Jakarta. Do you remember? Raya is a bad person, Vin. That's why I decided that we should just quit the company," Anggi paused her sentence.

"And Raya was also the mastermind behind the incident where you fell down the stairs," hearing that, Belvina widened her eyes in disbelief and covered her mouth with both hands.

"How do you know that, Anggi? Do you have any proof?"

"I don't have any proof, but my gut feeling says so, Vin,"

Belvina tried to recall the events before she fell down the stairs while holding her dizzy head. She was frantic with memories that were gradually being revealed.

"So, what about that man? What does he have to do with me?" Belvina asked again.

"I don't know about that, Belvina. All I know is that he is the CEO of GF Corporation. He's also the man of Jakarta girls' dreams. So, you won't be able to get him, don't get your hopes up," Anggi sarcastically said.

"That's why you were surprised when I saved him?" Anggi nodded, agreeing with Belvina.

After the argument was over, Anggi and Belvina went to sleep in their respective rooms.

This morning, Belvina left for the office first, because she wanted to take a walk by herself while breathing fresh air in the morning. Anggi was surprised by Belvina's attitude that had changed, what could she do if her best friend had asked? Anggi could only obey her. Belvina was now taking the bus to her office, while she was busy looking at the outside scenery from the bus window, her eyes now caught the figure of the man she saved yesterday.

"He's right... Gifer Fernandez the CEO of GF Corporation? What is he doing there?" Belvina asked.

"Sir, stop here!"

Belvina got off the bus, just as people were heading towards the man who was about to carry out his action. Belvina was able to stop the man from his crazy act.
