Chapter 10 - He must be killed

It was 6:30 on Monday morning. Michael yawned and stretched his arms skyward as he awoke. He went down to the kitchen and grabbed a beer from the refrigerator.

It's been two days since Chris's transition, and he has not returned home. Several times, Michael searched the woods for him, which always proved futile.

Michael sipped his beer the entire way up to his room. He had neglected to go to work ever since the pool party, and he decided today was a better day to return to his life and feign being alright. He set the bottle down on the cabinet beside his headboard and strode to his wardrobe, where he took out a plain coffee-brown T-shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans.

Emily sat at the dinner table with a hand on her jaw. She used her spoon to keep pushing the beef in her food around without having a taste of it. Beastly images of Michael still lingered in her mind, even if it's been two days since the incident.
