The light had dimmed by the time we made it back inside, and I squinted a little to adjust my eyes to the dark shade of blue suffusing the cabin. Bai Ye noticed as he lowered me into the bed. "Want to see me better?" he asked with a naughty smile. Raising a hand, he summoned his spiritual power into a bright orb in his palm, lighting up the space. Uttering a few words under his breath, he sent the orb floating into the air, hanging above us at the center of the ceiling.
I chuckled. "Always," I said, pulling the sash over his waist loose. The collar of his robe opened, and I traced my hands down his chest, feeling his strong heartbeat under my fingertips as his skin glowed under the steady light. "I like seeing you," I added and slid the layers off his shoulders, "all of you."
