One fact was that Rin Nohara and Obito Uchiha should of known of each other before they both entered the academy.
This time however, Rin and Obito didn't know about each other because Obito was someone that decided to spend his time training himself.
Upon seeing Obito Uchiha for the first time, Rin was not to sure what to think of the boy. Sure, he was someone with incredible talent, having awakened the Sharingan at such a young age and being able to hold it for a long time, but she didn't really feel anything else for him.
Not that she wasn't interested in said boy. Just that she had more of an interest in the other talented individual in their class known as Kakashi Hatake.
Another fact to take note of was that the original Obito Uchiha held romantic feelings for Rin, but Rin didn't return them. Instead, she held romantic feelings for Kakashi.
A romantic triangle as it would seem, which would be similar to the way things were set up with Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. Naruto liking Sakura, Sakura lining Sasuke, and Sasuke liking... well, no one.
Even so, right now, nothing is set in stone and the flow of time is different from how it would have been.
Right now, a class was being conducted on the basic theoretical knowledge behind chakra. Rin was smart.
No, she is smart, and using said intelligence she would be able to soak up and all the information provided.
Chakra is something everyone has, and everyone could potentially use it. In fact, one uses it instinctively since the moment they are born.
Every action and every thought somehow contributes to an increase in ones chakra reserves, and while not many people don't have a ridiculous amount at birth, that didn't mean they couldn't train themselves to get more.
Rin right now only understood the very, very basics of this whole ninja business, but by the time her current education is done, she should've been able to learn a whole lot more, and gain a greater understanding of what she can do.
Glancing around, Rin noticed that Kakashi seemed a bit absent, while Obito was... 'Wait, he's sleeping!?' Rin thought of this as incredulous.
'He's sleeping...' She didn't know what to think at this moment, trying to formulate an opinion on the individual known as Obito Uchiha.
Most children she already knows about and has a very rough idea of their traits, especially those that she may have an extra interest in, but most of all was the fact that Obito Uchiha is a complete unknown.
'Well... I know he is an Uchiha, and has the legendary Sharingan, which would require one to be super talented to gain it.' Rin refocused on the lesson, taking note of the fact that the teacher also seemed disinterested in Obito's apparent disrespect.
Nevertheless, Rin thought that she should take it upon herself to talk to the boy. It was obvious that he seemed to not want to be here.
It was either that, or he thought himself too good to be here at the academy. It wasn't like she hadn't meet other children like that, or even adults like that.
Not knowing much about him, and having asked around for some more information about him afterwards, Rin would be surprised to find out that Obito Uchiha is an orphan.
Not only is he an orphan, but he seemed to have no friends at all. For Obito, this was a normal thing for him in his past life, especially at this age, but for Rin, this was not something normal.
Not even other kids their age that are from the Uchiha clan were like that. They at least spent time with others, but he was supposedly isolated from others, and unlike Kakashi, whom while not prone to making friends, at least didn't isolate himself, Obito was different.
'Especially his eyes...' Rin thought as she many a time caught herself staring into his eyes more than once, finding the Sharingan kind of alluring to view.
But most of all was what she saw past those eyes, and as she is a perceptive person she was able to see that Obito was different from the rest of them. It was like there was a goal much more grand than any of them held.
More than becoming a shinobi, more than getting money, more than everything else that children their age may dream about, and she didn't know what to think about this.
Deciding to approach him, Rin would talk to him first to get a better idea of who he is. 'Maybe there is more to him being a lazy student.' Rin thought as Obito continued to sleep the day away.
She didn't realize the reasons behind his actions, but it was a combination of already going through this once, and only ever needing to view something with the Sharingan once to remember everything he needs to know.
Not that he would instantly understand everything he sees, just that he could memorize it easily and mostly not have to worry about tests related to theory.
Even the practical tests he wouldn't have to worry about, especially since he has no large chakra reserves getting in the way of his control, nor does he lack the ability to learn techniques.
Once the session was over, everyone started to pile out of the classroom, while Rin made her way over towards the back as Obito was still asleep there.
Clearing her throat, Rin spoke. "Hello. My names Rin Nohara, but you should know that already."
Obito turned his head towards her, getting his face off of the desk and Rin was once again pulled into his eyes, showing much more depth. Smiling, Obito responded to her with his boyish features. "Hi. I'm Obito Uchiha, but I am sure you know that as well."
"Well... yes." Rin woke herself up, keeping her embarrassment in her momentary lapse of attention hidden. "Anyway, I wanted to inform you that you should probably not sleep during class. That teacher may get upset."
Grinning, Obito replied. "Don't worry about it."
"D-Don't worry about it..." Rin muttered to herself, a bit befuddled by Obito's nonchalance. "I don't think that is quite the right attitude..." Rin didn't want to become that person, but it seemed like Obito may need someone to talk him into reforming.
What made Rin think that person should be her? She had no idea, but she felt that it was only right that she do so. "Is that so? What attitude might I have?" Obito narrowed his eyes at her, while still smiling.
It created a little ominous feel within herself, but she wasn't afraid of this boy in front of her. "Diligence. Perseverance. Hard working, observant, but most of all you should not be lazy." Rin stated, knowing herself just what such things was needed for the shinobi lifestyle.
She wasn't so naive despite her age, doing some research herself beforehand. She didn't become a part of the ninja academy not knowing the danger she would get herself into when she did join.
She wasn't so irresponsible, like what most children this age would be like. She had dreams and desires herself, and those may or may not lay in the current path she wishes to take.
"How do you know whether or not I am diligent or not? Have we not just met?" Obito asked her with that smiling he had now changing into a smirk that seemed to annoy her a bit.
It was like he was inviting her into some sort of challenge. 'Wait! Maybe that's what he wants...' Rin looked into Obito's eyes, trying to see some form of malice, but was unable to identify anything as such.
All she saw was clarity, even in the red eyes of the Sharingan. Shaking her head, Rin decided that maybe this is enough for today, and she shall observe him some more to truly know what he means. "I need to go now. Just remember what I said." She turned around and left.
Turning around one last time, she was surprised to find that said boy had already left. A description of him would be spiky, black hair, his hair was chin-length that parted to frame the sides of his face.
His casual attire consisted of a blue long sleeve shirt and white pants, but here Rin remembered Obito wearing the standard Uchiha outfit. A black shirt with a high-collar left slightly open and the clan's crest on its back, with blue pants and bandages around his shins.
Overall, there may have been someone that would've likened his appearance to a ghost of the Uchiha, Rin likened his appearance to himself.
Looking around the classroom, she was unable to find when he had left, or any trace of him even being there.
'Obito Uchiha...' Her interest only grew from there, and she hadn't even realized her attention was completely taken away from other things.

A fair-skinned girl of slender build was now waiting for an individual she had been meaning to talk to outside of the academy building. She has long black untamed hair reaching her upper back, and very unique eyes that are red in color, with an additional ring in them.
Her regular outfit consists of a red mesh armor blouse with no sleeves. She also had two articles of clothing, a short poncho around her neck but straight and a skirt that had these thorn like patterns that are pink in color.
She also had a simple mesh fishnet on her leggings that only extended to her knees, and wore blue sandals.
This girl was Kurenai Yuhi, and she had joined the ninja academy a year ago. Though talented, she never thought of herself having enough capabilities to contend with much more powerful opponents than herself.
That is until she discovered herself finding an interest in Genjutsu. Illusions, and she not only discovered an interest, but also discovered herself having a very powerful talent in relation to such things.
Even so, she was at the top of her class in most things, but she wasn't quite at a level to graduate. That would be a few years off from now.
Recently, she heard of the new academy entrants, and didn't think much of it at first, until she found someone else similar to herself.
Specifically their eye color, and while she may be one year older than him, that didn't mean she wasn't allowed to approach him and talk with him.
After all, this was made easier by the fact the boy seemed approachable enough, and she was kind of surprised by the lack of people around himself, and while it may be rude, she asked around for information about said boy before she approached him.
Orphan of the Uchiha clan, whom are famous for their own talents in regards to Ninjutsu and Genjutsu.
Naturally she also found out a little bit more about the Uchiha and the Sharingan, leading her to now have even more of a reason to approach the boy known as Obito Uchiha.
Despite having friends herself, Kurenai wanted to know him better for the express purpose of seeing if she could learn some things from him.
He had after all unlocked the famous Dojutsu of the Uchiha, the Sharingan.
She would not have to wait to long for the person she is waiting for, given that she happened to overhear Obito having to stay behind to have a talk with the teacher about his behavior, she saw him come out.
He seemed... nonchalant? Bored even? Shaking her head, Kurenai with a determined gaze headed straight towards him, and while the few that remained at the academy were interested in her approach, they mostly didn't care.
Stopping right in front of him, Kurenai introduced herself. "Obito Uchiha, I'm Kurenai Yuhi. Let's be friends." Now with a closer look, she was finally able to make out the details within his eyes.
Those red eyes were alike her own in color, but he had tomoe, three in total, and there were more differences. While she herself didn't see much in her own eyes, she was able to see there was something hidden within the boy known as Obito Uchiha.
"Eh... Hello?" Obito responded to her with a look on his face that seemed to be remembering something.
"Do you... know me?" She was confused by his expression, but she thought that maybe he knew of her. It wasn't like there were that many individuals that are considered 'famous,' or 'infamous' within the academy.
She would be considered one of them within their age group, along with Asuma Sarutobi, the current Third Hokage's son, and Kakashi Hatake, the son of a prominent shinobi within the village.
"Ah? No, no." Obito shook his head as replied, regathering himself. "I was just... surprised... Yeah! That's all, surprised by your looks." Obito came up with an excuse without realizing his 'mistake,' but this managed to catch Kurenai a bit off guard.
She was not expecting to be confessed to like that. "W-What do you m-mean!?" Kurenai exclaimed, bringing attention to the two of them as she blushed, and as she looked around she decided that maybe they should speak elsewhere.
"Huh?" Obito was confused himself, before his confusion increased as Kurenai grabbed onto his hand and started to drag him away from the academy and everyone else as fast as possible.
Obito was never the smartest when it came to girls, being especially dense even when someone declared they loved him. But one should forgive him for his mistakes, after all he was kind of distracted with a whole lot of other things.
Specifically the Akatsuki, his 'destiny,' the world being destroyed, everyone dying, and a whole lot of other things that didn't give him enough time to become a real romantic.
Having taken him away from everyone else, Kurenai yelled at him. "Can you not do that suddenly!"
"W-What do you mean?" Looking at his face, Kurenai understood that maybe Obito wasn't saying what she thought he was saying.
'W-Was I wrong?' Shaking her head, Kurenai got straight to the point. "Friends?" She extended her hand forward, and Obito took it easily with a smile on his face.
"Sure."
"Now that we are friends, will you help me? I heard the Uchiha know of some Genjutsu..." Kurenai would then leverage her new friendship with Obito to try and learn some illusions from him, or at least train with him when it came to Genjutsu.
Of course, Kurenai would realize that maybe she wanted to be friends with Obito for more than just training. In fact, she had fun with him, which made a special feeling blossom from within herself.
Not realizing this however, Kurenai for now would make an excuse of wanting to train with Obito to meet with him in their own time.
