Chapter 8 - Final Boss Entrance

As usual, everything was bright then the bright light slowly faded away.

It did not matter how many times he did it, it would still disorient him.

Kiel found himself just outside a forest, looking at a city built against the side of the mountain.

It was quite a big city which spanned 2 km wide and went hundreds of meters up the mountain side.

Behind him were lush forests covered with green trees that grew to about four to five meters tall.

Taking a deep breath of the clean fresh air, he gathered his wit then called out his status window:

#######

Tower of Extinction: Level Two.

The story was that there will be an orc invasion that will completely decimate the city in front of him.

In his past life, he had muddled along until the city was attacked by the orcs. He had helped in defending the walls and survived by sheer luck.

After which the city was routed and he had escaped from the sewer to the forest barely surviving the orc hunting party.

Somehow he had managed to kill the last few required orcs and had immediately left the level while the other orcs were running towards him.

He remembered it was the first time the tower offered him to leave. He had taken the opportunity without hesitating.

What a sad life. Killing 10 orcs then only gave him 500 experience and only managed to get him up to level 2. He was so happy then.

Man… that was embarrassing.

Kiel shrugged out of his reverie and called out the special command

"Tower of Extinction: Hell Clear"

Staring at the floating red window. Kiel almost keeled over. WHAT THE FUCK!!! HOW COULD ANYONE ELSE CLEAR THIS!!!!

Save the city, then effectively wipe out the orcs to top it off. There was actually a human traitor, wait, TRAITOR"S" too???

How? In his previous life he was lucky he even survived. Though now he was much stronger… he did not think he would have it easy.

Exasperated, he decided he would take it all in stride and see what happens.

If he could achieve "Hell Clear" then why not. But if he could not do it. He would give it up. Surviving and getting strong on the next level was much preferable to dying here trying to get that "Hell Clear".

He decided, if there was a big risk of dying then he would not hesitate to leave the level regardless of what the completion level was.

Having made up his mind, he walked towards the city and first made an assessment whether the city even had any chances.

Previously, he was too engrossed trying to survive and obtain skill pages here to notice anything else.

Approaching the city, he kept all his equipment in the rings, not wanting to draw attention to his sword.

So lets start to assess the City defenses.

Treelines …... Too near. Too much siege materials for the invaders. Those need to go. He recalled those big ladders the orcs made when they invaded

Moat...…..….too narrow and shallow, it was simply an ornament for the orcs. Just the first wave of dead orcs effectively filled up the moat.

City walls..... Had adequate height, and thickness but lacked defensive structures. To survive the massive onslaught, they needed to be higher and thicker.

Walkway ..... Too narrow there was barely any effective defense.

Gates...….… Weak, rickety, though the timber was well maintained but was not thick enough, the hinge was still working well, but it would not survive rams from the orc sieges.

Guards...….. Sloppy, low leveled but decent equipment to say the least.

Damn. This would not be easy.

As he passed the laxed guards, he strolled towards the city hall where the City Lord lives.

Unsurprisingly, he could simply walk straight up the main road to the hall.

There were two rows of guards on either side of the entrance.

Pity from the look and feel of them. They would not even be level ten yet.

However, it was obvious at a glance that the guards here were much better trained and equipped than the ones on the gates.

Since he decided he would make an entrance.

So… Let's just get it over with.

Bare handed he walked up the stairs and headed towards the entrance of the City Hall.

Whatever world he was in, Strength reigned Supreme.

"Halt!! State your purpose stranger!"

The Guard captain on the right yelled.

Simply looking up, I smiled and said.

"Chat with your boss, Excuse me"

And continued to walk.

Poor fellow must have low CPU Speed. He was stunned for a while, unable to process what I said, before turning red with anger and tried to punch me.

A simple side step and a short wave of my hands and the guard Captain went flying down the stairs.

"Urgh"

Bang,

He groaned as he rolled down the stairs.

Well, Kiel hoped the poor fool wouldn't die from the fall, and he continued walking in.

He looked up and saw a man in his forties with a crown sitting on a throne above the dais. He smiled at the man and continued to walk.

Meanwhile, the rest of the guards pulled their swords and surrounded him.

Funny thing was as he walked forward a step. They all would retreat a step along with him.

Feeling sheepish, he took a step left, two steps forward and then a step right.

Like a little duckling, all the guards around him were obediently following his movement.

Feeling amused. He now aimed to make some of them trip and fall. That would be a sight to see

So he took five steps to the right, then four steps forward. The guard at his two o'clock position faithfully tripped on the candle holder.

Causing loud clanking noises down the hall where the City Lord was having an audience with some of his subjects.

Kiel could not help but chuckle at the absurdity of the whole situation.

But that was also the last straw of guards around him and all ten of them charged towards him.

While Kiel was still some distance away from his peak form before his death, no rebirth, his fighting skills honed in the tower for the past thirty years were brutally efficient and refined with no wasted movement where each blow landed on the most appropriate point to incapacitate his opponent with the most efficient use of force.

Seeing him move around the ten guards trying to take him out was like watching an expert dancer weaving gracefully around novice ballerinas.

Before long, a punch here, a kick there, a knee here, an elbow there and even one where he used his butt to smash into the guard's face, every single one of the ten guards were knocked out.

So one man, versus twelve guards, barehanded, won without much effort. Feeling full of himself, Kiel was smug as he must have made an excellent performance on his entrance.

Then he simply walked toward the City Lord, stopped just below the stairs to the throne and bowed.

"You cocky, rude Bastard!!!"

Before Kiel even managed to say anything. He heard a scream. He got up just in time to see a young man, looking much like the man on the throne rushing towards him.

Aah, the foolish son who thought he was very strong.

Kiel simply lifted his right hand up, and grabbed the young man's face.

He then slammed the conceited youth onto the stairs, just using enough force to knock him out.

Without any additional words, the City Lord stood up.

Damn, Kiel cussed as the City lord was much taller than he thought when he saw him from afar.

Too late to run now. He had to go through with the motion now.

He saw Damien Bloodseal, that is the name of the City Lord, pulled out a great sword from nowhere and walked down towards him.

Damn, Kiel thought. So cool, just like the final boss entrance.

At the same time, he saw something that made him jealous, the bejeweled and glowing sword.

What a nice sword….
