Chapter 33: Insecurity

Jude was avoiding Grayson. That much Grayson knew for sure. If Jude would just let Grayson talk to him, if he could just get Jude to sit still for two seconds, he could explain that it wasn't a big deal.

Of course, he was having no luck. Every time Grayson approached Jude, Jude would either find an excuse to run away or add another person to their conversation.

Amelia approaches Grayson, cosmically understanding that Grayson had just been thinking about her. "You want to tell me what happened?"

Grayson shakes his head. "I wish I knew. We were just—" Grayson pauses.

Amelia sighs. "Permission granted. You can talk about being romantically involved with my brother just this once. You can keep the details to yourself, though."

Grayson laughs grimly. "There isn’t much to say. I mean, I thought we were about to finally go further, but suddenly he pulled away."

"That can't be the whole story."

"He did kind of…draw a little bit of blood."

"What?" Amelia yells.
