The rest of the school days for that week passed by in a blur to Liam until the weekend. It was safe to say that it was the worst week of his life. Nothing made sense to him. Even his classes, he had simply attended them to get his name on the attendance list and not lose points. His mind was heavy with a lot of thoughts running through it. He couldn't sleep at night, couldn't eat either. One would think his conversation with his father would make him take soccer very seriously. But he also could not play. The practice had been a disaster. When his teammates didn't react like he had expected them to or grumbled about how he was pulling them down, he guessed his coach must have told them something because even his coach had been a lot nicer to him and he knew it was because his father had told him that his mother was sick.
