Chapter 5: Changes in History

"Faster Faster!"

Currently, Lucius was being grilled by the grumpy old trainee as he trained him to death.

Lucius ducks and dodge the NPC's left hook and immediately counter with a right body hook.

Lucius was facing a Training dummy which the old man insisted, just to see his improvement.

Even though his punch was still not as smooth as that of a professional boxer, he was already reaching the adept stage of it.

And with his Inhuman Temporal Perception, Lucius could see every punches his enemy makes at slow speed giving him enough time to dodge and counter-attack.

The dummy, even though was just computer-generated, seems to also feel pain as he put his guard down, and with his expression, Lucius was sure he took damage in that blow.

But because his guard was on his body, his face was completely exposed which Lucius take advantage of.

He quickly changes the direction of his stance and sends out a big left hook which directly hits the dummy's cheek.

"PAKK!"

The sound of Lucius gloves hitting the dummy's cheek could be heard in the entire gym but fortunately, only the three of them are present at the moment.

The punch was so strong that Lucius even thought that the dummy's head would get detached from its body.

Fortunately, it didn't and the dummy was fine and because he is computer-generated, Lucius won't receive a lawsuit which for him was a good thing.

Nonetheless, the fight was over as Lucius knocked out his opponent who dematerialized leaving Lucius standing at the ring alone.

"Clap Clap Clap" The old grumpy man which Lucius called White-haired Old man because his hair had completely turned into white due to old age clapped which surprised Lucius.

"Not bad attaboy." White-haired Old man complimented Lucius which caught the young boy off guard since his perception of this old was a grumpy and impatient person.

"Thank you, sir." Lucius genuinely said even though he knows the person in front of him was just an NPC and was computerized with this behavior.

Lucius notices that the time is already 3:56 which he could see in the very corner of his eyes.

He knew he still has a lot of things to do so he unwillingly logged out of the VR world.

Lucius took off the helmet with a satisfied smile on his face, he really enjoyed his first experience and would one hundred percent play again.

Don't get Lucius wrong, he isn't the kind of person who liked boxing, he just enjoyed his adrenaline pumping when fighting and the feeling of improving, he enjoyed it to the point where he would become addicted to it.

Of course, that would still be later on but anyway, Lucius stand up and stretch his stiff body which had been sitting for 4 hours or more.

'Sigh, why I haven't thought of laying down' Lucius regretfully thought as he couldn't even feel his butt anymore.

He look at his friend and saw that he was still playing so he didn't bother him and decided to took a bath first.

As he was bathing, Lucius' mind was working at its full capacity as he search in his memory for every information that would be useful.

From hidden and high-rank missions and missions with great rewards, useful tips, and some talented individuals he could invite in his guild, or at least befriend them.

Lucius isn't some arrogant young master who thinks he is above anyone, he is also a friendly person but due to his awkward communication skills, he only has a few friends.

He also knows how important subordinates are so he won't blindly think he is invincible just because he is much stronger than his enemy.

But for now, Lucius first decided to get ready and prepared so that when Mendala was officially opened, he would just need to make a few adjustments.

He searches for general knowledge, not about Mendala but the world itself.

Basic information was a must or else Lucius would be an idiot in the eyes of the people.

He first searches about the history and it was almost identical to Earth but in the year 1915, the history deviated.

The year 1915, has been a year since World War 1 started and people were in poor condition, many people died whether it was soldiers or innocent people.

Because of that, the president of the United State, along with 8 more presidential leaders who have the same beliefs. namely France, Russia, Japan, South Africa, China, Italy, Australia, and the Philippines formed an alliance whose goal was to unify and convince other more countries to also join.

Their plan works as slowly, more and more countries joined partially because of the pressure of facing the 9 powerful countries.

And finally, the year 1970 comes and all of the countries have become a part of the Alliance, prosperity comes and with the lead of the Trinidad family, the royal family of the Philippines, technology evolve at tremendous speed reaching what it was today.

Lucius' squinted his eyes after he finished reading.

Who was the Trinidad family?

Trinidad family doesn't exist in Lucius world but here, the Trinidad family is one of the influential families in the world, they were also the ones who owned the YG Corp. the company that invented the VR world.

Due to curiosity, Lucius decided to study the Philippines' history and see how many changes happens.

In the year 1565, nothing changed as Spain conquered the Philippines but compared to Lucius' past world, the colonization only lasted for 178 years compared to the 333 years.

In the year 1736, an organization named KKK which was supposed to appear 156 years later, fought and start a revolution against the Spanish empire.

In the leadership of Manual Trinidad, the founder of the KKK and the one who started the revolution, Filipinos slowly drive Spanish people out of the country with the help of advanced firearms their leader created.

Finally, after 7 years of bloody war, the Filipinos successfully got their independence and became an independent nation.

Manuel Trinidad also became the very first sovereign of the Philippines and fortune and wealth entered the country.

Finally, after 50 years of hard work, Manuel perish and his third son which was the most competent of them all replace him.

In the very same year, the Philippines was also dubbed as the "Land of Gold".

And as years passed, the country's strength just continue growing until it became one of the strongest countries in Asia along with India, China, Japan, and many more.

'Sure enough!'

Lucius shouted in his mind as his guess was right.

The Trinidad family is the main reason for the deviation of the original history.

After fulfilling his curiosity, Lucius stood up in the bathtub and wash the soap in his body using the shower.

He then took a white towel to dry his whole body with it.

After being done wiping, Lucius use the towel as a cover for his private parts and went outside the Bathroom.

He noticed that Fatty was gone he check his phone and sure enough, he leave a message.

(A/N: from now on I'll be calling their holograms phones so that it was much easier to understand.)

[Dude, I'm sorry something important happened so can't say properly said goodbye to you, don't worry I understand, single men took much longer times bathing, don't worry I've been through that.

Oh, and about the helmet, you could have it.]

Lucius' face turned black after reading the first half of Fatty's message.

But he didn't take it seriously as he had known him for a long time now and know that he was just teasing him.

Lucius couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief after reading the second half of the message.

He was not rich like Fatty, after all, a VR helmet was expensive if his knowledge is correct.

Lucius smiled helplessly at his friend's attics as he swipe his hand and the hologram disappeared.

It was still 5:23, the day was still long but even so, Lucius didn't dare to relax.

As the saying goes, Time is gold.

Lucius still has a lot of plans that he needed to prepare for.

Lazing around was not in his vocabulary.

He then gets dressed and lays down in his bed as he decided to make the first step of his plan.

He then put the VR helmet in his head as he close his eyes and said;

" Link Start!"

(A/N: I took the idea of Ophir " the land of Gold" in the Bible and the Philippines became just like that.

Take note this is not some nationalism so don't be discouraged, I just thought I needed to mention this since the story would take place in the Philippines and many powerful companies would be based in the country.)
