Chapter-6

Ever since he woke up, he saw something floating in front of him. He had ignored it thinking that it was just his brain playing pranks on him after waking up but it was not.

[Description: The area surrounding your new home has become overgrown and cluttered. It's time to restore it to its former glory.]

[Objectives:

1. Remove the overgrown grass and weeds from the yard.

2. Clear any debris and fallen branches.

3. Sweep the pathways and clean the garden furniture. Dispose of the waste]

Li Wei blinked a few times, trying to process what he was seeing. As an online reader and had read about these before, he knew about these. To escape reality and think about fantasy, he had thought about it countless times. After he had just thought of changing his life, an opportunity arrived in front of him but before that he needed to see the capabilities and question this system if he could.

[The host can ask questions and can also communicate mentally]

'Ok, what are you going to do'

Li Wei thought for a moment before asking.

'What would you do if I don't follow the quest that has been given'

He thought of the quest before and knew that it was indeed aligned with his goals.

"Well, I guess I should get started," he muttered to himself.

He stepped outside through the back door of the house and surveyed the yard. The grass was tall, nearly up to his knees in some places. Weeds had taken over the flower beds, and fallen branches were scattered everywhere. The bushes were wild and unkempt, and the pathways were almost invisible under the dirt and leaves. The garden furniture was covered in a layer of grime.

With a sigh, Li Wei rolled up his sleeves and set to work. He started by pulling the weeds which were stubborn and deeply rooted. After making a pile of weeds, he moved on to the grass. Using an old scythe he found in the shed, he began to cut it down to a manageable length. Even though the scythe was rusty, it still worked. There were also other rusty tools in the shed which he managed to uncover after cleaning the shed.

The work was tough, and he had to take several breaks to catch his breath. The other reason being that his stamina was not great as he had never really exercised during the years. Next, he tackled the bushes, trimming them back to a neat shape. As he worked, he found a sense of satisfaction in seeing the yard slowly transform. The pathways were swept clean, revealing the stone underneath. He gathered the fallen branches and debris into a large pile.

Finally, he cleaned the garden furniture, scrubbing away the dirt and grime until it looked almost new. He stepped back to admire his work, feeling a sense of accomplishment. Even though he had still had to work for it similar to his years before, it felt better and he felt a sense of achievement for this success.

It was still morning even after he had done all the work since he had slept early and gotten up early.

'Inventory function!' Was it the same as what he thought of. He just questioned and thought about it but the system answered him.

Then an interface appeared with grids 'System, how much can I store in the inventory'

[The inventory currently has 10 slots, each capable of holding a stack of 100 items]

[The host can control what to take out or take with mental command]

[The storage can be upgraded if the host encounters treasures related to it]

'What is this marrow cleansing pill'

[This is a pill which can enhance the strength of the host]1

[The host can use the Appraisal skill to see the description of the pill]

He took out the pill from the inventory and used the skill.

'So, I just swallow the pill?'

The system replied.

[The host needs to be careful since the body of the host is very weak and the pill will expel the impurities from the body which would result in the host being uncomfortable and hot]

[To reduce the bad effects, the host can exercise after eating the pill to reduce the effects to open up the pores and make way for the impurities and toxins to be released]

Listening to the information which was given, Li Wei took the pill and swallowed it. Soon after he started to feel the effects of the pill, his entire body felt hot as if he was on a stove. his body felt like it was a bottle which was stopped with the cap. It was so bad that he started jumping around which relieved a bit of the feeling but most of it was still there.

'So hot'

He ran out of the house quickly and jog down the pathway leading away from his house and the yard.
