Mason

*bang*bang* gunshots resounded through the night as Taskmaster fired at them. Taskmaster got even closer pulling to their side, at this moment Inessa opened up her sending Taskmaster to the ground.

But as the went down Taskmaster fired a throwing knife into one of the car's tires taking it out of commission and causing the car to go of road and straight into a three.

"ow... what the hell!" Yelena exclaimed as she held her forehead which was now bleeding.

All three of them stumbled out of the car to see Taskmaster who was heading straight for them with a shield at hand. Jeff who was already in full gear fired a batarang at Taskmaster's head which they rose their shield to guard against.

In doing so though they temporarily blocked their line of sight, pulling the shield away they saw to feet right before they made contact with their face.

The resulting force sent Taskmaster flying back but they used their shield to bounce back to their feet. Batman didn't let this opportunity go as he came with a batarang and sliced down at Taskmaster but Taskmaster moved to side to avoid the strike not forgetting to fire his shield at the girls.

Batman and Taskmaster began to engage in hand to hand combat and he experienced Taskmaster's ability first hand as he felt as though he was fighting himself.

The scowl behind his mask grew deeper as Batman made some space between them and sent an explosive batarang straight at Taskmaster but the shield returned to thier arm at that moment, allowing them to block it.

Yelena took advantage and tried to rush them, but Taskmaster reacted quickly delivering a few jabs alongside a kick to her side before flipping back and landing in a pose with the shield at their back.

Yelena came to halt as she saw that posture, in that moment a figure overlapped with the image before her, which caused her to just stand there and stare.

Inessa on the other hand didn't hesitate to fire her gun at Taskmaster. Taskmaster nimbly avoided all the shots and came at Inessa with a strong right hook but Batman fired his grappling hook which wrapped around Taskmaster's fist before sending right through the woods.

"Come on" Batman pulled the two girls along as they ran straight through the woods. "what now? that guy's going to come after us soon" Inessa questioned as they made their way through the woods.

"I have a plan" was all Batman said.

Taskmaster soon arrived at a Clif and looked down, below was a river. Taskmaster checked the tracker's location once more and confirmed it's position was in the river before jumping in.

Seconds after jumping Batman alongside the girls at his side appeared where Taskmaster stood. "we've got to go, it won't be long before they realize we ditched the tracker" Batman turned around soon after.

"What do we do now? I mean we don't have a car or anything how do we get out of here" Inessa asked the important question and Yelena who was unusually quiet spoke up "I know a guy".

A man soon arrived in a car to pick all three of them up, " hello Yelena been a few years", "hey Mason" Yelena greeted back before getting in.

Jeff who had taken off the suit stared at the guy called Mason. "so Mason how do you know Yelena?" Jeff questioned as Mason started the car and drove them off.

"I helped her sister some time back and got to know her then." Jeff quirked his eyebrows hearing of this mysterious sister again, Jeff wasn't sure but he had the feeling he might know her.

"Oh yeah, Mason we need chopper to go find my father" Yelena remembered that they need a helicopter if they were going to get her father. "A helicopter huh, don't worry I got you"

Meanwhile with Taskmaster, they walked out of the river with a tracker in their hand as Taskmaster realized they ditched the tracker and escaped.

Taskmaster crushed the tracker before making their way into the woods, but came to halt once when they received a call.

"Is it done?"

"They managed to escape, but I am on them." Taskmaster responded, but was cut off by the other person. "you're ordered to return to base"

Taskmaster kept silent for a minute before responding, "understood".
