Fast Times at Porta Visa

"Our heroes have finally reached a city from the skies after being lost on an island. An exciting place to party and relax at the beach."

"We're finally not lost anymore!" James says in excitement.

"What is this place called anyway?" Jessie asked.

"Maybe we can ask someone nearby?" Domino suggested.

Meowth nods. "That option makes the most sense."

The gang looks around for someone nearby and spots a random orange-haired stranger, who's wearing swim trunks with Pokémon on them.

"Excuse me sir, but do you know what city this is?" Jessie asked the orange-haired stranger.

The orange-haired stranger notices something. "Aren't you the four that randomly fell from the sky?"

"It's a long story…" Domino says.

"Just tell us where we are," James demanded.

"Well my friends, you're at the great Porta Visa! This place is known for having one of the greatest beaches in Kanto! I have to catch a wave, later dudes!" The orange-haired stranger grabs his surfboard and heads to the ocean.

Jessie looks confused. "'Porta Visa?'"

The title screen shows.

"Fast Times at Porta Vista!"

"I haven't heard of that place one bit at all despite what he said," Jessie admitted.

James starts to think. "I think I heard about it. It contains two cities, Acapulco and Hutber Port. Most Pokémon trainers come here for a break."

"Aw yeah, a break! Let's take one, Jess!" Meowth notices that Jessie is walking away. "Where are you going?!"

"I'm taking no break! I'm heading to Celadon City for my next badge." Jessie says and continues walking.

"Wait up here!" Domino yelled out.

Domino, James, and Meowth catch up to Jessie.

"Come on Jessie, let's take one day off, please," James begged. "Being lost has really made me exhausted."

"You don't even know what direction leads to Celadon City from here!" Domino added.

"Well that's easy, James has a-" Jessie then remembered that James led them in the wrong direction to Vermilion City with the map. "I'll just find a Pokémon Center and ask Nurse Joy." Jessie then leaves to find one.

"Well… at least people definitely won't think we're dead anymore since we can be contacted now," James says.

Domino nods in agreement. "That's a relief."

"Well I don't have any parents anyway, so I didn't care," Meowth says.

"Now what? Are we going to go back on our Pokémon journey or are we taking a day off?" James questioned.

"I had a long day. I'd rather take a break before going back on the journey." Domino responded.

"We're gonna stick together. No separations, no anything!" Meowth declared.

James nods. "I agree, Meowth. I agree."

However, James spots a girl with silver hair, brown eyes, a red shirt, and black bottoms. He immediately runs off, leaving Meowth and Domino.

"OH FUCK YOU!" Meowth yelled.

"Well, that aged like wine," Domino says, sarcastically.

"He really ditched us like that, huh?" Meowth shakes his head in disapproval.

"I wonder why?" Domino questioned.

"I don't know, but I don't care what the reason is! We can just have fun on our own then!" Meowth suggested.

"What type of fun?" Domino asked.

Meowth shrugs. "I don't know. We're in some kind of tourist place, maybe we can eat and do karaoke here?"

Jessie arrives back with a frown on her face. "I'm not walking that far for a Pokémon Center by myself, no thanks." She looks around and notices James isn't present. "Where's James?"

Meowth crosses his arms. "He left us."

"What?!" Jessie said in disbelief. "Why?!"

"I think he saw someone in the distance and went after them?" Domino suggested.

"Now that Jimmy is gone, can we take that break now, Jess?" Meowth asked.

"But I want to get to Celadon City right now!" Jessie pouted.

Domino growls. "We can get to Celadon City later! My legs are tired and I need rest after almost dying from getting on the S.S. Anne!"

"Okay, okay, we can take a break for one day," Jessie says, nervously.

Domino's anger goes to happiness. "Besides Jessie, you can use this break to train your Pokémon."

Jessie perks up. "Hey, you're right Domino!"

"Let's go somewhere fun. Where James is missing out!" Meowth suggested.

Meowth makes his way to a tiki bar nearby as Jessie and Domino follow the Pokémon behind. It cuts to where James went. He's hiding behind a palm tree as we see the silver-haired girl from earlier, resting on a bench from jogging.

"If Jessie can't get so nervous, then I can't get nervous too!" James says to himself. He stopped hiding behind the palm tree and approached the silver-haired girl.

She turns her head to James and blinks.

James gives her a small wave and chuckles a little bit. "Remember me? Sunnytown? The name's James, but we used to ride bikes together and we hacked into someone's bank once."

The silver-haired girl thinks for a little bit and remembers. "Oh, yeah I remember you. Long time no see. Did you hear about the S.S. Anne sank yesterday?"

James nods. "Very much so, I actually was on that ship."

The silver-haired girl gasps in shock. "How are you not dead?!"

"Dead? Ha! No shipwreck can kill me!" James flexes his muscles in confidence.

The silver-haired girl rolls her eyes. "A shipwreck can't, but hacking into a gym leader's bank account almost did."

"You and I needed the money, Oakley!" James reveals the silver-haired girl's name. "Can we spend some time together, for old time's sake?"

"Since I'm here, yeah we can," Oakley responded.

"Sweet! Just look at how lovely the beach is!" James says.

James and Oakley both look at the beach and it's crowded with a bunch of people on the shore.

James takes back what he said before. "Never mind…"

Oakley gives a small chuckle in response. "Hey, maybe we can pickpocket. It's a small crime, but hey, someone can have big money in their pockets."

James awkwardly stares. "I'm not much of a delinquent anymore though…"

"Are you a sad or bad boy then, James?" Oakley smirked.

"Fine, just this once!" James says.

Oakley and James both go around the beach to try to pickpocket someone. They end up spotting a salesman.

"Fresh Goldeen sushi rolls for sale! I'll throw in a Pokémon for a charge of 300 dollars with every combo meal!" The salesman is seen holding up a Magikarp.

James starts whispering to Oakley. "This guy looks like a great target."

Oakley nods in response. "Come on, let's strike."

As the salesman is too busy trying to get people to buy some Goldeen sushi rolls, both James and Oakley sneakily pickpocket the salesman. Oakley takes some money and James takes some jewelry.

"Ooh, is that a jewel? Hand it over!" Oakley demanded.

James immediately shushes Oakley. "SHHH-"

However, the salesman already noticed the two and stared at them. "Are you going to buy a Goldeen sushi roll, with an added Pokémon for 300 dollars?"

"Nobody wants your Magikarp, geezer!" Oakley takes what James found and then starts running away.

"Hey, don't leave me empty-handed!" James starts running away as well.

"OH NO, YOU WON'T! YOU TAKE FROM ME, YOU'LL PAY FOR IT!" The salesman starts chasing the two.

James pulls out some marbles and throws them on the ground behind him, trying to make the salesman trip, but he easily jumps over them before pulling out a chef's cleaver.

"EEP!" James looks in front of him while still running away and sees that Oakley is way ahead of them because she is a fast runner. "OAKLEY, DON'T MAKE HIM GET ME!"

"YOU TAKE FROM ME, YOU'LL PAY FOR IT! FINAL SALE!" The salesman yelled.

Oakley gets an idea, she stops and holds up the 'jewel' that she took from James. "Hey, salesman? Want this back?" She throws it into the ocean.

The salesman immediately starts heading into the ocean to go after it. "MY PRECIOUS!"

James falls onto the sand from exhaustion from running. "You really threw what I just took into the ocean?"

Oakley shakes her head. "No. I just grabbed the shiniest thing in the sand and threw it into the ocean. People like him aren't smart enough to fall for old tricks."

James gets up and chuckles. "You're really smart, I love that in somebody."

Oakley had nothing to respond to and dodged the comment. "Thanks for the jewel."

However, James notices something inside the jewel. "I thought jewels didn't have mosquitoes in them?"

"What?" Oakley realizes, aside, from the money, they took some old amber from the salesman.

James rubs his head in embarrassment. "Oops…"

"At least we took something, James. Maybe, this can make me rich and powerful!" Oakley says with a grin.

"Oh no, you want unlimited power, how scary." James sarcastically says. "Now let's get going and have some actual fun. Maybe swimming and dancing together, anything that's not going to get us in trouble before-"

Right on cue, the two spot Officer Jenny heading towards them as they're now worried.

"Dip?" James asked.

"We dip." Oakley takes James' hand and sprints off with him.

It cuts to the tiki bar, where Jessie, Domino, and Meowth are at.

"Did you really have to order me alcohol?" Jessie asked with a frown.

"Well duh, that's what you do in bars, you drink and have fun!" Meowth takes a sip of his beer.

"Yeah, the cat is right. What's the matter, Jessie?" Domino asked.

"I promised my mother that I will never drink alcohol. Also, I'm 16, which means I am u-n-d-e-r-a-g-e-d, underaged!" Jessie says, aggressively.

Meowth rolls his eyes. "Oh please, don't let some mother and number tell you what to do!"

"I wonder what James is doing?" Jessie asked, trying to move on from the conversation.

Meowth shrugs. "Beats me, but I don't care and you both shouldn't as well because he abandoned us!"

"I guess so," Jessie says.

"We can talk about other stuff that ain't about him," Meowth says.

Domino takes a sip of her beer. "You all are lucky I was 20 to get you guys in here in the first place."

"YOU'RE 20?!" Meowth says in shock.

"Well yeah? Underage people can't be in this tiki bar unless accompanied by an adult." Domino looks at Jessie.

"Geez, you look like a baby face," Meowth says.

"I think it's a compliment. Aging is scared to go near me." Domino takes another sip of her beer.

Meowth rolls his eyes. "Go ahead, be funny."

Domino just gives Meowth the side-eye in response.

Meowth finishes his beer. "Now what?"

Domino looks over at Jessie and sees she hasn't even taken a sip of her beer. "Jessie, it's fine. As basically your guardian, I am allowing you to drink."

"Domino, but I promised my mother-"

"Still a mama's girl are you huh, Jessie?" A familiar voice, that Jessie can recognize, cuts her off, and starts laughing.

Jessie looks over and immediately recognizes her rival Leaf with a beer in her hand. "LEAF?!"

Leaf smirks and takes a sip of her beer. "The one and only!"

Domino raises an eyebrow. "So this is the Leaf person you keep talking about, Jessie?"

Leaf starts teasing Jessie. "Aww, Jessie can't stop talking about me, huh?" She starts laughing.

This causes Jessie to blush in embarrassment. "Why did you tell her that?!"

"Oops, sorry…" Domino chuckles awkwardly.

"Wait, how did you even get in here without a guardian?! Aren't you the same age as Jess?" Meowth asked.

Leaf tosses her beer over the top of her head and catches it with her other hand without any spill onto the floor as she takes another sip. "It's so great to be the granddaughter of the famous Professor Oak, isn't it? They just let you in any place!"

"Oh yeah?! Well, I got three badges, see?" Jessie pulls out her badge case and shows Leaf her three badges.

Leaf only just laughs. "Three badges? I already have four badges!"

Jessie hits the table with her hand in frustration. "Four?!"

Leaf also pulls out her badge case and shows Jessie her four badges. "I'm already halfway there to compete in the Pokémon League! You're still falling behind, just like the very start of our journeys!"

Jessie starts growling in anger and then she immediately leaves the tiki bar in frustration with Domino and Meowth following her.

Leaf just laughs. "I love teasing that girl."

It cuts to the outside of the tiki bar with Jessie stomping out. Domino and Meowth are seen catching up with her.

"Jessie, wait up! Where are you going?!" Domino asked.

"Yeah, I didn't even get a chance to sing karaoke there!" Meowth complained.

"I'm heading to Celadon City, so I can catch up with Leaf!" Jessie answered, still stomping away in frustration.

"We can't leave the town, Porta Visa, without James!" Domino yelled out.

"I mean if he left us earlier, why can't we do the same?" Jessie asked, crossing her arms.

"She has a point," Meowth admitted.

Domino groans. "Two wrongs don't make a right, besides, he ain't leaving the whole town. Come on, stop talking like that!" She then looks at Meowth. "That goes for both of you!"

Meowth rolls his eyes in response. "Okay, Ms. Bossy pants, geez!"

"Fine, let's just-" Jessie hears her ringtone in her purse, interrupting her sentence in the process. She takes out her phone from her purse. "It's a FaceTime call from my mom, I got to take this." She accepts the call.

Miyamoto appears on Jessie's phone. "Hey sweetie, I'm just checking on you! I haven't heard from you in two days! Is everything okay?"

Jessie looks at Domino and Meowth in worriedness, as they shrug in response. She turns back to her phone and sweats a little. "Yeah, I… was just really busy from those two days. I'm really sorry, Mom."

Miyamoto raises an eyebrow. "You took a few seconds there to answer. You better not be lying to me, young lady!"

Jessie shrieks. "I'm not Mom, I promise!"

Miyamoto stares at her daughter with a raised eyebrow for a few seconds before smiling. "Okay, sweetie! Good luck on your journey, I love you!"

Jessie secretly smiles, hiding her true feelings of being worried. "I love you too Mom, bye!"

Miyamoto ends the call with her daughter. Jessie drops her knees down in the sand in disbelief.

"I-I can't believe I just lied to my mother." Jessie has a look of regret in her eyes. "I have never done that to my mom ever since I was born…"

"This is great, now you can drink and lie to her again when she asks!" Meowth says.

Domino glares at Meowth. "Can you shut the fuck up?"

Meowth widens his eyes as Domino pats Jessie's back.

Domino tries to cheer Jessie up. "Jessie, you only lied to her because you didn't want her to be worried about you. It's okay, as long as you don't mention it, she won't find out about almost dying in a sunken ship."

Jessie slowly gets up. "I guess you are right… Come on, let's go find James, wherever he is." She starts on the search for James with Domino and Meowth following right behind her.

It cuts to the Team Rocket trio. Butch and Cassidy are snatching some Poké Balls. Butch is snatching them from underneath untainted umbrellas as Cassidy is snatching them from trainers' pockets stealthy without them noticing. Meanwhile, Mondo is just laying down on the sand and relaxing.

Cassidy notices Mondo relaxing instead of stealing. "Mondo, get to work!"

"Yeah, lazy ass! Get up!" Butch added.

Mondo shakes his head. "I already did my work!"

Butch raises an eyebrow in suspicion. "Really?! Then explain what you did."

"Threw volleyballs at people's heads, buried people in the sand, knocked over their sandcastles, and kicked sand in their eyes." Mondo proceeds to kick sand in Butch's eyes.

Butch screams in pain. "I CAN'T SEE!"

Cassidy crosses her arms. "How is all that stuff involved with stealing Pokémon?"

"Of course! It was all a distraction!" Mondo holds a Poké Ball in the air that he stole.

Butch continues yelling in pain from the sand in his eyes.

"Walk it off, Butch! Stop being a baby!" Cassidy demanded.

Butch rubs the sand off of his eyes with his hands. "Fine! Mondo, open up the Poké Ball. Let's see what's inside."

Mondo sends out the Poké Ball that he stole.

"I better be seeing a strong one here," Butch demanded.

Cassidy seems excited. "I hope it's a Dragonite!"

However, it's a very muscular Pokémon that is purplish-gray. It's wearing a black and gold power-save belt resembling a championship belt. The Pokémon is seen glaring at the trio.

"Machoke!" It cried out.

Cassidy stares at the Machoke's six-pack. "Nice six-pack! What's your diet?"

"Mondo, I must admit, nice catch," Butch says.

Cassidy nods in agreement. "Indeed."

Mondo grins. However, he stops grinning as the Team Rocket trio notices a surfer dude with brown hair, blue eyes, and wearing a necklace, going through the crowd, looking for something.

"Hey dudes, has anyone seen my bro, Machoke?" The surfer dude asked the crowd of people.

Butch widens his eyes. "Oh fuck, we gotta run!"

"Put it back in the Poké Ball, Mondo!" Cassidy demanded.

Mondo recalls the stolen Machoke in its Poké Ball. "We still have to go and find some other place for our schemes."

Butch notices a little girl's sandcastle and grins. "Wait, one second." He goes over to the little kid's sandcastle and kicks it, ruining it.

This causes the little girl to cry her eyes out. The Team Rocket trio all point and laugh at the little girl crying.

"Alright, let's go now, quick!" Butch demanded.

Cassidy and Mondo immediately nod in response as the Team Rocket trio immediately flees the scene. It cuts to where James and Oakley are with James surfing in the ocean and Oakley watching him.

"It's literally nighttime and you have those shades on?" Oakley asked.

James nods in response. "Mhm. My style!"

Oakley groans. "You're such an idiot."

"Yes, but a rather gorgeous idiot." James grins.

That left Oakley speechless and stood there in silence.

"Yeah, I know that was bad, sorry." James chuckles in embarrassment.

"Yeah, you should be." Oakley also chuckles.

"Anyways, why are you here, exactly?" James curiously asked.

Oakley crosses her arms. "I could ask you the same thing, James."

"Well I'm here after escaping the most harrowing moment of my life… with my friends!" James then remembers he ditched them and gulped.

Oakley answers James' question earlier. "You know me. I'm here on a detour and taking anything."

James stops surfing and walks back to the sand. "I'm not surprised the cops haven't gotten you yet."

"Oh please, no cop can arrest and catch me. I saw you with two other losers and a Meowth when I was jogging. Do they know that you were in a biker gang before?" Oakley asked.

"Oh, you meant Domino and Jessie." James blushes in embarrassment. "No, they don't know and I would rather keep it that way. I don't want them to know that I used to commit crimes."

Oblivious of James and Oakley, the Team Rocket trio is sneaking around behind them and trying to be extra quiet.

"We haven't seen each other for a few years and I see you still got it going on," James smirks.

Oakley sides-eyes him in response. "Now what's that supposed to mean?"

James just chuckles as Oakley just facepalms in response.

"It was really fun doing stuff with you like old times, but I should find my friends and get going." James frowns. "I missed you…"

Oakley doesn't say anything for a few seconds and frowns as well. "I guess I missed you too."

"Mm, you either missed me or you didn't," James says.

Oakley groans and rolls her eyes. "Fine. I missed you."

Butch steps on really loud sand that crunches, then Mondo bumps into Butch and then Cassidy falls hard.

"Ouch!" Cassidy yelled out, but then immediately covered her mouth.

James and Oakley turn around to see the Team Rocket trio.

"We're just uhh… citizens just passing through, don't mind us!" Cassidy says.

"TEAM ROCKET!" James yelled.

James yelling soon gets everyone's attention on the beach as the crowd spots the Team Rocket trio.

"Those guys must have stolen our Pokémon! Let's get 'em!" A random stranger yells out.

"MACHOKE BUDDY! I'M COMING!" The surfer screamed out.

Butch grins. "Listen up crybabies, all of your Pokémon are now owned by Team Rocket!"

"To infect the world with devastation!"

"To blight all people in every nation!"

"To denounce the goodness of truth and love!"

"To extend our wrath to the stars above!"

"Cassidy!"

"And Butch, of course!"

"We're Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night!"

"Surrender to us now or you will surely lose the fight!"

"I'm Mondo alright!"

Soon the gang arrives after hearing the commotion.

"TEAM ROCKET! Give back everyone's Pokémon, now!" Jessie demanded.

"Not a chance, twerp! Mankey go!" Butch sends out Mankey to battle.

"Go Rattata!" Cassidy sends Rattata to battle.

"Let's go, Cubone!" Mondo soon follows after by sending Cubone into battle.

Soon the gang pulls out a Poké Ball, getting ready to battle with Team Rocket.

"Go Pikachu!"

"Bulbasaur, I choose you!"

"Nidoran, I need you!"

James sends out Pikachu, Domino sends out Bulbasaur and Jessie sends out Nidoran to battle with Team Rocket.

"Nidoran, Double Kick on Mankey!"

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt on Rattata!"

"Bulbasaur, Sleep Power on Cubone!"

Nidoran kicks Mankey twice, which is super effective against the Pokémon as it takes major damage. Pikachu lands the Thunderbolt on Rattata and Bulbasaur puts Cubone to sleep by scattering a big cloud of sleep-inducing dust around it.

"GO GET THEM MANKEY!" Butch commanded.

Mankey starts getting angrier with every second and starts going crazy by attacking every Pokémon in battle, including its very own team.

"EEP!" James shrieked.

Mankey completely faints every Pokémon on the battlefield, including Rattata and Cubone. Mankey calms down and takes heavy breaths, but then faints from exhaustion, leaving Butch lost for words.

"BUTCH, LOOK WHAT YOU MANKEY DID!" Mondo yelled in frustration.

"YOU ABSOLUTE DUMBASS!" Cassidy added.

"Team Rocket doesn't have any Pokémon left, get them!" The surfer commanded.

The surfer and the rest of the crowd start beating up Team Rocket while getting their Pokémon back with the trio screaming in pain. The crowd all

"Electabuzz, blast them off with Thunderbolt!" Jessie sends out Electabuzz.

"ELEBUBUBUBUBU" Electabuzz cried out.

The crowd immediately back away from Team Rocket as Electabuzz releases powerful bolts of yellow lightning from its horns right at Team Rocket. The trio screamed in pain from getting electrocuted as they blasted them off.

"Another failure, dammit!" Butch yelled out in frustration.

Mondo shrugs. "We might as well get used to it by this point."

"We would've gotten away with it if Butch didn't screw up by making noise!" Cassidy argued.

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Ding!

The crowd all cheer for the gang as they lift James, Jessie, and Domino in the air and cheer them like crazy as the gang all smile at each other. It cuts to the next day with the sun up in the sky as we see James introducing Oakley to Jessie, Meowth, and Domino.

"It's very nice to meet you, Oakley!" Domino says with a smile.

"Of course." Oakley then turns her attention to James. "I had fun yesterday with you."

"I had fun too. Do you want to make this official and go on a date with me?" James asked with a smirk.

Jessie and Domino gasped in shock, but Meowth rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"I'm all in for it." Oakley smiles in response.

James and Oakley both hug as Jessie and Domino both clap for them, Meowth still looks annoyed. They finally break the hug.

Jessie approaches Oakley. "Hey Oakley, how good of a trainer are you?"

"I like to consider myself one of the best trainers." Oakley smirks.

"Oh yeah?" Jessie pulls out one of her Poké Balls from her purse. "Battle me then, one-on-one!"

"You'll stand no chance against me if you try!" Oakley also pulls out a Poké Ball.

"Ekans, I choose you!" Jessie sends out Ekans to battle.

"Ekans!"

"Gloom, I choose you!" Oakley then sends out Gloom to battle. It was a Pokémon with a flower with spherical petals on its head.

"Gloom!"

"Gloom?" Jessie pulls out her Pokédex from her purse.

"Gloom, the weed Pokémon. Gloom is a grass and poison type. The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn't drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey."

"Poison type versus poison type? This should be an interesting battle." Domino says.

James nods. "Gloom is also part grass-type though, so I would watch out if I was Jessie."

Meowth grins. "This should be interesting to watch!"

"Ekans, use Bite!"

"Ekans!" Ekans dashes at Gloom and bites down on the Pokémon using its mouth as it takes damage.

"Absorb, Gloom!"

"Gloom!" Gloom releases a red beam from the flower on its head at the Ekans and hits it. Ekans' body glows red and Gloom absorbs its energy.

"And just like that, Gloom's back to full health." Oakley grins.

Jessie growls a little. "Use Screech!"

Ekans opens its mouth. "EKANS!" The Pokémon shrieks loudly, causing red shockwaves to come out of its mouth, as Oakley and Gloom both cover their ears. The move lowers Gloom's defense by two stages.

"Gloom, use Sleep Powder!"

"Dodge it quick, Ekans!"

Gloom releases an indigo powder from the flower on its head, but Ekans manages to avoid it by slithering out of the way.

"Now use Wrap!" Jessie immediately commanded.

Ekans starts wrapping its body around Gloom and then squeezing it, as Gloom takes major damage.

Oakley starts sweating. "Acid, quick!"

Gloom opens its mouth and fires a ball of violet acid from its mouth at Ekans. The Pokémon takes major damage and the move blinds Ekans from getting it in its eyes.

"Ekans, Ekans, Ekans!" The Pokémon starts looking around, panicking.

"AH, EKANS! Jessie shrieks.

Oakley clutches her fist. "Absorb!"

Gloom gets ready to release a red beam from the flower on its head as Jessie starts sweating.

"This could be really bad if Jessie doesn't think of something quick," Domino says.

James nods in response. "Indeed."

Jessie gets an idea. "Ekans, dig yourself under the sand, quick!"

Ekans immediately digs itself under the sand as the red beam shoots out of Gloom, but misses the Pokémon.

"WHAT?!" Oakley said in shock.

"Gloom?" Gloom starts looking around for Ekans in confusion.

Jessie clutches her fist. "Use Dig!"

Ekans all of a sudden pop out under the sand and charge at Gloom as the Pokémon gets flung back and takes major damage. Gloom is face-first on the sand, showing signs that it might have fainted.

"Gloom, are you okay?! Oakley says, worried.

Gloom slowly gets back up, still able to battle. "Gloom!"

"That's the spirit, Gloom! Use Sleep Powder!"

"Try to dodge it again, Ekans!"

Gloom releases more indigo powder from the flower on its head. Ekans tries to avoid it again by slithering out of the way, but the move got to the Pokémon and Ekans falls asleep.

"NO, EKANS!" Jessie shouted in disbelief.

"Gloom, use Absorb!"

"Gloom!" Gloom releases a red beam once more from the flower on its head and Jessie can't do anything because Ekans is fast asleep. The red beam hits the Pokémon and Ekans' body glows red as Gloom absorbs its energy.

"Time for the ultimate move to end this battle!" Oakley smirks. "Solar Beam!"

"Gloom, Gloom!" Gloom starts to draw sunlight into the pistil of the flower on its head. In front of the flower appears a golden ball of light, getting ready to attack Ekans.

Jessie starts sweating in fear. "Ekans, wake up!"

Ekans slowly starts opening its eyes as it wakes up. "Ekans!"

"Good, now dig under the sand once more!" Jessie commanded.

Ekans immediately digs itself under the sand to try to avoid the Solar Beam.

"Gloom?" The Pokémon cries in confusion.

Jessie smirks. "It's over!"

Oakley gets an idea. "Yeah, for you! Gloom, aim the Solar Beam in the hole that Ekans just dug up!"

"HUH?!" Jessie shouted in disbelief.

"Gloom!" Gloom quickly makes its way to the hole that Ekans just dug up. The Pokémon fires a beam of energy in the hole as the beam travels throughout the hole.

The beam of energy creates another hole by striking Ekans under the sand, which brings the Pokémon back to the surface. "EKANS!" The Pokémon cried in pain. When Ekans hits the ground, the Pokémon faints.

Jessie falls onto her knees in disbelief. "NO, EKANS!"

"I WIN!" Oakley cheered for her victory against Jessie.

Domino calls the match. "Ekans is unable to battle. The winner of this battle is Oakley!"

Jessie sighs. "Ekans return." She recalls Ekans back to its Poké Ball and looks at the Poké Ball with a smile. "You did great Ekans, you deserve a nice rest."

"Hey, I've got to hand it to you, you almost took me down," Oakley recalls Gloom back to its Poké Ball.

Jessie chuckles. "Yeah, you're right, but the next time we battle, it's going to be different!"

Oakley grins. "We'll see about that!"

"Come on Jessie, don't you want to head to Celadon City right now and catch up with Leaf?" Domino asked, rhetorically.

"RIGHT! See ya, Oakley!" Jessie sprints off with Meowth on her shoulder.

"Wait up, geez!" Domino soon tries to follow.

James doesn't try to follow them. He just looks back at Oakley with a smile on his face. "To be honest, I don't want to leave you."

Oakley chuckles in response. "You goof. Go with your friends."

James sighs. "Yeah… I will." He soon writes his number on a small piece of paper and hands it to Oakley. "Call me, okay?"

Oakley giggles. "I will! Now go catch up with your friends before they abandon you in Porta Visa!"

"EEP! GUYS WAIT UP!" James soon sprints off, trying to catch up to Jessie, Meowth, and Domino.

"Well, looks like James might've found someone and the gang took a nice break from traveling and is back on the road to Celadon City. Will Jessie ever catch up with her rival Leaf or will she forever just be a few steps behind from her? Find out soon as the journey continues!"
