New Students

A few weeks later the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters welcomed seven new students. Mid-Tech High suffered a huge loss as its most gifted students left. 

The two teachers in charge of the field trip, Julias Dell and Roger Harrington were held responsible because the seven students mentioned the lack of supervision by the teachers was part of the reason they were kidnapped. They were both fired.

Now that they were home they didn't feel safe at the school. They also received offers from the Xavier School, which they eagerly accepted. Xavier's school boasted several notable scientists, philosophers, and thinkers as alumni. 

Flash Thompson was now the smartest kid in the school and Peter Parker was leaving, so he was happy.

Gwen's father was irate when he learned that Oscorp endangered his daughter and her classmates. He joined a class action lawsuit against the corporation along with the other parents of kidnapped children. 

The legal matters were still happening in the background of these students' lives. The most important thing for them was that they were moving into the student dorms.

There were only two months left of the school year, but due to the students' circumstances, academic achievements, and extracurricular volunteer work, they were on schedule to finish their sophomore year of High School. 

The whole gang moved in on Saturday. The four boys were moved into a dorm room together.

MJ and Mary Jane were moved into one room with two other girls, Cessily Kincaid (Mercury), and Ruth Aldine (Blindfold). Gwen moved in with three students named Hope Abbot (Trance), Sofia Mantega (Wind Dancer), and Megan Gwynn (Pixie).

The kids' spider powers were kept secret, while their other abilities were their official reason for getting in. 

Peter's powers: Pamnesia (or absolute memory) and super strength. Mary Jane: telepathy and telekinesis.

MJ: shadow and shadow walking. Harry: Animal taming and mutation and beast dimension.

Ned: super strength 20 tons and invulnerability (in his Goliath form his strength is at 100 tons, and his invulnerability is as tough as Colossus).

Miles: Cameflauge and enhanced senses. Gwen: Stretching and sticking to objects. 

The Bat-Spider girls get to know their new roommates. Mary Jane and MJ found Mercury easy to get along with. Ruth was harder to talk with, but MJ liked her because she was quiet. 

Ruth was surprised that she couldn't read either Mary Jane or MJ's minds. Her precognition powers didn't seem to work on them either. It was something she never experienced before. 

Hope, Sofia, and Megan accepted Gwen in easily. They enjoyed how friendly she was and her intelligence was surprising. Over the weekend all of the students discovered that the new students all went to the same High School and each one was a genius in science and mathematics. 

As some of the mutant girls met Peter, they couldn't help but feel that there was something special about him. They gravitated toward him and flirted. When the three Bat-Spider girls found out, they rushed out and staked their territory. 

Harry was depressed because the girls were already interested in Peter. He wanted to share his woes with Ned, but Ned had made a girlfriend. Her name was Hisako Ichiki (Armor). What was with these two? Ned wasn't quite the lady's man Peter was, but even when he was fat, there was always a quirky girl who couldn't resist him. 

It wasn't that Harry came to the school to date, it's just...come on!

Miles wasn't thinking about girls he was outside watching all the kids using their powers. There was such a variety!

The weirdest power he saw was a boy who could stretch his eyeballs and use them to swing around like a monkey! He introduced himself to everyone. He was well-liked by the other kids.

That evening, the other students were doing a movie night in the main lounge, and the Bat-Spider kids were invited. It was an evening of treats, pizza, soda, and everything Bruce denied them for six months. 

They didn't care what they were watching as long as it wasn't their calorie intake. Peter was dragged to a sofa where Gwen, MJ, and Mary Jane found a way to surround him. Peter sat on the floor while MJ sat to his left, Mary Jane to his right, and Gwen sat beside him. She was giving him a neck massage while the other two were glaring at the other girls. 

Ned sat in the back with his new girlfriend. The pair laughed and flirted quietly the entire evening. That left Harry with Miles. Of course, Miles didn't care about Harry, his new best pal was the kid who called himself "Eye-Slinger!" 

Peter had disappointed MIles so much that he was looking for a new person to idolize and he settled on Eye-Slinger. 

Harry sat depressed and watched the movie. A girl about Harry's age notices him and walks up to him and sits down.

"HeyhowyadoinmynameisNorikoAshidawhyareyousittingbyyoruself," she asks.

Harry managed to keep up with her quick speaking thanks to his accelerated think.

"I'm Harry, I'm just sitting here," he responds. He's happy that someone took notice of him, and it was a cute girl too!

"Heyaren'tyoufriendswithPeterParkerdoyouthinkyoudouleintroducemetohimthoseothergirlsaresoselfishandwon'tletanyoneelsenearhim." 

Harry gives her a blank stare, gets up and moves somewhere else. Noriko doesn't know how she offended Harry. "Some people have thin skins," She rationalizes the interaction with Harry blaming him for the outcome.
