"The war has started!" A middle-aged man-looking man announced. Having black hair and peaceful violet eyes, he wears noble attire. He has an aura of strong dignity that exudes from him.
He was standing at the helm with a large table in front of him, located inside a luxurious room. Many people were gathered inside and surrounded the table.
"It's been weeks since the war started and I've received a report that skirmishes have started between our sides." The middle-aged man continued, his gaze scanning the various people gathered.
'Zekram Bael, the founder of Bael Clan as well as a first-generation devil. A man who already retired but still held great political power in devil society. He was also the one who rallied this rebellion along with the Agares clan head.' A devilishly handsome youth glanced at the middle-aged man in interest. Sporting a smile on his face, the youth opened his mouth to speak.
"Lord Bael, how's the situation on the frontlines?" Asra asked lightly with his ever-present signature smile.
Zekram along with the others inside turned their gaze towards Asra. 'Asra Lenoir, an unknown youth who suddenly appeared decades ago, having the same if not greater strength than the four heirs of Sitri, Gremory, Astaroth, and Glasya-Labolas clan. A very talented youth, both politically and in battle. Have a great influence on the common devils and some noble houses. A very cunning and dangerous enemy to fight...' Zekram thought
"...The situation is not in our favor. Our troops have been constantly pushed back by the enemy." Zekram answered
Asra nodded and didn't speak further, 'As expected of the satan clans. But just wait for quite some time hehe...'
"But it's still the beginning of the war, we will surely prevail in this war. For the future of the devils!" Zekram said along with his charisma, it made the devils excited.
After that, the war conference continued with each member discussing the strategies, logistics, etc.
...
"Where are you going, Asra?" Serafall asked, seeing Asra walking away after the war conference was done.
"Hm?" Asra turned towards Serafall and smiled. "Nothing, I just want to check the frontlines." He answered casually
"But no order has been issued for you yet," Serafall said
Asra merely smiled at her, he was not scared of military punishment. After all, he could just defect if he wanted to. But that's not the case this time.
"Don't worry, I received permission from Lord Zekram to sortie," Asra replied
Serafall was surprised as she didn't know when he got permission. "How?"
"Through this..." Asra said then used telepathy. {We were conversing throughout the meeting using telepathy. I suggested going on the frontlines, and he also know that if we continue losing, the morale will drop. Hence he agreed for me to go out personally and lead some troops to retaliate.}
"Whoa! I see..." Serafall nodded then smiled towards Asra. "Then be careful out there, come back safely!" she said
Asra's expression softened, "I will tell the other three idiots, I'm going out." he said with a smile on his face before teleporting away.
Serafall stared at where Asra disappeared. A few moments later, three figures walked over.
"Serafall! So this is where you are." Sirzechs exclaimed
"Where's Asra?" Ajuka asked noticing the faraway stare of Serafall.
"He went out to the frontlines." She said
"Huh?! That idiot...how dare he don't say anything. But isn't what he's doing a crime since he didn't get an order?" Falbium said
"No, Asra got an order. I'll explain later..." Serafall said
...
Meanwhile, Asra teleported to one of the outposts of the Anti-satan faction. His sudden arrival alerted the troops stationed there.
"Stand down! I came here on the orders of Lord Zekram Bael!" Asra shouted before showing a badge given to him by Zekram. The devil troops also saw his face and recognized him.
"Lord Asra, we apologize for our rudeness!" The troop said
"It's okay, where's the highest authority in this outpost?" Asra asked
"I'm here, Lord Asra!" An ordinary-looking middle-aged man approached Asra. After arriving in front of Asra, the man kneeled on one knee with his head bowed down, following him were soldiers.
"This outpost is now under your command, my lord." The man announced, he already confirmed that what Asra said after seeing the military badge in Asra's hand.
"We will obey your orders, my lord!" The soldiers followed.
Asra nodded, satisfied with the soldier's reaction. "Stand up, you, what's your name?" He asked the middle-aged man.
"This humble one's name is Randall." The latter answered
"Good, Randell, explain the situation of our troops and the enemy." Asra said before he signaled for Randall to follow him inside the tent where the main meetings were held.
.....
"My lord, our soldier numbers were about ten thousand initially but our numbers were greatly reduced, now the soldiers were only about roughly 8,000. Our enemies on the other have roughly 15,000 soldiers." Randall paused for a bit before continuing. "The enemy's base is located at the foot of a mountain a few kilometers away."
"Hmm...based on what you said, the enemy clearly has advantage in terms of quantity. But why didn't they launched an all out attack?" Asra asked
"We also don't know, my lord. That's also what were wondering, from the initial confrontation in our troops, it's clearly showed they have both advantages whether in quality or quantity. After all, most of our soldiers were just normal citizens a few months ago." Randall said
"It seems there's still something they're hiding eh. Interesting..." Asra smirked evilly as he thought of various plans.
"Alright, thank you for the explanation. I can roughly tell our situation. You can go now...rest as we will soon retaliate." Asra said, Randall, nodded and left the tent.
"Now then, Bevis!" Asra said, suddenly a figure emerged in front of him.
"Your orders, my lord." The figure spoke
"Infiltrate the enemy base and find out their plans and the reason why they didn't attack all out. I want to see the results as soon as possible."
"As you command!"
Swish!
The figure disappeared swiftly after hearing Asra's order.
"Now, we wait. Kukuku, how fun would it be for the coming days." Asra chuckled darkly.
