Chapter 17

*Unknown*

I don't believe this! The Morningstar farm is blown to ash and yet one still remains! I punched a wall of the shack that I had used to summon my master from. The Mayflower family are the witches of this town but if I don't have the Morningstars all dead then I can't move on them yet! I asked my followers to place the bomb in the basement of the Morningstar farm about a week ago and they can't get one simple job right! It took me days to figure out demons and angels' weaknesses! It was not easy to ask Abaddon, the King of Demons, to hand me $10,000 worth of a special metal just for the fragments of the bomb alone. It also wasn't easy to build a bomb that size either without looking suspicious. This town is small and there are only so many stores with these supplies. I take a deep breath. I need to be calm. I'll just ask my master to see if there is any other way to kill this Damian Morningstar without causing suspicion to my cult. I lit the candles I used for the summoning before and chant the ancient words once again. Before me stands a tall dark shadow man. This is not my master's true form but I know it is him just from the authority oozing off of his aura alone.

"You again?" He asks, annoyed. "Wait, is it done already?"

"Not yet, Master. I need advice from you. Michael, Misty, and Owen Morningstar are dead but one still remains. His name is Damian Morningstar. He survived and now I have no idea how to proceed." I bow before him. Before I rise, I am struck in the face with a hard hit.

"YOU FOOLISH INSIGNIFICANT WRETCH! HE IS THE HARDEST ONE TO KILL! HE IS IN HIS PRIME AND YET YOU ALLOW HIM TO WALK?!"

"Master please, it was an honest mistake made by my followers. The rest of the family is dead! What's the big deal if he survives?" This makes my master's eyes turn red with rage and I find myself cowering in his presence. Maybe I went too far with asking that question. He sighs and pulls me up.

"Damian Morningstar is the one that defines Hell and Heaven. He is both a demon and an angel in human form. The prophecy states that vengeance is his only way to peace and with boiling blood he will seek the Dark Lords of the umbral plains and wreak havoc on those he sees are worthy of the bite of his sword. It is only a matter of time before the beast within him is unleashed upon our worlds. The Primordials themselves even fear that they will not be able to do anything against him. Even with their infinite wisdom and strength, they cannot interfere until it is too late. I objected to their rules and now you see where I am. A realm of darkness, hatred. Where primal instinct is the only way to survive. That is why I must prove them wrong and change the balance of fate. Do you see now, son?" He asks.

"Yes, father." I say.

"Good. Now I trust you to figure out how to undo your mistake. Do not come for me unless you have killed both the demon angel and the witch that he has named his beloved. Do I make myself clear?" I nod. "When they are both dead, I will merge the realms. We will rule as one and those Primordials will fear us once fate is changed. Those who change fate are the ones that can kill any creation. I don't care if it takes you years to accomplish you and I's goals, don't stop until he is dead." And with that, my own father that I must call master disappears. Don't worry father, I will make you proud.

*Ember*

I opened my eyes to one of the greatest sights that has ever graced my eyes. Damian was sleeping peacefully almost as if he was content with just being here with me. One of his arms is wrapped around my waist, making me feel warm and safe under it. A cool breeze floats through my room and I shiver instantly. Why am I so cold? I could have sworn I had clothes on. Last night's memories start to flood my mind and I look down… OH MY GOD I'M PRACTICALLY NAKED!!! I turn crimson as I yank up the covers. This must have woken Damian because next thing I know, he's looking at me while smiling.

"Good morning, Ember."

I clear my throat, trying to calm down. "Good morning, Damian." I decided to change topics. "Damian?"

"Hmm?"

"When we had that moment last night, was everything you said true? Including the song?"

He props himself up on his arm, looking deep into my eyes. "Ember, everything that came out of my mouth last night came from the heart. I love you so much and I confessed everything that I feel for you. It was all true. I would never lie to you." He cups my face before planting a gentle kiss on my lips. "I'm going to go get washed up, ok?" I nod my head. "Ok." He gets out of the bed, stretching as he stands up. I can't help but notice the fact that he is in his boxers.

"Oh my Heaven's, look at this God." I look around in a panic, hoping I didn't say that out loud. But then again, that didn't sound like my voice. Who was that?

"Oh hello. I'm Jade. Ignore me while I admire this piece of art in front of us."

"Who are you?! Why are you in my head!? And most of all, WHY ARE YOU WATCHING MY BOYFRIEND?!"

"First of all, chill out. Secondly, I'm part of you. And thirdly, he's our boyfriend. Oh and the name's Jade."

"Well Jade, you never said what the hell you are!"

"I'm your demon/witch. Now let me go back to watching Damian." I can sense her practically drooling in my head. Well I assume that it's a her. Damian leaves the room, finally causing this Jade to shut up. I leap out of bed, finding my shorts on the floor. I'm desperately searching for my shirt when I hear a muffled meow. I look over at my doorway to see Binx attempting to walk in with my shirt in his mouth.

"Binx oh thank God!" I take the shirt from him and slip it on. "You are a lifesaver."

"You're welcome." I look around once again. That definitely wasn't Jade this time. I look at Binx.

"Did you just speak?" He blinks. I narrow my eyes. Binx lets out a loud yawn before making his way over to me, rubbing himself against me. Damian peeks his head in.

"I'm all done if you need in the bathroom."

"Thanks." I smile.

"Binx, I have to be going crazy." I say as I get out of the shower. "First the Jade thing and then I swear I heard you speak." I look over at Binx. "Quit judging me!" He practically rolls his eyes. "Cats." I quickly dry off and get dressed before throwing my dirty clothes in the hamper. I finally head downstairs to eat some breakfast.

I walk next to my mom in Walmart, helping her with her shopping. "Hey mom?"

"Yes, Ember?"

"Earlier today something weird happened."

"Oh?"

"Damian was shirtless this morning and a voice all of a sudden started talking in my head saying about how cute he was and stuff. It called itself Jade and it said it's my demon/witch. Then Binx brought me something too and I thanked him. After that a voice said 'you're welcome' but there was no one there besides me and Binx."

"Oh Ember, that's your demon witch. She's a part of you. I'm surprised she's showing up early though. Usually we don't get our other halves until we turn 18."

"Do you have another half?"

"Yes I do. Her name is Lilian. She's my witch."

"What about the voice saying you're welcome?"

"Part of being a witch gives you the ability to talk to animals. You might have heard Binx talking."

"Oh ok. Well at least I know I'm not crazy. Also, can I make a special dinner for Damian tonight?"

My mom smiles at me. "Yes you can."

I instantly head to the pasta aisle, grabbing spaghetti and sauce. I plan on making my own meatballs so I also grab a pack of hamburger from the meat section. Lastly, I grab a pack of texas toast garlic bread. We finish up shopping and head home. As soon as we walk in the door, we unload groceries and I grab a pot, a pan and a baking sheet. I preheat the oven and start boiling the water for the pasta, breaking the spaghetti in half. I unwrap the hamburger and toss it in a pan, throwing in a little seasoning. I put the garlic bread in the oven. Once the water is boiling, I place the spaghetti in the pot and set a timer before turning back to the meat. I chop it up and continue browning it. Once everything is done, I drain the spaghetti and mix in the sauce and meat. I take the garlic bread out of the oven. I use a spaghetti spoon to spoon some spaghetti onto each plate and put the garlic bread on a separate plate. I take everything outside, turning on the string lights to help set the mood. I hear the door open and I head inside, seeing Damian.

"Damian?"

"Yeah Ember?"

"I made something special for us tonight. Can you come outside to see it?" He smiles at me and follows me outside before stopping in his tracks. I smile softly. "I hope you enjoy it. I made everything special for us tonight."
