Life 4: Amnesia, 'really' takes a toll

After Mei had left the ward became as empty as a void as Adam merely sat cross-legged upon his bed as he thought of how to enjoy his life for the most part and slowly cultivate as well.

And looking at the clock in front of him he saw that it was now midnight, and his eyes had become dry due to his usage of Zhen Qi and only sleep would alleviate his problems.

You see the one thing about him that was frightening was that Cultivating never ended for him his cultivation technique was simply out of this world.

As even though he fell asleep or didn't regulate the Intake of Zhen Qi, his body would automatically do this for him and circulate his Zhen Qi around his body without his conscious thought it was happening all unconscious meaning he'd never once stopped cultivating.

But due to the lack of Zhen Qi around, he had to limit his intake as if he'd take too much there'd be none left in the earth for him to absorb for later use.

After this, he had simply laid on his bed until his eyes gave up as he felt the urge to sleep, and soon only a peaceful noise of his breath was heard as the room gradually darkened as the lights turned off.

It had been a few hours since his nap and when he'd woke up, he asked Doctor Huang if there were any books he could read to catch up with this world.

But it seems there weren't much history books here and he sent him some sort of small pad of sorts that had a light screen displaying information.

"Doctor, just what is this sorcery, such a small item capable of holding a portable sun and even small people, is this some sort of spatial Item."

Asked Adam with utmost seriousness, as he looked at the Doctor with an intense gaze.

But the Doctor couldn't reply to his gaze as he felt even more worried about the boy, 'he's even forgotten what a tablet is and computers, he doesn't realise this is merely technology.'

'He thinks this is some sort of magic, damn just what did I do in my past life to have to experience such pain, what am I going to say to his family.'

After his thoughts were over he merely forced a small smile as he explained that the pad in his hands was a computer of sorts and it contained countless information within it.

And after a quick showing of how to use the tablet, Doctor Huang as he left Adam to his own devices to get adjusted to his modern new lifestyle.

And once Doctor Huang left, immediately using the tablet Adam started to use it with speed unfathomable for a normal human as one by one he looked through every historical record within this world.

He looked through when written history began and saw lots of things, just how much humanity or more rather Homosapiens had advanced in only a century from colonisation to being connected through social media regardless of where one lived.

It seems instead of pursuing spirituality and ones inner potential these mortals focused upon ones outer potential what one could do to make things easier and less and less difficult.

They had invented numerous devices used by humanity but had also created weapons and things to protect and defend, but instead of relying on one's inner potential and gifts, they became reliant upon the arts of forging.

Similar to the dwarves within the Sage Realm, though due to creating such strong weapons their physiques were also monstrously strong.

But these humans gave up all these abilities in favour of streamlined humanity that had access to everything and everyone.

Overall the development was amazing, to say the least, but they lacked Zhen Qi that was the only downside.

But soon he realised the tablet couldn't handle his speed it was too slow to process his instructions and so he thought maybe infusing a little Zhen Qi would make it faster.

So wearily he infused a sliver of Zhen Qi within the tablet as gradually it seemed to have an aura of its own Adam put his hands upon the tablet once more and this time the speed was perfect.

As he began looking through everything within the internet and he was soon finished two hours later.

Once that happened he had gotten a notification that someone had come to visit him his uncle or something.

Hearing this he complied and soon his ward was opened and a man with hair parted in two directions and gold-rimmed glasses came in with an exhausted look.

But when he saw Adam he immediately called in Doctor Huang, as something didn't match up.

With a furious tone, Alvin began talking to the Doctor. "Do you think this is a joke, you called and told me my nephew was dead and then while in mourning he's alive."

Hearing these seemingly true words from Alvin, Doctor Huang interjected as he said. "Well, sir calm down..."

Hearing this his eyes became bloodshot, "What do you mean Calm Down stop messing with me tell me the truth, what do you mean he's lost his memories..."

Hurrying to stop his loud ranting, Doctor Huang then resumed. "If you'd let me carry on then you would've known why you see such differences."

Carrying on Doctor Huang said. "The reason as to why he looks so different is due to the fall he had been injured from, he had suffered severe blood loss and his facial features were so scraped and bloody that we had to use surgery to remove his mangled face and had to reconstruct a new face."

"But due to his condition it was hard very hard, and we did our best, I hope you'll be calm now."

Said Doctor Huang as he tried to make up bullsh*t to convince Alvin as even he didn't know why the patient's body had changed, going through the DNA samples he had confirmed this was indeed Adam Li.

"So you're telling me my nephew was so badly injured that you operated on his face and reconstructed it?"

With a hurried walk, he quickened his steps as he headed to Adam's ward before sitting down next to the boy who seemed intent on reading about... "World History?"
