Like Father, Like Daughter

The episode starts with Jessie and her friends walking through the forest, still trying to get to Fuchsia City as they continue walking.

"Jimmy, I'm about to question your skills with the map again," Meowth says with an annoying expression.

"I swear this path will definitely lead us to Fuchsia City, please believe me!" James defended himself.

"Meowth, maybe you should try to be patient?" Domino suggested. "You know all the cities are not close to each other."

Meowth rolls his eyes. "I obviously know that, Sherlock."

"Okay Meowth, that's enough!" Jessie glared at her Pokémon. "We will be at Fuchsia City today, I promise!"

Meanwhile, as the gang is walking and talking, the scene shows a woman with purple eyes and purplish hair, the latter being tied by a yellow band. She wears a scarf, a belt, and white socks. The purplish-haired woman is seen watching the gang on top of a tree, spying on the gang from the top. The gang has yet to notice her and proceeds to jump from tree to tree whenever the gang gets far enough from her by walking.

"Would you rather start your Pokémon journey with Metapod or Magikarp?" James asked.

"Definitely Magikarp!" Domino answered. "As a water trainer, that's just the right option and I hate bug Pokémon too. The easiest choice I'll ever make in my life."

James nods. "Makes sense. How about you, Jessie?"

"Well as a Pokémon trainer who has previously owned both of those Pokémon, I will say-"

Jessie was about to answer the question, but she got cut off by the purplish-haired girl landing in front of them from the sky by jumping off from the tree she was in.

The purplish-haired girl immediately pulls out a Poké Ball and points it towards the gang. "I challenge one of you to a Pokémon battle! At least one of you better accept my challenge!"

Jessie and the gang both immediately stop dead in their tracks.

The title screen shows.

"Like Father, Like Daughter."

"So… who's going to accept my challenge?" The purplish-haired asked while holding up a Poké Ball towards them.

"Whoa, okay lady, you just appeared right in front of us and we got spooked!" Domino says.

"I accept your challenge!" Jessie immediately steps in front and pulls out a Poké Ball. "The name's Jessie."

The purplish-haired girl introduces herself. "Janine! Okay, enough talk and let's battle."

"I guess I'll be the referee then," James says, making himself a referee.

Meowth grins. "This battle should be good!"

"Just a simple one-on-one battle, agree?" Janine asked.

"Agreed!" Jessie answers back.

It cuts to Janine and Jessie both standing far away from each other to form a battlefield. The Pokémon battle begins with Janine throwing her Poké Ball first.

"Weezing, I choose you!" Janine sends out the Pokémon she will use in battle.

"Weezing!" The Pokémon cries out in battle.

"Aww! I wanted a Weezing!" James pouted.

"Whoa!" Jessie immediately pulls out her Pokédex and aims it at Janine's Pokémon.

"Weezing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. Evolved form of Koffing. Poison type. Where two kinds of poison gases meet, two Koffings can fuse into a Weezing over many years."

"Very interesting." Jessie puts her Pokédex away.

"Are we battling or what?" Janine asked, becoming a little impatient. "Send out your Pokémon!"

"I am! I am!" Jessie responded. "Geez, why can't people just be patient these days?" She quietly asked herself. "Squirtle, let's go!" Jessie sends out Squirtle into battle.

"Squirtle!" The Pokémon cried out.

"Weezing, use Smokescreen!" Janine commanded.

"Weezing!" Weezing releases thick gray smoke from the holes in its body or its mouth. Surrounding the entire battlefield.

Squirtle starts coughing from the Smokescreen released by Weezing.

"Water Gun, Squirtle!" Jessie commanded.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle releases a spiral of water from its mouth towards the direction where Weezing was.

The smoke clears up from Squirtle's Water Gun, but Weezing isn't at the same spot from earlier and the move ends up missing the Pokémon.

"Squirtle?" Squirtle scratches its head in confusion.

Weezing floats right behind Squirtle.

"Squirtle, behind you!" Jessie quickly warned.

Janine grins. "Toxic!"

"Weezing!" Weezing quickly releases a black substance right at Squirtle.

"Squirtle!" The Pokémon cries in pain from getting hit by Toxic. Purple bubbles immediately appear, signaling Squirtle was now poisoned.

"Crap, Squirtle is poisoned!" Jessie grits her teeth.

Janine crosses her arms in confidence with a smirk. "You might as well give up now."

"Skull Bash, let's go!" Jessie commanded.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle runs and jumps at Weezing with its head down strikes it with its head and lands a direct hit.

"Weezing!" Weezing cries in pain from the Skull Bash.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle also takes pain from the poison.

Jessie growls. "That poison!"

"Come on Weezing, use Smog!"

Weezing opens its mouth on its larger body and releases a stream of thick black smoke from it at Squirtle.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle cries and takes even more pain, also coughing as well.

"Hydro Pump, Squirtle!"

"Squirtle!" Squirtle blasts powerful water right at Weezing from its mouth, but Weezing floats out of the way, dodging the Hydro Pump. Squirtle takes damage from the poison.

"Crap!" Jessie said.

Janine smiles. "Nice work Weezing! Use Smog once more!"

"Withdraw, quick!"

"Weezing!" Weezing once more opens its mouth on its larger body and releases a stream of thick black smoke right at Squirtle.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle quickly Squirtle pulls all of its limbs into its shell. The Smog hits the Pokémon's shell, but Squirtle takes just minor damage this time but takes more damage from the poison.

"Smokescreen let's go, Weezing!" Janine commanded.

"Weezing!" Weezing once more releases thick gray smoke from the holes in its body or its mouth. Surrounding the entire battlefield.

Squirtle pops out of its shell and looks around in confusion. "Squirtle?"

"Squirtle, use your Hydro Pump rapidly!" Jessie commanded.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle starts blasting water all over the battlefield, clearing up the smog that Weezing created. One of the water being blasted ends up hitting Weezing.

"Weezing!" The Pokémon drops down to the ground, signaling fainting.

"Weezing, no!" Janine called out.

James declares the battle. "Weezing is unable to battle. Which means the victor of the battle goes to Jessie and Squirtle!"

"Yes, we did it, Squirtle!" Jessie immediately starts running towards her Pokémon.

"Another win for Jessie in the books!" Domino smiles.

"I have to say, she's improving," Meowth added with a nod.

Janine looks down and sighs from losing the battle. "Weezing, you did great. Return." She recalls her Pokémon back in her Poké Ball.

"Squirtle!" The Pokémon cried out in joy. It was about to celebrate victory, but the poison prevented Squirtle from doing so. "Squirtle…" the Pokémon groans in pain.

"Oh crap yeah, you're still poisoned!" Jessie picks up her Squirtle, holding it. She turns to James. "James, do you have an Antidote?"

James sets his backpack down, unzips it, and starts looking for Antidote. Unfortunately, he can't find one. "Sorry Jessie…" James frowns.

Jessie turns to Domino. "Domino?"

Domino looks in her bag for Antidote, but she can't find one as well. "I don't have one too, I'm so sorry Jessie!"

"Come on, we gotta get to the nearest Pokémon Center, fast!" Jessie was about to sprint off, but Janine stopped her.

"Wait.. here you go." Janine hands Jessie some Antidote for her Squirtle.

"Oh, thank you so much!" Jessie happily accepts the Antidote. "Okay Squirtle, this might sting a little." She sprays the Antidote on Squirtle to cure its poison.

"Squirtle!" The Pokémon cries slightly in pain from the Antidote, but Squirtle feels much better. "Squirtle!" Squirtle cried out in joy.

"There you go! Now take a nice long rest!" Jessie smiles and recalls Squirtle back in its Poké Ball. She then turns to Janine. "Thank you so much for the Antidote!"

"Yeah, no problem…" Janine replies with a sad tone and also has a sad expression on her face as well.

"Hey, are you okay?" Jessie asked her.

"Is something up?" Domino added.

"You can tell us anything if you want." James also added as well.

"It's nothing, I just wish I would've won that battle, that's all," Janine answered back with a frown.

Domino tries to cheer Janine up. "Hey, you might meet Jessie again for a rematch and who knows, you could win the next time."

Jessie looks at Domino with an annoyed expression. "Way to be a team player."

Domino looks back at Jessie with an annoyed expression as well. "I'm just trying to cheer her up." She says in a whispered volume.

"Thanks… but I have a reason why I wanted to win." Janine turns towards the gang. "It's because of my dad."

"What about your dad?" James asked.

"Don't tell me you're a person with daddy issues," Meowth says with an annoyed expression.

"NO!" Janine immediately replied. "It's not like that at all-" She cuts her own sentence off after realizing that Jessie's Meowth talked. "Did that Meowth just talk?"

Jessie shoots a glare at Meowth "Duct tape." She whispered to her Pokémon.

Meowth gulps and stays silent.

"This is my third loss in a row and my dad is getting promoted to the Elite Four soon-"

"'Elite Four?' What's that?" Jessie asked, interrupting Janine.

"The Elite Four are the four toughest trainers in the region," Domino answered.

"If you want to become a Pokémon Master, beating an Elite Four member or two should be part of your steps to becoming one," James added.

Jessie smiles in delight. "Wow! I want to beat an Elite Four member one day!"

"May I continue, please?" Janine asked in a polite tone.

"Oh." Jessie nods. "Sorry."

Janine continued. "Thank you… As I was saying, my dad is being promoted to the Elite Four soon, which means I'm going to have to be the Gym Leader very soon and with my third loss, I-I don't know if I can do this."

"Wait… 'Gym Leader,' you're going to be a Gym Leader soon?" Domino asked.

Janine nods. "Yeah?"

James continues with the questions. "Which city?"

"Fuchsia City, it's a lovely city, I like it," Janine answered.

Jessie then realized. "Wait so which means your father is-"

"KOGA?!" Jessie finished her sentence, but her friends also screamed out as well.

"Oh, silly me! I should've said that earlier." Janine begins to introduce herself again but with more information. "Yes. I'm Janine, I'm the daughter of the current Gym Leader of Fuchsia City and soon-to-be Elite Four member, Koga! I will also be a future Gym Leader as well."

The gang all start introducing themselves to Janine as well.

"I'm Jessie, a pleasure to meet you!"

"I'm Domino, it's nice to meet someone who has a father as a Gym Leader!"

James bows. "And I'm James!"

"Wait, so since you're the daughter of Koga and I defeated you in a battle, can I have a badge?!" Jessie asked immediately with a smile as she held out her hand for a possible Gym Badge.

Domino, James, and Meowth all looked annoyed at Jessie's attempt.

James whispers to Domino and Meowth. "I thought she didn't want to win any pity badges?"

Domino shrugs. "I guess she will take one to not battle with a future Elite Four member."

"I would too, being honest," Meowth admitted.

Janine giggles from Jessie expecting a Gym Badge. "You're funny. Unfortunately, I'm not the Gym Leader at this time. I will be Gym Leader after this year's Indigo League finishes because that's when my dad will be promoted. So sorry, nice try though!"

Jessie sighs in disappointment but soon gets over it. "Can you at least take us to Fuchsia City? Me and my friends are trying to get there, but we're kinda lost."

Janine smiles. "Oh sure, I'll gladly do it! Just follow me."

James gulps and starts shaking in fear. "I was so close to leading them in the wrong direction to avoid that city." He says quietly to himself.

Meowth looks at James and raises an eyebrow. "What was that, Jimmy?"

"N-NOTHING!" James immediately replied with an embarrassing chuckle.

Meowth hops on Jessie's shoulder. Janine starts leading the gang to Fuchsia City. It cuts to Team Rocket spying on the gang from afar as usual.

"Did you hear that?" Cassidy asked her partners-in-crime. "That girl is the daughter of Koga! Who's going to be an Elite Four member soon."

"Which means, his Pokémon must be very strong and perfect for stealing!" Butch grins evilly.

"Just imagine us with Elite Four level Pokémon against the twerps! That talking Meowth is as good as ours!" Mondo cheerfully says.

"Alright, then our next plan is settled. We invade Fuchsia Gym and steal Koga's Pokémon!" Cassidy raises her fist in the air.

"FUCK YEAH!" Butch raises his fist in the air with Cassidy.

"Let's do this!" Mondo joins in as well.

Team Rocket all head out to put their plan into action. It cuts to Janine and the gang arriving in Fuchsia City.

"Here we are, Fuchsia City!" Janine confirmed.

"Wow!" Jessie says in delight. "We finally made it!"

"Yeah, woohoo…" James weakly cheers, not being excited at all.

"James, is something wrong?" Domino asked.

"OH! Nothing wrong at all, but thanks for asking!" James chuckles a little awkwardly.

"Let me show you guys around the city!" Janine offered the gang with a smile on her face.

"Sure, we will love that!" Domino responded.

Meowth groans. "Can we just go to the Gym already?"

"Wow, for a talking Meowth, you sure are moody," Janine says.

"Oh, Meowth is always moody. Don't mind him." Jessie replied.

Meowth crosses his arms. "Hmph!"

Jessie shrugs. "Well, it's true!"

Janine chuckles once more. "Okay, let's begin the tour!"

Janine and the gang all walk past the Pokémon Center and then the Poké Mart.

"I'm assuming you guys already know about the Pokémon Center and Poké Mart?" Janine asked.

Jessie and her friends immediately nod. Janine and the gang start heading toward a building with a gate that has a sign that says 'Safari Zone' on the top.

Jessie gets a closer look to read the sign. "'Safari Zone?' What's that?"

Janine starts answering Jessie's question. "The Safari Zone is a special Pokémon preserve where Trainers all around the world can participate in the Safari Game!"

"NO WAY!" Jessie yelled out in disbelief. "I'm going to join now!" She was about to sprint off towards the Safari Zone.

Meowth immediately scratches his trainer right in the face, stopping her.

"OW!" Jessie holds her face in pain. "MEOWTH, WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!"

"We're going to win a Gym Badge before entering some stupid game, got it?" Meowth demanded.

"Are they always this goofy?" Janine whispered to Domino and James.

Domino and James both chuckled.

"Unfortunately, yes," Domino answered.

Janine continues the tour with the gang as they stop by and see a bunch of Pokémon surrounded by fences and in captivity. The gang starts looking around at the place.

"What is this place?" James asked.

"This is the Pokémon Zoo!" Janine answered. "It's a very famous Pokémon attraction with very rare Pokémon. Trainers sometimes see Pokémon they haven't seen in the wild before."

"Whoa!" Jessie looks around the Pokémon and spots a large Pokémon that vaguely resembles a kangaroo with a baby in its pouch. "AWWWW!" She immediately runs towards the exhibit.

"Kanga!" The Pokémon cried out.

"What Pokémon are you?" Jessie pulls out her Pokédex.

"Kangaskhan, the Parent Pokémon. Normal-type. The infant rarely ventures out of its mother's protective pouch until it is 3 years old. Kangaskhan can only be female."

"That's very interesting!" Jessie looks at the infant in its mother's pouch and waves hello with a smile. "Hi there, little girl!"

The infinite immediately turns away and hugs her mother.

"Kanga!" The Kangaskhan starts petting her infant.

"Aww, she's shy." Jessie chuckles.

Meanwhile, Janine, Domino, James, and Meowth look on at the Pokémon Zoo and the rest of the exhibits.

Domino starts naming them. "Wow, there's a Chansey, Voltorb, Slowpoke, and a-" Domino sees a Pokémon has a blue hide with darker blue spots and a cream-colored underside. She immediately gasps in delight. "LAPRAS!" Domino sprints towards the exhibit.

"Laaa!" The Pokémon cried out.

James turns to Janine. "She's a big fan of water Pokémon."

"Ahh, I see," Janine says with a smile.

"I always wanted Lapras on my Pokémon team! It's one of my dream Pokémon!" Domino waves and greets Lapras with a smile. "Hi, Lapras!"

Lapras smiles back at Domino. "Laaa!"

"Well, Jessie and Domino are busy, we two shall continue the tour," Janine says.

James and Meowth both nod. While on the tour, Meowth whispers into James' ear.

"So Jimmy, is there something you want to tell me about?" Meowth whispered.

"What do you mean?" James responded.

"I mean, I could've sworn I heard you say that you were leading us in the wrong direction to avoid this city back there." Meowth glares at him.

James' eyes widened. "I have no idea what you're talking about…" He stops whispering to talk with Janine. "So Janine, that was a nice Weezing you had back there."

Janine smiles and nods. "Thank you so much! I had Weezing back when it was a Koffing. It was my very first Pokémon."

James gasped. "No way! Koffing was my very first Pokémon as well!"

Meowth groans and rolls his eyes. "Give me a break."

"That's wonderful! May I see your Koffing?" Janine asked.

"Of course! Koffing, come on out!" James pulls out Koffing's Poké Ball and sends it out.

"Koffing!" The Pokémon cried out.

"Wow! That's so cool!" Janine starts looking at James' Koffing from all angles.

Meowth starts tapping his foot, becoming impatient. "James, you better answer my question!"

"What's Meowth talking about?" Janine asked.

"Nothing at all! You keep talking with Koffing and I'll see what's going on." James pushes Meowth to a location where it's just them. "What do you want?!"

"You know what I want! I want you to answer my question. Why did you try to lead us on the wrong path from Fuchsia?" Meowth asked.

James groans. "Fine, I don't like Fuchsia City, okay? There, I answered your dumb question!"

"But that's still no reason for trying to lead us down the wrong path!" Meowth responded. "I gave you my trust on the map again, so why don't you like Fuchsia City?"

"Some questions are better left unanswered Meowth…" James turns around and walks away leaving Meowth confused.

It cuts to the gang and Janine finishing their tour of Fuschia City.

"Well that's all of Fuschia City has to offer!" Janine confirmed. "I hoped you liked it!"

"I love Fuschia City!" Jessie responded with a smile. "I also just can't wait to enter that Safari Zone real soon!"

"Janine!" An unknown voice was heard from the gang. It was a man with black spiky hair and wearing a dark ninja outfit, along with a red scarf. He walks towards Janine and the gang. "Why are you not currently training right now?"

"I'm so sorry, dad! I was just showing these people around Fuchsia City." Janine points at Jessie and Co.

"So you must be Koga, the Fuchsia City Gym Leader!" Jessie pointed out.

Koga bows. "That is indeed correct, miss."

"Eep!" James immediately hides behind Domino from Koga.

"James what are you-"

"Shh!" James interrupts Domino by shushing her.

Jessie raises her fist in the air. "I challenge you to a Gym Battle!"

"Very well, if you wish to do battle with me, we shall battle at the Fuchsia Gym. I will expect your arrival once you're ready." Koga turns to her daughter. "Come, Janine, and let's get back to your training."

Janine nods. "Yes, Dad."

Both Koga and Janine walk off to the Fuchsia Gym.

Jessie starts thinking. "Janine said Koga is being promoted to the Elite Four soon, which means he must be a very strong Gym Leader."

"This ain't going to be easy," Meowth says.

"Well, with your battle with Janine earlier, she used a Weezing, a poison-type, which means we can safely assume her dad, Koga, uses Poison-type Pokémon as well," Domino explained.

James nods. "Which means, a ground Pokémon will be your best choice against him."

Jessie snaps her fingers, hinting at an idea. "I caught an awesome Shiny Diglett earlier! Which will do great against Koga!… but what Pokémon shall I switch with?"

"I would suggest switching out Nidorina with Diglett since another poison type like Nidorina won't do well against Koga," James explained.

Jessie nods. "Right! Let's head to the Pokémon Center to make the switch."

It cuts to the gang leaving the Pokémon Center after Jessie switched her Nidorina with her Shiny Diglett.

Jessie is seen holding Shiny Diglett's Poké Ball in her hand with a smile. "Now I'm ready for Koga!"

James takes a big sigh. "Why won't you guys go to the Fuchsia Gym? I'll just look at the Pokémon Zoo alone."

"WHAT?!" Jessie, Domino, and Meowth said in disbelief.

"A-are you actually gonna skip out on another one of my Gym Battles?" Jessie looks at James with a sad expression on her face.

"I-I'm sorry Jessie, but because of personal reasons I have to!" James sprints off towards the Pokémon Zoo.

Jessie takes a big sigh. "Come on, let's just go."

As Jessie heads to the Fuchsia Gym, Domino and Meowth look on with sad expressions and then soon follow Jessie. It cuts to Jessie, Domino, and Meowth arriving and entering Fuchsia Gym. It then cuts Team Rocket behind the Gym building.

"Alright, is the plan ready?" Cassidy asked.

Mondo looks at the three vacuums for the trio that they ordered and grins. "Yep! These vacuums are so powerful that they can suck up any Poké Balls right from the trainer's pockets!"

"Fuck yeah! Let's strap them on!" Butch says.

All three of Team Rocket grab a powerful vacuum and strap it onto their backs. They all started

laughing evilly. It cuts to Jessie, Domino, and Meowth arriving inside Fuchsia Gym. They all look around to see Koga on his Gym Leader platform with Janine next to him, staring at the trio. It seems like a clear path to Koga from Jessie's perspective.

"Alright let's just walk towards Koga then." Jessie starts walking straight forward but then all of a sudden runs into something. "OW!" She falls to the ground.

"What the?" Domino walks over and touches the solid object that Jessie ran into. "This is… an invisible wall?"

"Huh?" Meowth walks over to touch the invisible wall as well. "Wow, it is!"

Jessie gets up and touches the invisible wall as well. "Is this some kind of prank?"

Domino shakes her head no. "I don't think so, it's more like an obstacle."

Jessie starts feeling around the invisible wall as she heads right and notices a path as she doesn't feel anything. "This way!"

The trio head to the path, Jessie keeps going straight until she bumps into another invisible wall.

"Ow…" Jessie says.

A montage shows Jessie keeps bumping into invisible wall after wall, until she, Domino, and Meowth finally make it out of the obstacle.

Jessie slowly crawls towards the battlefield in exhaustion. "I made it…"

Domino and Meowth both arrive behind her with Domino facepalming.

Koga bows. "Ahh, at last, it was about time to make it, challenger."

"Why did you even put an almost impossible obstacle like that in the Gym?!" Jessie immediately asked as she stood up.

Koga explains. "To test our challengers, of course, to master the art of seeing invisible walls like a true ninja and using the obstacle for challengers to be prepared… and I see you need a little training. challenger."

"I'm not trying to become a ninja, I'm trying to become a Pokémon Master and I'll do just that by beating you!" Jessie declared.

Koga closes his eyes. "Very well." Then opens them back up. "This shall be a five-on-five Gym Battle, with no substitutions for the Gym Leader and challenger. Do you agree with these rules?"

Jessie's eyes widened. "Five-on-five battle, whoa…" then she nods. "I accept!"

Jessie and Koga both pull out a Poké Ball, ready to battle until they hear a door closing from the back, and familiar laughter to Jessie, Domino, and Meowth is heard.

Cassidy reveals herself to Koga, Janine, Jessie, Domino, and Meowth while holding a vacuum. "Prepare for trouble!"

Butch walks in to reveal himself to the party as well, also vacuum in hand too. "Make it double!"

"To infect the world with devastation!"

"To blight all people in every nation!"

"To denounce the goodness of truth and love!"

"To extend our wrath to the stars above!"

"Cassidy!"

"And Butch, of course!"

"We're Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night!"

"Surrender to us now or you will surely lose the fight!"

Mondo lands in front of the two with a vacuum in hand as well. "I'm Mondo alright!"

"Team Rocket!" Jessie, Domino, and Meowth shouted.

"Team Rocket?" Janine questioned.

"They sound like foes, Janine. Stand behind me." Koga gets in front of her daughter for protection.

"Alright, turn on the powerful vacuums!" Cassidy commanded.

Team Rocket turn on their vacuums to try to suck up Koga's Pokémon currently in their Poké Balls, but nothing happens because the invisible walls from Koga's Gym obstacle are preventing the vacuums from doing so. But the Team Rocket trio is oblivious to this because they can't see it.

"Uhh… what the fuck is happening?" Butch questioned.

"Nothing is working, aw come on!" Mondo complained.

"Stupid vacuum, suck up Koga's Pokémon!" Cassidy demanded.

"Your invisible walls are preventing their plan?" Jessie whispered to Koga.

Koga secretly nods in response to Jessie.

Meowth quietly chuckles. "Nice."

Team Rocket still has their vacuums on, but nothing is happening because of the invisible walls they're still oblivious to.

"Don't tell me we got fucking ripped off!" Butch growls in anger.

"Way to go Cassidy!" Mondo says, glaring at her.

"Retreat!" Cassidy yelled out.

Team Rocket immediately turns their vacuums off and sprints off to exit the Gym.

"Come on, we can't let them escape!" Jessie says.

Domino nods in agreement. "Right!"

"I know the path that will lead us to the back door and outside. Follow me." Koga commanded.

It cuts to outside with the Team Rocket trio sprinting and the gang with Koga and Janine following them right behind.

"Come back here, Team Rocket!" Jessie yelled out.

"Halt, thieves!" Janine added.

Team Rocket stops, turns around to face: the gang, Koga, and Janine, and the criminal trio all pull out a Poké Ball. "Raticate, Primeape, and Marowak go!" They all send out their Pokémon to battle.

"Raticate!" "Primeape!" "Marowak!" Team Rocket's Pokémon cried out in battle.

Jessie, Domino, and Janine all three pull out a Poké Ball as well.

"Electabuzz, let's go! "Bulbasaur, I choose you!" "Muk, get them!" The three all sent out their Pokémon against Team Rocket's.

"ELEBUBUBU!" "Bulbasaur!" "Muk!" Their Pokémon also cried out in battle.

"Get them!" Team Rocket commanded.

Raticate, Primeape, and Marowak all start attacking the gang and Janine's Pokémon. Bulbasaur chucks leaves at Primeape, but it dodges and punches Bulbasaur to the ground. Electabuzz was trying to electrocute Raticate, but Raticate was able to dodge it and take Electabuzz down with a bite. Muk tries to grab Marowak, but Marowak keeps dodging and soon whacks the Pokémon with its bone as Muk falls.

"Oh no!" Jessie, Domino, and Janine shouted, all recalling their Pokémon back.

Cassidy laughs. "Twerps, time to taste defeat!"

"I'll deal with them!" Koga said, pulling out a Poké Ball. "Golbat, I need your assistance!" He sends Golbat into battle.

"Golbat!" The Pokémon cries out.

"It's three against one, you don't stand a chance!" Mondo says.

Butch grins. "I suggest giving your Pokémon up to Team Rocket, Mr. future Elite Four member!"

"Never!" Koga shouted, denying.

"Your funeral!" Cassidy says.

"Raticate, attack!" "Get them, Primeape!" "Marowak, go!" Team Rocket commanded their Pokémon.

Golbat flies up high in the air, where Primeape, Raticate, and Marowak can't reach. Marowak tries to hit the Pokémon by throwing its bone, but Golbat easily dodges it.

Cassidy growls. "No fair, your Pokémon can fly!"

"Lower your Pokémon down so we can hit you!" Butch demanded.

"Golbat, use Swift!" Koga commanded.

"Golbat!" Golbat starts firing blue shooting stars right at Team Rocket's Pokémon.

Swift automatically hits Team Rocket's Pokémon as they get flung back and hit their trainers.

Domino immediately pulls out another Poké Ball. "Clefairy, Metronome!" She tosses her Pokémon into battle.

Clefairy immediately starts waving its fingers as it repeats its name. "Clefairy! Clefairy! Clefairy!" Clefairy blasts electricity at Team Rocket and their Pokémon, signaling the move is Thunder.

Team Rocket and their Pokémon all scream out in pain as the vacuums that they were wearing, explodes from the electricity, sending Team Rocket and their Pokémon blasting off.

Cassidy starts moving her limbs in a frustrated way. "I'm gonna demand a refund from whoever gave us those stupid vacuums!"

"Maybe we should teach our Pokémon to fly!" Mondo suggested with a smile.

"Sure, that will take… never o'clock," Butch responded.

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Ding!

Everyone looks up in the sky with a satisfied smile from Team Rocket blasting off.

"Bye-bye!" Meowth said, waving at the sky.

"You did great, Dad!" Janine said, hugging her father.

Koga looks at her daughter. "Janine, you're gonna become a Gym Leader soon and I need you to spectate when I battle, like this one, so you can learn and carry on in my footsteps."

Janine immediately nods. "I will, Dad!"

"You did great, Clefairy!" Domino recalls her Clefairy back in its Poké Ball.

"You too, Golbat." Koga also recalls his Pokémon back in its Poké Ball.

"Now that we dealt with Team Rocket, let's get back to the Gym for our battle!" Jessie said, looking excited.

Koga nods in agreement. "As you wish."

It cuts to everyone back in the Fuchsia Gym. Koga and Jessie are standing on opposite ends of the battlefield. Domino, Meowth, and Janine are on the sides, watching closely as spectators, especially Janine.

"Like I said earlier. Five-on-five Pokémon battle, no substitutions. Do you still agree with the rules?" Koga asked.

Jessie nods. "I agree."

"Very well." Koga pulls out a Poké Ball.

"Let's do this!" Jessie also pulls out a Poké Ball as well.

"Here we go! This should be an interesting battle!" Meowth said, already being interested in this Gym Battle.

"I hope Jessie knows what she's doing. With being promoted to Elite Four soon, Koga will be a difficult challenge for Jessie to overcome." Domino says.

"I know my dad isn't going down that easy," Janine added.

"Will Jessie someone pull out the underdog victory with Koga and win the Soul Badge? Well, I can tell you that this battle has the potential to be great! And what's up with James? Find out soon as the journey continues!"
