A Late Start The next morning, Fara strolled into the office a bit later than usual, her mind still swirling from the events of the previous day.
She headed straight for the elevator, her heels clicking against the polished floor. As the doors slid open on the 20th floor, she stepped out and scanned the area. No sign of Ziggy. No mischievous grin or playful banter waiting for her.
"Thank goodness," she thought, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.
After the awkwardness between her, Clint, and Ziggy, she was grateful for a quiet day. She needed some peace after the sleepless night spent tossing and turning, replaying every moment in her head. But she knew she had to be firm with Ziggy. Their arrangement was supposed to be no strings attached, no one controlling anyone. She had planned to talk to him about it when the time was right, but now, with the day stretching ahead of her, she hoped that time would come soon.
