“Then stick with what you’re feeding her as long as you can afford to buy it. I put her on Enfamil with Iron in the hospital because it was a premium formula and I was intent on Bella gaining weight.”

“For us, thank God, the money’s not a problem, her health is what’s important,” Carlo told the doctor.

“Good, I wish that was the case with all of my patients. Here’s where I give my pitch to donate cases of formula to the local food bank. There are many mothers who can’t nurse and aren’t able to afford the formula the baby needs, so they water it down and the baby doesn’t get the nutrition it has to have to grow strong,” Dr. Baumgartner said.

“We’ll do that. We can afford a couple of cases and we’ll ask our friends,” Jack said thoughtfully.

“Good, the food bank is a pet charity of mine. Some people make too much money for food stamps but not enough to feed their families. The food bank fills in the gap. I’ll see Bella Friday of next week at two?”
