Chapter. 6 - The Precious Gift

"Please form a line in order to receive your first magical blessing."

"Magical blessings?"

As one of the chosen soldiers asked the mage glowed with white light.

"It is a gift from the goddess. Though we only call it life magic, there is much more to it."

"And you will also be receiving this blessing soon."

As the mage uttered these lines, the other men started to get excited and rushed to be appraised first.

"Hey hey, Miyata-san! Aren't you excited?! We're going to be magic users!"

As usual, Jerard is brimming with energy and his eyes sparkling due to the mage's words.

"Even if you see that, don't you feel that something is amiss"

"Amiss?"

"Ara ara"

Just as the two were conversing, behind them came the voluptuous queen.

"Next!"

The mage looked at the three and called for Jerard and created a good opportunity for him to escape.

"Ah! I'll be right back!"

Just as Jerard had left, Ceciliana bowed at Miyata and said:

"On behalf of my brother's sudden scheme, I am sorry for the troubles we have cost you."

"Your brother?"

"Yes, the man who carelessly jumped to you and revealed your identity without my permission."

"I see, although I'm still quite surprised due to his actions but I must thank him, now I wouldn't have to keep wearing that hot coat! Although, it is still a precious gift to me."

Miyata smiled at Ceciliana and held the cloak with her.

"Ara, then the mage who gave you that cloak must be an important person to you. I'm a little jealous fufufu"

"Mage?"

"You didn't realize? This cloak has been enchanted with a Minor Shroud which explains why the men did not even think a little of your feminine figure and instead thought of you to be someone scrawny. Against this spell, if one does not apply mana to their eyes then it would be akin to them seeing a figure the caster wanted them to see it as. Though, I was careless and did not do so upon our meeting before which resulted to my surprise."

"And those who have the ability to enchant items in this kingdom are mages. Just who are you?"

Footsteps came and as it grew louder, Friedrich's appearance came as well.

"Ara ara, Friedrich you're being too upfront, were you smitten by Miyata-chan's beauty? I found her first though fufu."

A handsome man with blonde hair walked up to the two and without warning kneeled on the ground.

"My name is Friedrich Von Eirch. Please forgive my rudeness in which could have resulted in unwanted conflict. If this maiden insists, then I shall provide compensation."

With a sudden introduction of the handsome man, Miyata became flustered.

"No! You don't have to! Everything is fine!"

"Hmm, then everything is in order, farewell."

"What a rude way to introduce himself. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a brother to lecture! Let's play again Miyata~chan."

[Those two are such a handful. But Tina-chan as a mage? Why did she have to keep such a secret?]

As Miyata pondered, a voice disrupted her focus.
