Chapter 36: Soon You'll Get Better

Margot had a unique way of frustrating Kate. Her grandmother was set in her ways and had the maddening ability to make an insult sound like a compliment. She was frightfully intelligent and impractical. And she had dirt on every single person in her social circle.

Kate could see what a formidable woman Margot must've been in her youth. She didn't think anyone with common sense would cross Margot unless they had a death wish.

Margot was trying to teach Kate about the Sable family history which was beginning to overwhelm Kate. They hadn't even gotten past the Victorian era and Kate was already tired. There was no way she could learn everything in a week. She couldn't even get through all the books Margot was recommending to her.

Kate was trapped in a private history course where she was the only student and Margot was probably going to test her at the end of the week. She didn't know how Cathal survived this growing up or why he wasn't completely unhinged.
