Crushing the Sun!

" Okay, let's get down to Business: The punisher got us all the plans on the Negative Zone prison, and the layout of the place can be found in this three-dimensional schematic. Ostensibly, it's for high-risk Super-villains, but as you know, rebel super-heroes are being held there too."

Steve explained as a diagram of the prison was displayed to the resistance.

" Stark, Pym, and Richards are planning puppet heroes in every state and fifty portals leading directly from their local pens into this huge collective super-prison. So far, only two of these doorways have been finished, and we have the codes for the one on Ryker's island."

falcon explained to the group.

" But we need to move fast. Our intel suggests they're planning a huge assault with SHIELD and the THUNDERBOLTS, so tonight is our absolute last chance. Spider-man, we know you're not in the best of shape right now, so nobody's going to judge you if you sit this one out."

Steve explained to the group before speaking directly to Peter.

" Not a chance, Cap. I need to do something to make up for all the bad moves I've made lately. Besides, numbers being what they are, I think you're going to need every extra pair of hands."

Peter replied to the man.

" Actually, numbers might be a little better than we anticipated. Goldbug? Plunderer? You want to come out and tell everyone what we discussed?"

Diamondback said to the group as she invited the two supervillains in.

" What the hell is going on here diamond back?"

Steve asked in anger.

' Oh, boy let me get in between these guys and Frank before he kills them.'

Clark thought to himself as he knew Punisher would kill these two on sight.

" You guys aren't the only ones scared we're heading straight for a police state, Captain. The super-criminal community's more concerned about Stark's plans than anyone."

Goldbug explained to the group.

" We just came by to let you know we're here if you need us. Only fair if Iron Man's got super-villains on his side, right? Whaddaya say?"

Plunderer asked the man

Suddenly Frank Castle walked into the room and opened fire on the two super-villains thankfully, Clark moved in the way to stop the bullets from hitting the men.

" What are you doing? They're bad guys. Thieves and killers."

Frank said to the man as he stopped firing.

" Yes, they are. But we aren't a death squad. And you don't repay my trust by killing."

Clark said as he snatched Punisher's guns from him.

" Listen you two. I appreciate you guys wanting to come help. But the thing is we can't accept it. If we did, then we'd be no better than Stark and his cronies. Sure, they were forced into it and you guys want to help willingly. But we just can't use you here. If you want to make an attempt at being better people, then I'm sure we'd be willing to give you the chance in the future."

Clark explained to the two super-villains.

" Besides, we don't plan on losing tonight. Now, then everyone let's go get our people back!"

Clark yelled to the rebels

The rebels began gathering their gear in preparation for the coming battle. Clark in particular took the time to greet the newest additions to the rebels Black panther and Storm.

" Ororo! It's so good to see you."

Clark said as he greeted the woman with a hug.

" And I am happy to see you as well, Clark. It has been too long."

Storm said to the man as she returned the hug.

" You're still as beautiful as the day we first met."

Clark said with a little bow to the woman

" Oh, stop it you."

Storm said to the man with a little giggle.

" Yes, stop flirting with my wife."

T'challa said to the man sternly.

" Oh, T'Challa knock it off. Clark, is a good friend of the mine."

Storm said to the man berating him for being rude.

" It's okay, Ororo. I should have expected T'Challa to be like that. You and Stark have always assumed i was out to do anything but what was right. And yet now here we are fighting for the same cause. Ironic isn't it?"

Clark asked the man.

" Clark."

Storm called the man.

" No, my love he is right. And for that i am sorry."

T'Challa said to the man.

" So, am I. Now, then come my friends let's go save our people."

Clark said to the two as he walked to join the others.

" Once we get there Sue's going to turn us invisible so we can sneak in undetected. Everyone ready?"

Steve asked the rebels.

" All right let's go!"

Steve yelled as he led the troops to their final destination.

The Rebels quickly made their way to Ryker's Island and launched their attack.

" AAARGH!"

The guards yelled as Cap's secret Avengers attacked them while invisible, knocking them out.

" Thank you, Susan. I think it's safe to make us visible again now that we're through. Panther, what's the situation with prison security?"

Steve said to the woman before speaking to Panther.

" Neutralized from top to bottom, Captain. Though I hate to think how long it would have taken if we hadn't had mister fantastic's blueprints."

Black panther explained to the man.

" Thanks again for coming T'Challa. I know you're taking a big risk for Wakanda. You as well Ororo. I'm glad to have you both. But I would have preferred you to have stayed out of this. The mutants already have enough problems. I'd hate for them to catch anymore heat for this."

Superman said to the two.

" My people have always been on the wrong side of the government. They are strong because of it. This needs to be done, Superman. So, let's get it done."

Storm said to the man making him smile.

" All right, let's move!"

Steve ordered the group as he started walking forward.

However, Spider-Man stepped forward and told the rebels to stop.

" What's wrong?"

Steve asked in confusion.

Spiderman turned to the group wide-eyed.

" My Spider-sense is going off the scale! Seriously, this is defcon one!"

Spiderman yelled to the rebels and seconds later Iron Man and his Avengers including Cassie and Nighthawk former members of the resistance. The healed Ms. Marvel, Doc Samson, Wonder Man, and Hank Pym. His thunderbolts. And the Newly arrived Sentry.

" I'm not surprised. You've just walked into another trap, Captain: Earths mightiest heroes plus earths mightiest villains. We've had a mole on your side for over a week and you're outnumbered ten to one. Would now be a good time to talk about surrender?"

Tony asked sarcastically.

" I don't think so. If you're talking about, Tigra, we knew about her all along, Iron Man."

Steve said to the man in response.

" What?"

Tigra asked in shock.

" You're not the only one with a spy in your team."

Steve said to the man.

" Impossible. The only people who knew about Tigra were myself, Hank and Reed."

Tony explained.

" I'm sorry Tony."

Hank said to the man as he stepped forward and removed his hood, revealing himself to be the spy.

" Hank? What are you doing? You believed in this more than any of us."

Tony asked the man in complete shock.

" Oh, but I'm not Hank. Doctor Pym's been drugged and unconscious since I knocked him out and replaced him in Arizona this morning. I'm Hulkling, the young Avengers resident shape-shifter."

Hulking explained as he revealed his true Identity.

" Oh, dear god. If he could mimic Hank's voice and retinal patterns, then he's had full authority to do whatever we can."

Reed said in a panic

"The cells."

Iron Man stated knowing full well what was coming next.

As if on cue every hero that had been imprisoned by Stark and his Avengers flooded the halls and joined Cap once again to fight against Stark.

" I believe this evens the odds a little..."

Steve said to the man as the two teams faced each other.

" Real quick before we start. Cassie, Nighthawk are you two prepared for what it means to be involved in this fight. I promised you both if you left the resistance actions wouldn't be taken against you. This is your one chance to leave. If you don't, I won't promise you'll still have careers as heroes tomorrow."

Superman said to the two turncoats.

" Heroes take down villains. From America's point of view, you guys are villains."

Nighthawk explained simply.

" And besides we came prepared for you this time. Superman meet Sentry!"

Iron Man said as the man in yellow floated down in front of Superman.

The two men stared at each other as the others looked around at them.

" Sentry? Sorry, I don't know who you are."

Superman said to the man as his eyes burned red.

" I'm the man with the power... Of one million exploding sons!"

Sentry declared as he blasted Superman with his energy.

" AH!"

Superman yelled in pain as Sentry continued burning him.

" AH! IT... It... Tickles!"

Clark smiled up at the man as he dusted off Sentry's energy blasts. He got to his feet and punched Sentry in the face knocking him into the walls of the prison.

" Cloak! Do it now!"

Superman yelled to the man.

Cloak floated up into the air and grabbed every single person in the room pulling them out of the negative zone and into New York city just outside the Baxter Building.

" All the flyers, Grab a friend! NOW!"

Steve yelled to everyone who fly to save those who couldn't

Clark on the way down grabbed Steve, Daredevil, and punisher and placed them on the ground before moving to engage the remaining enemy troops.

" We weren't finished Superman!"

Sentry declared as he tackled Superman into a nearby Building.

' Ugh! This guy's actually pretty strong!'

Clark thought as Sentry punched him in the face.

" Not bad Sentry. But not enough to beat me."

Superman replied as he walked up to Sentry again.

Sentry threw a punch, but Clark dodged it and punched Sentry in his back twice, knocking him back and forth into a wall. He then grabbed Sentry and threw him into the wall across the room. Sentry got up to one knee and blasted Superman in the face with his energy blasts before continuing his attack. He punched Superman in the face multiple times before hitting him in the stomach so hard that his back hit the ceiling. He then punched Clark in the face and knocked him across the office onto his back.

Sentry then turned his back on the downed man.

Clark however was nowhere near out of the fight. He sat up and rushed Sentry. Sentry turned around at the last second to see Clark's fist before it connected to his face.

The blow launched Sentry from the building. Clark rushed the man and continued punching Sentry in the face hard drawing blood from the man.

On the other side of the battlefield.

" IMPERIUS REX!"

Namor yelled as he and his Atlanteans joined the fight.

' Namor? I thought he said no. Why is he here? Fuck it. i won't complain.'

Clark thought as he turned his attention to the man arriving.

" Have at thee, vile traitors!"

The Thor clone yelled as he and the rest of his team, including the original captain marvel joined the battlefield.

Captain Marvel rushed to help Sentry and tackled Superman off of the man.

" Ugh! You of all people joined Stark, Mar-Vell?"

Clark asked the man in disbelief.

" Sorry, Superman. But this isn't about us anymore."

Captain Marvel said to the man as he and Sentry pushed the man away from the battlefield.

" Fine, then. We do this the HARD WAY!"

Clark yelled as he slammed Marvels head into the ground.

Superman, then punched Sentry in his face and knocked him across the battlefield into other members of Stark's troops.

Ms. Marvel looked over in fear as she saw Superman heading back to the battlefield anger written all over his face.

Superman landed on top of Sentry and started pummeling the man ruthlessly.

Sentry once again summoned his energy blasts and blasted Superman off of him. Sentry then got to his feet and flew into Superman tackling him in the air and forcing him away from the battlefield once again, this time the two-crash landed inside of a welding factory. Just as Sentry got to his feet, Clark took a pole and heated it to extreme temperatures with his heat vision and then jabbed it straight through Sentry's back.

" AHHH!!!"

Sentry yelled in agony as the metal burned his insides.

" How'd you like that sun boy?"

Clark asked as he twisted the metal pole into his stomach.

" RAH!"

Sentry growled as he elbowed Clark in the face making him stumble back a few feet. He then grabbed the pole in his stomach and turned around and shoved it into Clark's mouth.

" How do you like it?"

Sentry asked in anger.

Clark looked up at the and smiled while he ate the pole like it was candy.

" I love the taste of uranium."

Clark joked before punching Sentry off of him.

' Damn it, I can't fight here. One wrong move and I could explode this whole building. The chemicals would be harmful to everyone around us.'

Sentry thought as he got to his feet. He turned to fly away from the building but as he did so Clark yelled at him.

" HEY! YOU FORGOT THE OTHER ROD!"

Clark yelled as he threw another Burning hot rod into Sentry's back.

" ARGHHH!"

Sentry howled in pain once again. Blood pouring out of his mouth and nose as he fell to the ground.

Clark took after him with a smile on his face.

" They say a little heat is good for sore back muscles."

Clark joked as he chased the man.

He slammed his fist into Sentry's back and dragged him through a nearby cemetery.

" I told you, you weren't so tough!"

Superman said as he punched Sentry in his face again and again and again. He continued punching the man in his face as the two tore up the forested area. Clark picked up a tree from nearby and carved Sentry a headstone that read "here lies Sentry. Sometimes with great power comes one big zero."

" Read it Sentry."

Clark said to the man as he broke the wooden headstone over the man's head. Though it didn't damage, it did achieve the effect Clark was looking for, as Sentry's eyes turned from those of confidence to despair as he realized the current gap in their power was too great.

Sentry got to his feet again still ready to fight however, but as soon as he tried to punch Clark, Clark ducked and punched Sentry in his face again sending him flying.

Clark rushed to catch the man's body and slammed his head into the ground shattering it beneath his foot.

Sentry, got to his feet once more and tried to engage Clark in a slugfest for the win. But this proved to be a fatal mistake on Sentry's part.

Back in the city.

" I can't believe Steve just surrendered like that. After everything we've been through he just gives."

Falcon said in disbelief.

" Maybe he was right. We were so busy fighting, that we forgot what we were fighting for."

Spiderman said sadly.

" Well, at least we still got Superman, ain't no way he's giving this up."

Luke said defiantly.

" Wait a minute! Where is Superman? And where is Sentry?"

Susan asks in a panic.

Back to the fight.

The inside of the church is a bloody mess, the walls painted red from the blood of the warrior.

' Words stop forming. Sounds stop coming. All I feel is the incessant blows and the bones splintering and cracking beneath my feet. His onslaught is a blur. My life is a blur. Has it all led to this? Is this where I die? Down among the dead. What a fool.'

Sentry thought to himself as Superman beat him bloody. Punching him in the face over and over again cracking and breaking every bone in his face before they can finish healing. Sentry fell to the ground in pain. But Superman did not stop he grabbed Sentry by his head and slammed it into the floor over and over again shattering the concrete and cement below, the ground shook violently each time Sentry's head bashed against the floor.

'Nobody lives forever. How Naive.'

Sentry thought as Clark continued Slamming his head into the ground.

' All I want is another second. Another hour. Another day.'

Sentry thought as Superman ruthlessly rag dolled his near lifeless body, slamming him so hard into the ground headfirst his entire body skids across the cemetery.

' Not like this. Not like... Not...'

Sentry thought as he finally lost consciousness.

Clark grabbed the man by hi collar and lifted him up off the ground into the air as blood dripped from his broken body.

Clark floated up into the air covered in Sentry's blood as he had removed his armor earlier to give Sentry a better fighting chance. He then turned and looked around at the scene before him.

" So... Who's Next?"

Clark asked as he looked around at the heroes before him. He held Sentry's broken body up as a sign of things to come for any who would dare step forward next.

He shifted his burning red eyes to everyone who called themselves his foes.

One by one Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, She-hulk, Reed, Tony, and the rest of his forces backdown in horror as they realized how truly outmatched, they were.
