Chapter 33 - Level Two Hell Clear Complete

"Tower of Extinction: Perfect Clear"

He had already achieved that. 

Kiel could leave anytime and the rewards were sweet too, 1 equipment upgrade 1 level and a bonus character level.

Logically, Kiel knew he should leave.

It was unnecessary to risk his life further on useless endeavours. 

But Kiel was unresigned.

The thoughts of Thorgen getting trapped for centuries, the rest of the humans being slaughtered like livestock just didn't sit right with him. 

The sight of all those women and children's eyes which were initially filled with despair then started to gain hope was so heavy.

Somehow, he found himself unable to turn away nor could he run.

They said it made him weak.

They said these are just NPCs.

But fuck them all. 

He would do what he wanted.

In this life, he wanted to live with a clear conscience. 

He had enough of being tormented with nightmares due to the choices he made.

Gritting his teeth he got back up and wielded his weapons.

He casted "Mana Sword(C)", "Basic Mana Armour(C)" and "Power Boost(11) then he rushed towards Damien again.

Damien calmly watched Kiel rush up the hill.

As Kiel drew near Damien smirked and simply lifted his hands and casted a spell.

A skeleton hand came up from the corpses beneath his foot and grabbed his ankle then Damien slashed with his great sword.

Kiel had no chance to duck so he was forced to instead use "Instant Step(S)" to appear behind Damien

But Damien seemed to have anticipated where he would be and used the same spell to grab that him while continuing with his slash to rotate and slash at his back

Kiel lifted both sword and blade to block the incoming great sword.

The strong impact flung Kiel off, breaking the skeleton hands that were grabbing on his ankles.

Both of Kiel's hands felt like they were about to break and the webbing of his hands between the thumb and the forefinger felt like they were about to split.

Kiel smashed into the mountain of bodies behind him.

His body felt like they would break. He crawled out with difficulties and once again charged at Damien.

As Kiel closed in, he anticipated the skeleton hands and when Damien casted the spell, he jumped to avoid it.

However before he landed, he saw Damien stabbed his sword and disappeared.

Damien had appeared behind him, grabbed him with his left hand and dangled him up by his neck.

Kiel slashed back with his blade to cut Damien's wrist but Damien tossed him up and retracted his hand then Damien kicked him hard towards his right knee with his spiked steel boots.

Kiel had nowhere and no time to dodge.

His right knee was pierced and dislocated as his body spun with the momentum and his head was going to hit the earth.

Kiel desperately put up both hands to soften the blow but still his head hit the ground hard.

Kiel tried to roll away in a daze, but Damien had grabbed his right arm and twisted it. 

Kiel's right arm dislocated with a snap. 

Damien then flung him away and smashed him into another mountain corpse

Now the right side of Kiel's limbs were rendered immobile.

Kiel somehow managed to roll on his left leg. 

Then he pivots on his leg enduring the pain of his dislocated limbs and slashes out with the blade on his left hand towards the incoming Damien.

Damien disappeared then appeared on his left side and punched out with his massive spiked gauntlet.

Kiel's left shoulder was dislocated and with a crack, he could feel his upper left arm bone broke.

With only his left leg, he barely stood and much less defended against the punch.

Kiel was sent flying and crashed into another mountain of corpses.

As Damien walked towards Kiel, he spoke:

"Why do you even bother, you know you can't win.

Wait, you want to save the innocents is it?

Hwahwahwahwa, a person like you still wanted to play hero?? 

Look at yourself!!!

Hero!!

Now you will die…"

Damien had stood in front of Kiel

He was about to bring the massive greatsword down on Kiel's head.

Yet he stopped. Kiel could see dark glee in Damien's eyes as he said;

"Since you want to be hero so much,

 I'll let you see them die in front of you.

No one can save them.."

With that Damien turned around and started to kill the humans trapped in cages. 

Despite the prisoners being killed far away from the altar and the Orb, Kiel could see the blood somehow turn into mist as it streams into the altar to empower the Orb.

In less than 10 minutes, everyone was killed.

Now, the only living beings in the great cavern were just Kiel and Damien.

The Orb starts to glow red as it had long ago been filled and was turning into its complete version.

Meanwhile, without realising it Kiel's vision started to turn red. He had unknowingly activated "Berserk(C)" and his anger was brewing.

That taunting and seeing the prisoners being killed like livestock brought his anger to the limit.

Kiel's wound regenerated at an extreme rate and by the time Damien finished killing everyone, he had completely recovered and was back on his feet.

Damien was nonchalant and proceeded to head back to him to kill him last.

Unfortunately for him, Kiel had lost control. His power had also doubled.

In just the first clash. Damien's greatsword was flung far away while the "Fine Steel Sword(C)" crumbled into pieces, unable to withstand the force of the blow.

Damien looked at his torn gauntlet in disbelief, blood was flowing from his torn webbing between his thumb and forefinger. 

Kiel stepped forward and punched with his right hand still holding the hilt of the broken sword.

Damien's chestplate caved in as the broken piece of sword stabbed deep into his chest and Damien's 2 metres tall frame was flung hard and hit the cages behind him.

Kiel rushed forward and then with a slash of his blade, but Damien raised both arms to try to block the blade with his gauntlet.

It was useless as the mana covered blade simply sliced through his arms and through his torso.

City Lord Damien Bloodseal, the Undying Necromancer died.

There were many system prompts but Kiel was oblivious to them.

He had lost his mind.

Now, only Kiel was the living soul in the Cavern.

Eventually, the "Berserk(C)" state dissipated and deactivated on its own as there was no target.

Completely exhausted he slumped down where he stood and saw a skill page in front of him from the dead City Lord:

"Hidden Class Certificate: Necromancer"

Kiel casually swiped it into his ring and called out:

"Tower of Extinction: Hell Clear"

Hell Clear: 

Protect the city from destruction. (Complete)

Kill all Orcs. (Complete)

Kill the Human traitor. (Complete)

Reward: 

Chosen Item upgrade 1 level, 

Bonus 1 Character Level. 

Bonus Random Skill upgrade 1 level

Hell Clear finally completed.

Feeling a sense of relief, all the exhaustion flooded Kiel and he fell unconscious.
