Ch 1 ~ Betrayal

"Adrian, what are you doing, huh?"

The soprano voice immediately surprised a pair of man and woman who were talking in a well-known cafe in London. The handsome-looking man immediately let go of the hand of the beautiful woman sitting in front of him and immediately turned to the source of the sound.

"A-Alesha?" The man said haltingly when he found a beautiful woman with long hair standing not far from him. It was clear that the sharp gaze that was aimed at him.

"How dare you betray me, Adrian! What's wrong with me, huh?" Alesha snapped with trembling lips and teary eyes.

Disappointed. Of course, Alesha was disappointed and hurt to see the man who had been her lover for three years, now with another woman.

It turns out that what Moona has been saying all this time is true, that Adrian is often seen hanging out with other woman. Today she deliberately came to the cafe after getting information from Moona, her best friend. She doesn't know if this is the right or wrong decision. What is clear, now her heart is broken.

"Alesha, please don't get me wrong, I can explain everything." Adrian immediately rose from his seat. Trying to dispel all the negative thoughts Alesha had expected.

However, it is not that easy to build Alesha Morgan's trust, moreover she already feels betrayed like now.

We will see! Only a bitter grin appeared on her face, as if she could already guess what her lover would do to maintain their relationship. Not Alesha, if you can be easily influenced.

Inside, Alesha really wanted to cry, but as much as possible, she held back her tears from falling in front of Adrian. Of course she didn't want to look weak, even though her soul was broke.

"What do you want to say to defend yourself? Are you going to say that woman is just a friend?" Alesha sarcastically smiled bitterly again.

"It's not like that, Alesha. This is not just a reason, but in fact she is my friend," explained Adrian in a very gentle tone, trying to remain calm and hoping Alesha could hold back her emotions.

Alesha raised a corner of her lips, then looked away in any direction as if she was underestimating the explanation that came from Adrian's mouth.

"You think,I will easily believe what you said? No, Adrian! I'm not stupid!" said Alesha with a slightly louder tone. "How can you call her as a friend, when you guys are making out in front of my eyes!" she added emphatically.

"W-we weren't making out. I just—"

"Just holding hands, okay?" Alesha concluded, not giving Adrian the opportunity to give unreasonable reasons.

How could she just believe it, while what Adrian said was in stark contrast to the reality that she saw firsthand. Not to mention the information from Moona so far has convinced her that Adrian already has another woman, not just a friend.

"Al, it's not what you think. I—"

"Come on, Adrian! From now, we don't have any relationship anymore!" Again, Alesha interrupted Adrian. Not giving the man a chance at all to explain.

Meanwhile, the other woman who were with Adrian just stared at them with nervousness and fear. Cold sweat instantly drenched her body.

I don't know what happened to that woman. Could it be because she felt guilty or afraid? If not, why didn't she defend herself at all? Not just silence as if to justify the existence of the affair. At least, if she didn't know that Adrian already had a girlfriend, she could tell Alesha. However, in fact she did not do that.

Isn't it natural that Alesha thinks that betrayal is true?

"No, Al!" Adrian refused firmly. "We can't just end this relationship. Did you forget that next week we're getting married?" he added trying to awaken Alesha to withdraw the decision taken unilaterally.

In fact, he hasn't had the chance to explain yet, but Alesha has already judged him like that.

Alesha's gaze sharpened. There was a clear flash of anger on her face. In fact, her chest felt so tight after knowing the truth about the lover she had always been proud of.

"What? Married?" asked Alesha to make sure, without ending her sharp gaze. "You think I want to marry a man like you? No, Adrian! Don't dream of living together with me!" she said with her chest rising and falling, holding back the emotions that were bubbling up.

"Al ...." Adrian hung his words as he approached Alesha even closer. His hand stretched out, trying to grab Alesha's right hand. However, damn it. He had not had time to touch those slender fingers, his lover had previously brushed his hand away.

"Don't ever touch me with those hands of yours, Adrian!" Alesha said in a loud voice that filled the whole room.

Several pairs of eyes turned towards them. In just an instant, the two of them had become the center of attention of all the cafe's patrons. In fact, the commotion managed to summon a cafe manager to come over to them.

"What's going on? Please don't make a scene here!" said the man in an all-black work suit, glancing at Alesha and Adrian one by one.

"Sorry, we just ...."

Adrian again stopped his unfinished speech when he found Alesha who just left the place. He seemed silent for a while, watching Alesha's steps that were a little hasty. Similarly, the cafe manager is also staring at the same object.

"Alesha, wait!"

Just as Adrian was about to chase after Alesha, the woman behind him had already held his hand. The step that was just about to be taken he had to stop, then looked back.

"Let her go," said Lyanna looking relaxed, as if she didn't care about Adrian's feelings at the moment.

"But-"

"It's useless for you to chase her now, it won't change anything," concluded Lyanna convincingly, as if she could already make sure that Alesha wouldn't just melt away.

Adrian was silent as if heeding Lyanna's words. He sat languidly in his original place, after the cafe manager left in front of him.

"Everything will be fine, trust me," Lyanna said as she grabbed Adrian's hand, trying to reassure him.

"Yeah, let's hope," Adrian said weakly while looking at the two brown beads in front of him.

"No matter what happens, I will always be there for you, Adrian." Lyanna tightened her grip on her hand, plus a gaze that was so fixed as if she had deep feelings. I don't know if it's just a feeling of pity or there are other feelings that she harbors.

The corners of Adrian's lips curved into a smile, just before he answered Lyanna's words. "Thanks, Anna."

Meanwhile, Alesha was seen walking towards her car which was parked in front of the cafe. Since then, her sobs haven't stopped until her cheeks are getting wetter. However, she didn't care about the several pairs of eyes staring at her.

The woman kept walking while lowering her head, until she accidentally bumped into someone who was passing by her.

"Hey Miss, can you be a more careful?"

Alesha immediately looked up when she heard a baritone voice protesting. She stared at the man with teary eyes. It certainly made the expression of the man in front of her immediately turn pity.

"Are you okay, Miss?" asked the man to make sure with a very careful tone of voice.

"None of your business!" said Alesha who managed to make the man's expression turn sour again.

Alesha walked back to her car which was not far from that place, leaving the man alone without feeling guilty.

"Hey, don't just walk away, Miss! At least apologize for dropping my phone!"
