CHAPTER 8 "THE DEMON" (2)

'Wait, why do nuns call him a demon?'

'I did see that name on the deck, so he must have been who was absent.' she thought

"Hey, I'm not going to call you demon."

"Why not? It's the name the nuns gave me."

My dear Maria was still confused about why the nuns hated him. She wanted to give him a new name, but if the nuns found out, she would be punished for disobeying Fiona.

"Demon is actually a term for a man-eating monster."

"What is that?"

'He is too innocent. I shouldn't say anything. If someone overhears us, it could be a problem.'

"Never mind! I'll just call you that for now."

They both sat in a corner of the ground with their backs against the wall that was around the tower.

No one was allowed there, but it was the only place where no one could hear them. She came to here because after losing Senin, she didn't want to lose someone else important to her again because of a stupid mistake.

"What if someone finds us here?" he asked.

"Relax, the children are in the garden, and the teachers and nuns are in a meeting, so we're safe for now."

There was silence between them until he spoke.

"Thanks for saving me from those girls."

"Can I ask why those girls are bullying you?"

"I don't know the real reason, but they say they're bored, so they do these things to me for fun."

....

"If they ever try to hurt you again, tell me."

"So let's meet tomorrow at this place," he said.

"No, tomorrow is my birthday, and I want to spend the day sleeping on my bed."

Maria started walking away. "Where are you going?"

"To my bed, and I think you should, too."

25,12, 1985

The next morning, when Maria walked into class, she saw Demon, sitting on his seat.

She was happy to know that he wasn't teased by those girls today.

"Maybe they're still afraid of me. I always hated that rumor, but now I love it."

Her smile vanished when she saw her deck, which was occupied by Rafael's.

She walked up to him. "Why are you doing this? Is it because I ignored you or because you want to fight?"

As Maria said something else, the teacher entered.

"Maria, what is this behavior? Sit down."

Maria turned to the teacher.

"Okay, I'll sit, but tell me where to sit because this was my only seat."

The teacher looked around and realized that the seat next to Demon was empty, but at that behind Maria can't see anything.

For my Maria:

"MY HEART ALWAYS BEATS FOR YOU,

SO LET IT STOP FOR YOU AS WELL"
