The Day I Turned Slime

⟨⟨ I was an assassin.

I was feared by the masters in fighting. I kill anyone who stands in my way. I do everything for my own greed.

Even if I lose, I will just come back and take revenge. And no one, will escape my blade.

That's how I live my very life.

But, I guess I'm unlucky this time.

"I told you, you cannot defeat me!"

A man that has a human-scaled body of a dragon, with large bat-like wings, red burning eyes.

He's the Lord of the Island of Dragonoids, one of the strongest Kingdom in the Continent.

I was fighting him in my own volition, as he killed my entire village and family, and the sole reason why I became an Assassin.

But compared to my current powers, I can't still defeat him.

Damn it! ⟩⟩

The Lord of the Dragonoids instantly appear behind his back with his right hand pointing at the wounded assasin, he finger tip gathers some energy from the atmosphere and form it into a sphere of concentrated energy of fire.

"It is surprising that a mere Human can get this strong. If you survive this, you're more than welcome to ask for a rematch. Now, begone."

Blast! Boom!

A blast of yellow-orange energy was fired directly at the body of the assasin, with that point blank distance, he, without a doubt, did not survive that attack.

With that, the victor of the match has been decided . The all and mighty Dragonoid spreads his wings and fly towards the sky. His speed is something that anyone can perceive. He instantly disappear as the dark clouds devours his image, and the assassin's headless body is lying on the destroyed field, no signs of life or whatsoever.

The blade of that assasin has taken so many life and spilled so much blood. He was feared by the many due to his power, tenacity, and unyielding will.

Many years have passed and finally his name has been forgotten by the many but there are some people that believe that he will comeback...

...because an assassin always come when you least expect.

An eye open. But not an ordinary eye.

A slime eyes with a magenta color. No pupil or iris, or similar characteristics to a human eye.

It turns out, the eye is just a part of its body. Inside the cave, a countless ball of slime are nesting at the side.

"Huh? What happened?" That's that first word that the slime thought.

It seems that tge slime is the only one conscious that it is a slime.

"Are these slimes? I thought I died on a mountain after fighting the Lord of the Dragonoids. Is this the next life that the ancient text that are talking about?"

The slime wondered through the tunnel cave and sees a small bright pond of water.

"This... it's a mana pool!"

[Mana Pool] is a product of percolation of mana sediments that are found in the soil. Drinking a Mana pool can expand one's mana and heal any wound, but that depends on the size of mana pool.

"It's small but it can still be useful."

But before he can even jump it, the slime finally recognize it's body structures.

"So I'm a slime in this life, huh? I was an assassin in the past but I guess the next life is a bit different."

Thinking nothing else due to its different appearance now, the slime soaked it's body to the small mana pool.

Almost in an instant, the slime is slowly absorbing the mana from the pool, for a nor.al person to use that small mana pool it would take only a few seconds but for a small slime, the absorption of mana is taking time.

The mana is being absorbed into its body creating some boiling buble inside. As the bubble grew stronger its swirl, focusing to a single point and condensed into something sphere-like.

The glow of the mana pool fades and the slime finally get out, the energy of the mana pool finally disappear.

"That felt good. It's a bit unexpected that a mana core would be form with that small mana pool. Lucky!"

[Mana Core] the source of every living being's power. However, slime is different, since they are at the bottom of the food chain and mostly act as a decomposers, they do not possess mana core. Instead, they can manipulate their body to a cellular level to protect themselves. Like they can be hard, turns into an acid and so on.

It could be the first time in the history that a slime obtained a mana core using a mana pool.

As the slime rolls inside the small cave, he can finally sense the surrounding energy.

"With me now having a mana core, I can sense the energy of the environment. In my world, they call it "Haku", does that thing apply here? Hmm, whatever."

[Haku] - the first stage of the four power systems. Haku is something that even a child can use. This happens when a living being activates their mana core. The use of "Haku" is to sense the surrounding energy.

After Haku, there are the others: [Peros] the ability to use the energy inside the mana core and strengthen the body.

Next is [Sorep], the ability to emit energy from the mana core. Finally, the hardest to achieve of all the skills is termed as [Kuha] the ability to use the energy of the nature.
