Chapter 12

She heard the shuffle of keys opening the cell entrance .she lifted herself and peered, it was midnight and she wondered what the guards were executing at that hour.

" who's there?" she inquired. Her young heart slammed against her chest in uncertainty.

" it's me, darling."

She heard his voice. that voice she despised. that voice that makes her tremble in despair.

Sir Rufus stood before her.

" what do you want?" Serena asked with distaste.

She couldn't bear the thought of staying in a room with him.

" nothing my dear..but to make a bargain with you".

" I don't want to bargain, " She said sternly. he laughed and yanked her hair pulling her close.

Serena utter a cry and struggled to get away.

" agree to bargain with me, I have the crest key and I'll get us out of here".

" No" Serena retorted." I won't..just let me go!"

" then you rot here forever my dear. the king will slaughter you like a bull. follow me and be my queen, and I'll set you free here and now."
