Chapter 30 - End of Krolll Fireborn

Capitalizing on the momentum, the human army continued to pursue the escaping orcs.

It took them 2 days to chase them up the mountain pass.

Along the way the horses and yaks had proven invaluable as they let the riders keep up with the Orc stragglers.

Kiel, who had sneakily looted the Medium Grade Mana Core from the Orc Warlord's head, joined in the chase.

Along the way he had also sniped and looted some Minor Mana Cores from the hunted Orcs.

Another reason he followed was that he needed to make sure the Orcs were completely annihilated.

From the top of the mountain the human armies rolled down boulders to crush escaping Orcs as they were still making their way down.

Though this did not kill too many of them, they still scored decent kills.

After the Orcs were out of range, Damien ordered for the armies to camp out at the top of the mountain pass.

That night, everyone was exhausted but none were sleeping because they were all excited at the prospect of chasing and wiping out the Orcs once and for all.

The next morning all of them made their way down the mountainside and arrived at the forest.

Kiel recalled the last time he was here.

He had come and acquired the inheritance.

After that he had survived the Orc encirclement and had even wiped out many hunting teams.

The next morning, they took 2 days to slowly make their ways down the mountain side.

The previous ledge was gone and it took them some time to get the army and the horses down the mountain.

The army then took another day to pass the forest and reach the grassland.

The scout then tracked the Orc stragglers straight to the Orc city deep in the grassland.

The journey from the edge of the forest took 3 days.

When they reached the Orc city it was more like a nomads' camp.

There were no rock structures, only massive huts made of leathers.

From afar, a massive tent was visible in the middle of the city.

Outside of the city was surrounded by open pits filled with rotten meat and bones.

From afar, they could see the Orcs were all standing guard on the city gates.

Understanding that his army was all travel-worn, Damien decided to have them set up camp for the night.

The next morning Damien and Kiel led the army to attack the Orc city.

The sight of human remains and bones in the bone pit caused many in the army to boil with anger.

The battle was bitter. Everyone involved battled with everything they had with their life on the line.

Both sides knew this was a battle of annihilation. Only one side can survive.

While they managed to use fire to clear a lot of the tents, the casualties suffered by the human army were also substantial.

On the 2nd day, they managed to capture half the city.

They got to the market area which was lined with cages.

There were many animals caged. There were even humans in captivity.

In the slaughterhouse, the army even found human remains.

This news spread throughout the army like wildfire.

That night, the anger in the army reached a critical point and since the army was restless.

Damien struck while the iron was hot and they conducted a night raid.

The fight was brutal and the army took out their anger on the despairing Orcs.

By the dawn of the 3rd day, Kiel and Damien finally killed their way to the main tent.

The Guard Captain, Argus was the first to rush in followed by 3 special guards.

Once they entered, all four were greeted by a Fire Blast.

They didn't even have a chance to scream before they were turned into charcoal.

The rest were hesitant to enter the tent.

Kiel wielded his weapons and strode in.

Just before he entered, he casted "Spell Reflect(A)" and abruptly increased his speed.

A Fire Blast landed on his mana reflect barrier just as he entered.

The spell reflect took effect and sent the Fire Blast back to the caster.

Immediately after, Kiel followed up with a "Silence(C)" on the Orc Shaman standing at the center of the massive tent.

Lit up by the Fire Blast, Kiel could see that the Orc Shaman's eyes had long turned red.

The Fire Blast hit the Orc Shaman's massive body and burned him alive.

While the shaman was roaring in pain and flailing trying to put out the fire on itself, Kiel closed in with an "Instant Step(S)" and cast "Basic Mana Sword(C)".

He appeared on the back of the Orc and stabbed him with his sword and blade, trying to sever the head.

While the strike was a failure, he managed to slice through the Orc's throat and jugular veins….

The Orc roared loudly while Kiel leapt away suffering some minor burns.

The Shaman Grand Elder Kroll Fireborn, knew the end was near.

From the stories of the returning Orcs he knew that the raiding horde of 1000 strong had failed.

Less than 200 had returned.

The loss was devastating and the Warlord, Thrullax Ironjaw, was killed by a powerful human.

As the surviving Orcs returned, the scouts also reported that the human army was coming down the mountain heading towards their city.

The Gods had abandoned them.

But Orcs would never yield.

So he had gathered everyone to defend the city.

Everyone had to participate, none could hide.

2 days after the attack started. The food cages area was lost.

Before he even managed to find a solution, the humans attacked with crazed ferocity that very evening.

He recalled there were some humans in those cages.

That must be why…

He stood in the main tent calmly waiting for the end.

Kroll heard commotions outside and he knew they lost.

The flaps of the tent opened and 4 humans in their shining armours entered.

Kroll simply greeted them with his "Intermediate Fire Blast(D)"

He calmly waited for more humans to enter, he would take as many as he could with him.

Next a single human entered and Kroll casted his "Intermediate Fire Blast(D)"

But he saw a layer of mana shield covering the human and his Fire Blast hit the human.

The fire reflected back to him.

Seeing that his Fire Blast was futile, Kroll felt his rule over fire had been challenged and everything started to turn red.

The Fire Blast engulfed him, burning him.

BEING BURNED BY HIS OWN FIRE??!???

Kroll never felt such an insult in his life and he began to lose himself to his anger.

He was oblivious to the pain.

He wanted to cast another Fire Blast to teach the puny creature what it meant to challenge he who was bestowed the power over Fire by the Gods.

But he found that he was unable to cast a single spell.

It's as if the Gods had abandoned him. He was still burning.

It must be that human. He was the cause of all this.

Dual wielding. Gray hair. Lean body. Can disappear and reappear at other place.

The little human disappear from in front of him.

He must be the one that killed Thrullax!!!

He felt his neck was cut.

He raised his hands to hold his neck.

Then the human appeared in front of him and stabbed at his heart.

"Ugh…"

Kroll groaned, strength seemed to seep away from him and eventually the world turned dark.

In his last moments, he stared at the young human full of indignation.

But it was useless.

His time had come to an end.
