Chapter: You should have joined Hammers of Worthy
Mjölnir shattered!
Witnessing this scene, almost everyone present couldn't believe their eyes; they were shocked by the thunderous rumble as the hammer broke, a sound that seemed to echo endlessly.
Thor's outstretched hand trembled slightly, as if he had been severely injured, and his voice betrayed his turmoil: "Mjölnir..."
"Are you Odin's son?" Cul flicked his fingers, dispersing the debris of the warhammer and remnants of lightning, speaking nonchalantly.
Thor remained silent.
Cul clearly knew the answer and continued on his own accord: "It's truly fortunate for Odin to have a second heir on the throne of Asgard"... Although he says fortunate, there's a hint of resentment in his tone.
"However, Odin will soon lose everything, including you."
Thor clenched his fists: "Even if we fall together, I will defend my father and Asgard!"
"Haha, fall together! You don't have the qualifications for that, my foolish nephew." Cul raised his head and laughed, "When I fully break the seal, I will effortlessly claim kingship and Asgard. The source of power—no, it's reclaiming what is rightfully mine, the kingship has always been my fate."
"And when the kingship returns to me, Asgard's power will increase tenfold, almost infinite... Not even Jehovah or Dormammu would dare challenge me!"
Thor's voice turned cold: "You took Hela's kingship, and I will take yours!"
Cul shook his head: "Two thousand years ago, I was troubled by a single question: why did Asgard's power feel so weak in my hands, making me an inadequate god-king..."
"It wasn't until now that I understood—I wasn't the god-king of two thousand years ago, but the god-king of now and the future. Now is the time for me to truly ascend the throne," he said solemnly.
"Odin and Hela were the past kings of Asgard. The past cannot contest with the present king. That's the lesson I've learned."
Thor retorted: "The new king will contest the old king's power, and I will contest you."
"But you are not the new king,
There's no doubt about that." Cul said, "Asgard's next god-king is my daughter Skadi, the rightful heir who can challenge my power, not you."
With a pause, dangerous energy brewed in his palm, and a green light full of destruction coiled between his fingers like a venomous snake: "Of course, every legitimate heir has an order of succession."
Before he finished speaking, the snake-like green light suddenly glowed brighter, detached from Culs palm, and streaked toward Thor!
Just then, the Rainbow Bridge descended from the sky, and the white-haired Odin materialized instantly. Clad in golden armor, wielding the Spear of Eternity, he unleashed brilliant thunder from its tip.
"Boom!"
In the nick of time, Odin intercepted Cul's attack, but paid a heavy price.
He had lost all the blessings of Asgard's power and was no match for Cul. After the thunder dissipated in the clash, the overwhelming residual power vented onto his aged frame.
Green light surged, its devastating power causing Odin's golden armor to crack, blood gushing from his mouth!
"My brother." Cul looked at Odin, barely holding himself with the Spear of Eternity. "You've grown old... But this isn't your crutch."
With a swift motion, Cul reached out, and the Spear of Eternity slipped from Odin's grasp into his own.
"I am the master of the Eternal Spear." Cul held the spear, regarding Odin condescendingly.
"Father!" Thor tried to aid Odin frantically.
Yet Odin pushed him away, his gaze locked on Cul: "Cul, you may kill me, but spare my son."
Cul sneered: "This isn't like you, Odin. If I hadn't left Skadi a chance to resurrect, she would have perished by your hand. Have you been repenting for over two thousand years?"
Blood continued to trickle from Odin's lips; he was clearly gravely wounded: "Yes... I repent..."
"But now I've decided to learn from you." Cul remained resolute, the Spear of Eternity aimed at Odin's heart. "May my father forgive you!"
The invincible Spear of Eternity pierced Odin's heart, signaling the imminent end of the Allfather.
However, a faint golden glow unexpectedly enveloped Odin.
This shimmering light was composed of intricate runes, forming a protective layer that blocked the Spear of Eternity without a ripple.
Cul was taken aback.
Taking advantage of this distraction, Forseti, utilizing the Holy Shield technique, seized Odin and Thor and fled. Cul attempted to halt them but was unsuccessful, watching as they escaped with Odin and his son.
"So, it's you!" Cul recognized Forseti, his gaze darkening.
"I never expected you to remember me, a mere pawn." Forseti remained composed, the Sulfuron Warhammer quietly aflame in his grip.
Cul couldn't help but glance at the Sulfuron Warhammer.
Asgardians revered warhammers, wielded by warriors for destruction and craftsmen for creation.
"Forseti Garisson, you were destined to become the Lord of the Worthy," Cul remarked.
"For this?" Forseti gestured toward the eight Venerable Sky Hammers battling Earth's heroes, "Relying on warhammers and the bodies of others to pitifully return to this world?"
Cul remained silent.
First to respond was Nur, the Boundary Breaker now attached to Hulk. Having harbored resentment toward Forseti in the past, Nuer now lunged forward with animosity upon encountering him again.
"Forseti!" Nur abandoned his pursuit of Iron Man, roaring as he leaped into the air, "I am no longer the Nur of two thousand years!"
He raised the Boundary Breaker high, descending like a meteor toward Forseti.
"Boom!" Forseti swiftly erected his light shield, which shattered upon the impact's violent force, forcing him back.
It must be acknowledged that the resurrected members of The Worthy were considerably stronger than before their demise, yet their strength remained within reason.
Nur, no longer the Nur of two thousand years ago, and Forseti, no longer the Forseti of two thousand years ago, confronted each other.
Suddenly, radiant wings of holy light fluttered, halting Forseti's retreat and redirecting him to confront Nur, appearing before him at a remarkable speed.
Repent!
Forseti placed his hand on Nuer's forehead, channeling holy light.
The power of repentance surged into Hulk's body, causing Nuer's expression to contort abruptly. He halted his impending resistance, bellowing toward the sky: "No—"
With his unwilling roar, Hulk reverted swiftly to Bruce Banner, the Boundary Breaker also detaching and attempting escape.
However, the Boundary Breaker, carrying Nur's soul, was intercepted the moment it left Bruce's grasp by another pale hand.
This hand exuded a chilling aura, the power of death—the Lich King Loki.
