Chapter thirteen 

One year later

Ying Yong was now seven years old and officially the empire Pearl Jun Zhu. Ying Yong sigh, she should know that plans could not keep up to changes as her mental to do list still have some issues that she has not solved yet. And Ying Zhen had informed her that she needs to at least attend three days of school out of the six-day school week. Although there were strange emotions that appear on Ying Xiong and Ying Zhen's face when Ying Yong announced last year that she will adopt shadow as her son. But still Ying Xiong and Ying Zhen did not say no. Ying Zhen had even give special permission for shadow to attend the academy along with her. And Ying Zhen even threatened to take away all the rewards that he had given her if she ever escape school.

Ying Yong knew that Ying Zhen is trying to help her relax and not be so serious by forcing her to attend school with children of her age. Ying Yong wanted to scream at the thought of attending school with bratty kids when she was mentally an adult. But at least Ying Zhen had allowed her to attend school with the boys so she could learn the ways to be a good official for the empire.

In the past year, Ying Yong had successfully introduced the smallpox vaccine, her crops had succeeded in a bountiful harvest, cloud seeding were successfully introduced in drier parts of the empire, her dogs were successfully trained to be used in the army. Ying Yong had also built up multi schools for the poor and orphanages in few states of the empire. Ying Yong had even developed instant noodles and the modern soap for sale in her father shops. Ying Yong had even broadly broadcast her way to desalinate salt at home and thus successfully lower down the price of salt in the market. Ying Yong was well on her way to be a quite rich girl including the fact that Ying Zhen had given her three states as her land due to her Jun Zhu status. Along with the pearl name, the number of states that was finally given to Ying Yong created a small tsunami in the court as only the eldest daughter of the empress will have.

But Ying Yong was thinking she still could not successfully develop cheaper glass and guns for normal soldiers and soldiers with zhen qi. Ying Yong sigh, she was only one person and there were so many things she intends to do.

Tomorrow is the start of her school life, so Ying Yong left her personal armory that she had built near her first orphanage to try and develop glass and guns with Ying Xiong. Ying Yong had expected danger a long time ago especially what she is doing will eat into the benefits of some key people in the Qin empire. The danger was already one year too late in coming. Ying Yong snarl, it seems like someone really is out to get her life when she finally realized the amount of death dark guards and archers that was sent out.
