Ayumi

I am Ayumi Madrigal, the sole Survivor of Katana pack. Katana Pack are werewolves who are blessed with abilities sought after by people. Abilities we can harness when we turn 18 years old after our first shift. We share these abilities with our true mate, mate chosen by the Moon Goddess. Once a Katana member dies our abilities are passed on to our family member or our mate. Making them acquire more strength, providing them with a new ability. I have been hunted for 8 years now by Tibolo pack; the people responsible for my packs' demise. Although I am powerful, revenge is not an option. Surviving is my priority. I have discovered recently that my mate is the only Son of Alpha Apollo Saavedra head of Tibolo pack. He is my hunter who turned prey. Will he survive the surge of pain till the full moon? How will his pack accept the fact that now I am paired by the Moon Goddess to its future Alpha.

Truce

It was noon when we started riding back to my pack. Ayumi and I were debating earlier because she thought it was unnecessary for her to go with me. She preferred to go back to her own land. She planned to rehabilitate the area knowing she could do so without worrying about being attacked. Being mated to me was an opportunity for her but her living there alone while I settle things with my own pack was intolerable.

My future Beta, Luca, had informed me that my father Alpha Apollo had been talking to our elders. While Tessa's body and grimoires were given back to her coven. We discovered why the coven of witches were so persistent in defeating our pack. Those grimoires were the reason we had been attacked be the witches.

Tessa took it for herself. It was her coven's treasured item, and it contains dangerous spells that could endanger their own coven. She too had betrayed her family. Both my father and Tessa messed up their family. They have relied too much on extreme measures.

I looked at Ayumi sitting on the passenger side. Her arms were crossed to her chest not bothering to glance at me. She was giving me a silent treatment.

"Love, we really need to meet my pack's council so we could formally settle this feud between you and my pack." I slightly nudged Ayumi's elbow, quickly glanced at me.

"You know I don't really care what your council, it was your pack who made conflict with mine. So why should I bother seeing them." She answered me without bothering to look at me.

"Because you're my mate." I said then held her hand. "You are the future Luna of my pack."

"You know I can't abandon my own pack. Let me remind you I was searching for my pack before we met, I have been looking for surviving Katana wolves. Being your Luna can't hold me from taking the role of Alpha of Katana pack." She argued which made me sigh.

"We will just need this formality, I don't intend to hinder you rebuilding your pack as well as searching for them, I'm going to help you instead, my pack can help you." I pleaded.

"I would rather find them on my own" stubbornly answered. I carefully parked the car on the side of the road and stared at her. I tried finding the words that fit my concerns. She looked at me then she sighed.

"Fine! Let's just finish these Tibolo concerns so I can go back to my pack land." She suddenly declared.

"Am I included in your plan?" I felt pained with her answer. She stared at realizing what she uttered.

"Sorry for sounding rude! You are my mate, of course you are part of it. Alora will surely yearn for you." She sighed then said, "I just don't want to make another mess with your pack, I had enough of the 8 years of rumpus." She sounded apologetic.

"My pack will not fight or attack you again Ayumi!" I said to her. She stared at me then eventually smiled. Ayumi leaned towards me and kissed me.

"We better get going. I'm curious what your father is planning now that I am your mate." I heard Ayumi say. Father has lost everything; I am worried he might do foolish things again and might jeopardize Ayumi again. I started the car engine and maneuvered back to the road. I glanced at her.

"Father will be least of your concern now, love. After this We will plan things for your pack." I told her then held her hand then kissed it.

We reached my Pack house around afternoon. Luca was waiting for us in the pack entrance, smirking. We parked in front of the house, got out of the car while Luca welcomed us with his beaming smile.

"Sorry Devon but your mate is really beautiful. Your one lucky bastard." Luca said, his eyes beaming with happiness. He looked down at Ayumi who was shorter than us. His eyes were sparkling with admiration then.

"I really like to tell you how sorry I am for chasing you all these years, but I can still feel my intestines displaced after your punch. Not expecting for apologize though. How about I call a truce between us?" He said while smiling, Ayumi smiled back.

Ayumi: "Ayumi" she held her hand. And Luca shook it eagerly.

Luca: "Pleasure to meet you Luna, I'm Luca, Devon's best friend."

"Not yet your Luna though, just call me Ayumi." she glanced around. "Where is your pack?" Ayumi roaming her eyes around. She sees no one. All she could see was an empty manicured front yard. Then she glanced at me, her eyes full of concern.

"The council opted to clear the area the moment you arrived, they thought we should not overwhelm you; we caused a lot of harm to you and your pack. They do not want you to feel threatened by us, again.", Luca explained.

Ayumi nodded then smiled at both of us. I held her hand then ushered her to the conference hall where the council was. Luca led us the way. I glanced at her; she looked tense. I squeezed her hand to assure her. I can tell she was nervous. I smiled at her.

"Do not get work up, Love. It will be fine." I said to her through mind link.

She sighed. "I never felt nervous like these not even when I was being chased nor my first shift." She answered me through mind link.

"I wish I was there during your first shift. Things could be different." I answered her. Trying to change the subject.

"You're changing the subject again." She whined. I stopped walking then faced her.

"It will be fine. Do not worry." I assured her again. "I know you are worried about facing the council because of our past action. It is a diplomatic way of solving our crises. Please bear with me, love?" She responded with a nod; her face brightened.

"I agree with you, things could have been different if we found each other earlier but the thing is that how fate works. One thing we can do is deal with the circumstances we are buried in." I smiled at Ayumi then looked at Luca who was waiting by the conference hall entrance.
