Mallory the unfortunate child born from a human among a tribe of leopard demihumans was bullied and shunned since young due to her being slightly weaker, being a bearer of bad luck and because she was an easy target. Even when she kept trying to overcome her trials and difficulties, she still ended up in a poor situation and that is when her previous life’s memories returned along with a skill which had been awakened. How will she survive in the Danmachi world? I do not claim to own Danmachi, its plot or characters but there are some changes I may make to the original story and add my own characters. Completed Valis

According to her specifications, Almura had carved some runes or patterns into each of the metal objects that were paid for by Mallory once she received them.

It did not take long until Almura showed up with a staff in hand. "This may not fully fit with your specifications but I think this may be best for you. This is made from wood from a type of tree which is believed to be a symbol of luck in the east. When I heard about some of the things that you talked about, I thought this suited your idea best.

I have made the engravings, added metal parts with the melted coins to add to the design and the ends then I added a small slot for small magic stones to be placed inside. If I used metal to make the whole spear then it would be difficult to control the weight of it unless certain metals or techniques were used but since you wanted it to be suited to the current you with room for growth, this was the best choice."

'The east?' Mallory observed it then smiled. "Interesting."

While Mallory had read many books and tried many things since coming to the current world, there was a limit to her knowledge beyond Visa City.

There were others that had much more knowledge and experience than herself so she was happy to see the finished staff.

A simple metal mechanism was near the top of the staff which could be locked in place or opened.

Upon it being unlocked, there was a small space where a magic stone could be placed.

Mallory took out a bag of Valis and handed it over to Almura. "Thank you, I hope to have you help me again in the future if possible."

Almura waved as she was leaving. "You know where to find me. If you have anymore interesting ideas then bring them to me first."

Mallory was going to stop her to ask a couple of questions but she felt that it was not yet time for such things.

She turned around and headed to her room where she found the spearhead sitting on top of a wooden staff that did not suit it.

Mallory walked over to a small box and removed some stones which were very small but clear which showed their purity. "Now to try this."

The mechanism was opened up on the staff and a magic stone was inserted into it before being closed.

The spearhead was removed from the previous staff and was fitted over the closed metal mechanism then pulled further into place and secured.

Mallory could feel a slight fluctuation of magic connecting herself to her spear which made her feel very relaxed. "So refreshing and gentle. This kind of familiarity is nice."

Upon thinking back to Almura's words, Mallory couldn't help but feel grateful for the encounter and her interest towards the east and other places had increased.

There were many strange legends, monsters and items out there which could prove useful to her and her but there was one among them that was even more famous and a taboo in the world which Mallory had remembered suddenly.

There were still parts of her skill which had not been tested so she did not yet know its limits and what type of things she could do or create.

She had found that she was able to adapt to learning item creation and blacksmithing quickly so she couldn't help but wonder what else was possible for herself.

Mallory took out the bloodied ink which contained magic stone dust mixed in then started drawing where the runes had been carved to give it the finishing touch before letting it dry. "Ah.. I cannot wait to test you out."

It did not take too long for it to dry and her connection with it seemed to get even stronger than before as if an incomplete personal item had reached completion.

Deep into the night, Mallory was practicing with her newly acquired spear which had been named Valis.

The increased familiarity with Valis only made her movements quicker and sharper than before.

While Mallory was practicing, a pot was knocked by the wind above her and fell down onto her.

In a single moment, Mallory sensed it and reflexively swung her spear upward which cleanly cut in in half with a single cut.

Mallory got out of the way of the falling remained before they scattered around and she admired her new partner. "Valis, you are indeed my lucky charm."

While Mallory had made some necklaces and bracelets which were placed on her body to increase her luck and protection against the evil eye, there were still many times when it was not enough to hold off her bad luck.

Valis became the main source of her protection and it was like she was slowly tapping into sensing that incoming danger before it happened.

What just happened may have seemed normal on the surface but it was actually the spear which had gave off a different feeling through her connection to it which made Mallory feel weird and more on guard.

By instinct and reflex, she had detected the origin of her bad luck before it could harm her upon being warned which allowed her to avoid or counterattack it. "I knew that there was something special about you."

Upon checking it a little later, Mallory found that the energy within the magic stone had been slightly depleted so she had to send some of her own magic power within it. "So that is how it works. Just like a magic staff, a stone can be embedded or slotted in to allow the magic or effects to have a better medium or source of power to draw from. Since I am not using a spell through it and it used it on its own, the cost was taken from the magic stone and did not take any of my power.

This means that magic items can be powered by my magic stones if they are embedded or slotted in to make them a more permanent item rather than a disposable like the talismans, charms and amulets which may only last for one or more uses. There is also the cursed items which give off a spell effect or energy over a long period of time so they have been helpful in finding away to make charms or amulets with small but long lasting positive effects without the item breaking upon use."

Mallory went to study up more from the book by Fels before falling asleep, there was a knock at her door in the early morning. "Wake up. It is your duty to oversee this so dress neatly."

Upon waking up, Mallory got dressed and headed out to meet her goddess Seshat who had been waiting for her. "Greetings goddess."

Seshat motioned her to follow so they walked towards the largest building in Visa City then when they were almost there, Seshat stopped. "Remember to be respectful."

They continued and were allowed entry by the guards which lead them to a room where an older man was seated with a group of dark skinned people with pointed ears.

They were each dressed in their own smart or ceremonial clothes which showed they were there for important business.

The older man coughed and then began to speak. "Now that everyone is here.. we will begin the meeting. You may address me by my title and that is city lord, over there is Goddess Seshat and her latest favoured child in her familia. You have been called here to handle a situation which happened within Visa City and I hope that we can reach a peaceful resolution."

The dark elves frowned upon hearing him then one turned their head to glare towards Mallory. "It was you wasn't it? The one who harmed him?"

Mallory rolled her eyes and complained internally. 'You want to bring that up now? Try listening to the cause of the events before pinning the blame onto me."

She held in her annoyance while the city lord stated. "Our city has had its fair share of problems lately and it is because of the Seshat familia and their latest familia member that we have been able to solve many problems. If things continued then perhaps we would not be seated together like this but would instead be at war with each other. So please be patient and listen to my explanation."

One dark elf nudged his ally in the arm and glared at him which made them behave. "Go on. We wish to hear what you have to say about this."
