Knowledge ? No Knowledge?

Jaune has knowledge, it is just fuzzy, he remembers certain events, but he doesn't remember all of them, the names of some of the characters are blank, he hardly remembers anything at all... why? He forced himself to stop his Life as an obssesed Avid Fanfiction reader, to make more of a life for himself After his parents died.

The only Knowledge he has that is more clear is Dragon Ball Z.
