Letting it out

Man... Just what is up with my luck lately...?

For a moment, I thought I had finally found the solution to all of my problems the second I heard this weird girl was Kurt's sister...

But now?

Now I'm starting to think the universe just straight up hates me.

In front of me stands an angry-looking lady in her early twenties with long black hair tied up, wearing a sleeveless hooded shirt and black pants and sneakers, my aunt Ellie. She's glaring at me with her sapphire-like blue eyes as if I had killed her dog or something.

On my left and on my side are her two friends, Joseph, a kinda pale blond guy with brown eyes wearing a red jacket and black shorts, and Claire, a lady with chocolate skin, short curly hair, and a piercing gaze, wearing a blue shirt and brown pants.

The two of them would hang out with aunt Ellie all the time and would often play with me when I was young after I moved to Evlin's house with my mother... But right now, they look at me as if they wanted to rip my head off.

Lastly, behind me, is a lady that I don't recognize, but she kinda looks like Marcia if she was a little older, except while Marcia has golden-like hazel eyes, this lady has the same eye color as Eclipse. Pure red, just like her shirt.

Her glare is not as intense as the other three, but she doesn't look like she will become my best friend anytime soon either...

From their expressions, they all probably are looking at me and Marcia and thinking we are a pair of dragons.

Meanwhile, the actual dragon is just trying her best to hold her laughter under Eclipse's paw. She would probably be eating popcorn right now while enjoying my distress if she could.

"Marcia... In how much trouble are we in...?" I whisper.

If these guys are as strong as my mom was, I had no desire to start a fight with them.

"A lot..." she replies, "Basically... we are not getting out of here alive if we make a single wrong move..."

I study her face and she seems like she had seen every single horror movie on the planet at the same time. Marcia was a rather powerful person herself, so if they managed to get her this worried, I dread to think of just how dangerous they might be.

"Nobody makes any sudden move!!" aunt Ellie shouts all of sudden.

I'm not sure what she means but then I follow her gaze and finally understand, she's looking at the dragon girl that was disguising herself as a person.

"Lance..." Marcia talks again, "No matter what happens... Don't let her get away from you..."

I finally got it. The reason they haven't attacked us yet is because they are worried about getting a 'civilian' caught in the crossfire.

"We need to get out of here... Can you open a portal to the shadow realm?"

"Maybe... But if I do, she might run away..."

"We have no choice... If we anger these four, they will turn us into minced meat... Just give up on her..."

Give up on her??

I finally get a chance at finding out how to lift this curse and now I have to just let it get away!!?? Do I really have to do this??

"But... We might not get another chance like this!!"

"Lance, it's not worth the risk!!"

"But... But...!!"

The girl starts to snicker, she can barely hold her joy from appearing on her face. I killing myself trying to find out how to get out of here a life while she just enjoys the show!!

I can't let her get the best of me!!

"No!! I'm not letting this end like this!!" I declare.

"Lance, wait!!"

I lift my wooden sword to threaten her again but the moment I do so, my entire body is sent flying by a blast of electricity.

"Gaaaaghhh!!"

"Lance!!!"

I roll on top of the street after getting blasted and notice that one of aunt Ellie's friends, Joseph, had his arm raised and pointing at me while wielding some kind of wooden bracelet.

"What the hell...?" I mumble.

"This one is mine!!" he shouts as he starts to approach me with his fist raised.

I look again and notice that his arm is starting to light up and cover itself with electricity.

"Lance!! Run!! All of them are mages!! They will kill you if you don't move!!"

All of them are mages???

He finally reaches me and I do my best to block his punch with my sword.

My shadow magic and his lightning magic clash and the two of us are sent flying in opposite directions.

"Lance!!" Marcia screams.

"Joseph!!" aunt Ellie shouts as well.

"I'm fine!!" both he and I answer at the same time as we recover from the impact.

We start running at each other again but before I could get closer, I see a ball of fire appearing right next to my ear and increasing in size at a rapid pace.

Marcia rushes to cover me with a golden barrier right as the ball goes from the size of a dice to the size of a basketball a suddenly blows up right next to my face.

If it wasn't for Marcia's barrier, my face would be in pieces.

"Hey, Claire!!" Joseph shouts, "I said he was mine!!"

I turn my head and notice that the curly-haired lady, Claire, also had a bracelet made of wood aimed at me.

These bracelets were probably their magic staffs, just like my wooden sword.

"Oh, just stay quiet... This isn't some kind of game or comic book... There are lives at stake!" miss Claire replies while glaring at him.

"Can you at least handle the other one while I deal with this thing?" Joseph requests.

Claire rolls her eyes and finally gives in, "Fine... But don't blame me if he bites your head off..."

Oh no! She's going after Marcia!!

"WAIT!!! STOP!!!"

I try to rush at her but Joseph jumps in front of me and tries to punch me with his lighting fist again.

Somehow I manage to evade his move, but a long beam of energy starts coming out of his fist.

"What's this now??" I grumble.

He waves his hand and the beam starts to warp its shape. I then realize it wasn't a beam, it was a whip!! He had released a whip of electricity!!

"You're not getting away!!" he declares while smacking me with his whip, and right after that, sending another blast of electricity over my body.

"Gaaaaahhh!!!"

"Oh... That sounded like it hurt... Did I go too far...?"

Yes!! Yes, you did!! Even if I look like a dragon, is it really necessary for THIS much aggressiveness??

Aunt Ellie then steps a little closer while still keeping her eye on Eclipse and begins to scream, "Joseph!! Don't hesitate! Remember that our entire group almost got killed by a dragon in the past!! Show no mercy!!"

Oh... Cool... Turns out aunt Ellie has some kind of grudge against dragons... Just what needed...

At the corner of my eye, I notice Marcia trying not to get hit by a series of mini-explosions being released by miss Claire.

She's doing her best not to waste too much energy by instead of creating one huge barrier, making several small ones to contain the balls of fire.

It looked like she had got it under control, but aunt Ellie's third friend finally decided to join the fight as well.

"Claire, need a hand?" the woman with red eyes asked while going to her side.

"Thanks, Dia!"

The two began to hold hands and the woman known as Dia suddenly disappeared, and instead, a red metal bracelet appeared on Claire's arm, infused with her wooden bracelet.

This is the same thing that happened with my mother when aunt Ellie vanished and a sword appeared in her hand back in the apartment.

So did they had the same power? To turn into a weapon?

Claire started to unleash her fireballs again, but this time they were popping up at a much greater speed and even more powerful.

Marcia was trying her best to contain them, but she wasn't fast enough, nor were her constructs strong enough.

It looked like that red bracelet had made Claire's magic somehow much stronger.

While I was distracted worrying about Marcia, Joseph used this chance to attack me one more time.

"Come at me, bro!!" he said while raising his hand, and suddenly, my entire body raised from the ground and began to be pulled towards him.

"Hey, hey, hey!! What the hell is this!!??"

It was like he had control over gravity or something. No, wait. It wasn't gravity, it was like I was a piece of metal being attracted by a giant magnet.

Was that a thing too?? Magnetic magic??

He then aimed his arm to the ground and a pair of spikes made of rock sprung from the soil, just waiting to stab me.

I didn't know what else to do so I just stabbed the pavement with my sword to stop myself. Of course, a normal wooden sword would never be able to do that, but Marcia told me that t while my weapon was surrounded by shadow magic, it could pierce and cut anything!

"Oh, so you have some tricks under your sleeve! Not bad! But this isn't my first rodeo!"

He aimed his arm at me again, and I could sense my body being pulled one more time. I had to do something, but what??

Marcia was in no condition to help me while Claire continued to storm her with her annoying mini-bombs.

And Eclipse had to hold the dragon girl still, otherwise, these guys would come at us with full power.

Aunt Ellie was the only one who hadn't made a move yet. She was simply waiting for the chance to save that two-faced lizard.

If only I could talk to them... But this curse stops them from understanding my words!!

At that moment, my eye catches a glimpse of the woman who worked in the bakery. She was so busy sobbing over her place being destroyed that she hadn't even noticed the commotion right behind her.

That's it!! If I can't talk to them, I can just ask her to talk for us!!

"Eclipse!!!" I shout, and my lion comes running to my aid.

"Lance!! No!!" Marcia yells, but it was too late.

Eclipse had already started to come to save me by pouncing on Joseph and breaking me free from his magic.

Sadly, the dragon girl used this chance to rush to aunt Ellie's side.

As I expected, she was playing the victim card and pretending to cry about how "scared" she was and how glad that they had appeared to save her.

"Oh!! It was so horrible!! Every second I stayed there, I feared for my life thinking that these things would eat me!!"

"Don't worry, miss! Just go somewhere safe! We will handle this" Ellie asked.

I wanted to strangle that shark-teethed freak, but I had no time to waste.

While Ellie, Joseph, and Claire were distracted by Eclipse, Marcia, and the dragon girl, I needed to use this chance to run to the bakery woman and talk to her.

I began to move my legs, but before I even finish my second step, I sense a hand grabbing me from behind and smacking me against the ground.

"Guaaaaahhh!!!"

"Lance!!!"

What in the world just happened??

I lift my head and aunt Ellie is on top of me, holding me down with one hand.

She was so far away and the next thing I know she is right next to me, just how fast is this woman?? I thought her only power was to turn into a sword!!

"I saw you trying to eat that civilian... Don't think I'm just gonna let you harm innocents while I'm here..."

"Please!! You don't understand!! This is all a mistake!!"

I try to scream by my words clearly are not reaching her.

"Kyaaahhh!!!"

I hear Marcia's scream of pain and realize that her constructs were starting to run out of power again and didn't manage to block the explosions anymore.

"Rooooaaarr!!"

Next, I see Eclipse crying as Joseph just finished blasting him with a lightning spell.

"Marcia!! Eclipse!!!"

"Stop struggling!!" Ellie orders while hitting me in the back with a heavy punch, "You think you can just invade my world and harm my people??"

"I... Am... Your... Peopl- Gaaahh!!!"

She smacks me a second time and my mouth starts to spill some blood.

She's not even using any magic but her punches are so strong.

All of them... They are all so strong... How can anyone or anything put up a fight with these guys??

I lift my head one more time and then I see her... The dragon girl with brown hair, shape teeth, and orange eyes...

Al the way in the back, looking at me with a wide grin, laughing, and then vanishing completely after entering an alley.

This...

This was what they wanted!!

The dragons... They invaded my world and casted this illusion on us... All so that we would destroy each other so they didn't have to.

I hate them!

I hate them!!!

I hate all of them!!

I hate all the dragons!!!

[... K...]

I hate every single one of them!!

[... Ki...]

I wanna find all the dragons and end them all!!

[... Kill...]

Every single one of them!!! I'm gonna find all the dragons!!!

[KILL...]

And I'm gonna kill all of them!!!

[KILL!!]

Kill all the dragons!!!

[Kill all the dragons!!]

Kill all the dragons!!!!

[Kill all the dragons!!!]

[[[KILL ALL THE DRAGONS!!!]]]

"What the...?" Aunt Ellie gasped as she noticed my body exploding and engulfing itself in a pillar of fire that burned in three different colors.

She jumped away from me and began to stare with horror as I lifted myself from the ground.

I could sense my consciousness slowly fading away, and the last thing I remembered...

...was the extreme desire to unleash my rage...
